  1. One of the issue is how fast you gain disposition (which was supposed to be slowed down with 1.02). I was at +2 with Maia, I took 2 pro-Huana dialogue choices in a single conversation with a NPC and I dropped at 0. It didn't took me very long to get back to 2 afterward. It's the same thing for factions, I got Delver's Rows at -3 by killing the "doormen". After doing Dereo's quest, I was back at -1.
  2. Personally, I didn't catch up that I was helping with assassinations until ending slides. But playing now I just can't help but see how shifty Maia is about this, she definitely knows where all of this is leading, and I just can't trust her anymore. I don't like companions using me for doing their dirty work while keeping me in the dark. The way I understood it, Maia didn't know it was assassination before she opened hers, but she knew she wasn't going to like what was going to be in it in advance. There is a reason she straight up tell you she's a spy...she hates that job. But she hates abandoning her country even more.
  3. One of the deckhand is in the crow's nest, which is what is used to spot thing at sea. I learned that in one of the "text adventure" while at see.
  4. The total was actually $4.7m. Of that, $2.25m is investor money and the rest, $2.45m, is pledges. The extra would not cost as much as people pay for them, so hard to say their final total cost. I don't think we even have the final amount of backers either. Fig investor doc estimated the game total budget at $14m (I believe that included the crowdfunding and double VO, but not full VO) with a break even at 500k copies from what I remember. I remember a mention that Deadfire budget was about double POE1 final budget during the Figstarter. POE1 reached 500k sales in October 2015 (released in March 2015) and Sawyer commented on direct sequel usually selling less. I don't think Obsidian expected to break even in the first week of release...
  5. Hylea gives you a cake. Skaen's followers gives you an Effigy summon item (1 time use I think) in a text encounter on one of the island. Galawain gives Edér +5 HP and "nerf" the Ashen Maw dragon(? I read that on reddit). Rymrgand I have no idea...I know what is "curse" is though.
  6. It's driving POE1 sales up, doesn't look like they are "shooting themselves in the foot".
  7. Wait. Are there a means to Maia not abandon the ship? And not siding with Royal Trade Company? She leaves no matter what if you side Vailian Republics. If you bring her with you to do the Huana final request, she leaves. She doesn't if she isn't in the party (this might be a bug). If you side Principi or no one she stays.
  8. Fort Deadlight, Engwithans Waystation, Oathbinder's Sanctum and maybe Drowned Barrows going by the wiki (I haven't explored it yet). Either you are blind or your memory is distorting the actual size of Raedric's Hold. That's unnecessary. Perhaps a lot of those dungeons will feel longer once the difficulty is improved, but as of right now not one of them takes as long as Raedric's Hold, Durgan's Battery, etc. I don't personally mind the smaller dungeons and think they probably lend themselves better to the theme of Deadfire than, say, an Endless Paths-style dungeon would, but that doesn't mean it isn't an accurate observation. It took me more time to "do" Fort Deadlight than Raedric's Hold and that was with less combat involved in Deadlight. Durgan's Battery is from the expac, I'll wait to see what the 3 DLCs gives us before bringing that up. And for the record, you can finish Raedric's Hold in like 5 minutes with a no combat approach. It's not like you have to kill everyone there.
  9. Play a ghost heart! But how are you getting your pet killed so much? I never got Ishiza killed outside party wipe caused by stupidity...

  11. BG2 can be finished in 1 hour (without using exploit), I have never seen anyone complains about that game being too short.
  12. He does that even if you never complete the quest, which is the way I go in my game. Weird, it is supposed to be tied to what you tell her in her personal quest conversation wrap-up. I got no other convo* with her outside quest and romance stuff (which I turned down), I fail to see when you can suggest Rauatai is doing thing wrongs elsewhere. *she went 0 to 2 twice on top of it.
  13. I didn't take the "no surge of innovation or prosperity" to mean progress was still going onward. That ending is slightly different if you sided with RDC too. Although, I find it interesting that empowering Berath results in a more stable seasons and less wars and/or natural disasters. That suggest the gods have an effect on Eora's ecosystem. It was this slide that makes me think progress is still happening. Sided with Aeldys in this playthrough. According to the wiki, that line requires Rauatai to control Ukaizo...
  14. Yup, but it might be possible to sabotage it. Now though, if you sabotage that class quest, can you still tell Maia it is wrong so the ranga nui hears of it which result in him having a chit-chat with his admirals...

  16. I think there is. I'm currently working on it. In Fort Maje there is an option to convince the spy to take the missives without dealing with the stalker. It clearly says it will put her mission at risk. So fingers crossed. In Tikawara I think it involves letting the spy get beaten or smth. I wonder if the rifle is given to you if you do that though. I guess you will find out.
  17. 1 Major and 2 Moderate gains with Huana, and still no change from the +2 I already had. Looks like this is messed up now They slowed down disposition gain... maybe they slowed it down too much?
  18. Some people should probably go the wiki and read the ending possibilities, it's way more complex then POE1. Even the companion stuff. I get the feeling more people should pick the last option with Eothas...who doesn't want to destroy Eora.
  19. POE1 high concurrent peak is probably the results of the amount of backers starting the game on release day. DOS1 peak happened ~2 months after the game was released and it was a peak, not a steady increase (there was probably a sale). POE2 had a lot less backers than POE1 (~34k vs ~77k) which would affect release peak. Looking at achievement is interesting. Early last week, when I checked on GOG not even 40% of owners had left tutorial island. Today that amount is 61.7%. The stats is similar on Steam (63.7%). Looks like ~25% of owners waited for the first patch.
  20. It is, but I don't think it's Maia only. Her quest is super easy to do if you ever get it (I only got it after her disposition dropped to 0).
  21. Modwyr yell during battle? Dang, looks like I have another issue to add to the list, because I was wondering why I wasn't hearing anything form her. Actually, my only "chatty" party member was Maia, everyone else was just barking if they had "no pen".
  22. I kept Modwyr. Her reaction when you try to pick the Magistrate's Cudgel is funny...jealous indeed. There is only 11 alcoves on Ukaizo near the "Wheel", doubtful there is a missing sibling. There is an unknown deity statue inside the Engwithans Poko island ruins, but Engwithans existed before the gods so who knows what/who they worshiped.
  23. Rekke's god could be one of the 11 we know, it's just that were he comes from the other gods were not worshiped/erased from public knowledge overtime and forgotten. It's not like everyone worships all the gods everywhere, but proximity to other cultures keeps the knowledge of the others alive. That could also suggest another godly conspiracy where one of the gods is trying to get ride of all the others. That would actually bring some interesting elements in a plot to fix the Wheel instead of just having Rymrgand opposite it. Pallegina will just roll her eyes if that happens though.
  24. I was thinking it could be one of those times when you search battlefields or burials. But they don't have random encounters, just random loot...or are they supposed to spawn encounters sometimes? I learned 2 days ago that Neketaka has random encounters, despite me never encountering any in about 15-20 hours of travelling the place...so...
  25. The answer raise a new question: what is Buried Treasure? A quest/task? something like wrecks? something else? There is a quests that gives you a map to a buried treasure (Magnera's Chain is a reward for that), but why would that have random encounters... Now I feel like I missed something in the game, lol.
