I like 'em big and curvy, as everyone here knows. I can admire an athletic physique but it's not sexually attractive to me. And I hate skinny, how the hell did skinny become desirable? Runway models are boring.

Isn't the gamespot reviewer a tranny with the pseudo surname "Petit"? This person is complaining about the female treatment in a video game? How much more stereotypical/cliche/geek driven can someone be? And how limp wristed can someone be to even defend that? It's pure comedy. Are you Duke Nukem?

But that's not what the gamespot reviewer did. She made a value judgement on the game's writing. Calling it misogyny may be going a bit too far but it's a fair assessment shared by other reviewers - the characters are not well written, especially the female ones.

With the culture those women grow up in, their duty to god is probably enough motivation. No virgins are needed. The men take a bit more convincing though.

I didn't see the gamespot review as unfair, really. I do think the women in the game are one dimensional and cliche. I know it's supposed to be a parody but that doesn't mean you can't include interesting female characters. Inconsistent characterization Is an observation made by other critics of the game as well.

My concern about EA is whether or not they can create an RPG with soul, as opposed to churning one out on a conveyor belt. This is why the indie scene is gaining ground. Indie games have unique concepts, they take risks, they have soul. Most AAA releases don't. It seems EA wanted to try the annual release thing with DA2...didn't work out to well.
