In both Witcher games, humans are the main antagonists, not the Wild Hunt. I doubt that will change.

The King of the Wild Hunt is very Melnibonéan. Like Yrkoon or an evil Elric. Probably going to be the end boss of Twitcher 3 as well (considering his connection to Ciri who appears to be in the game). So you have played it then? Always nice to get insider info. Not ideal. Some control schemes are better for certain games. Playing Free Space 2 with a Joystick and keyboard is what got me hooked on the genre. Playing that game with a gamepad would just be, not fun. And i have no desire to play an X game with a gamepad.

CD Projekt pulled a similar stunt. I feel it was with the UI system and certain graphical implementations. They were clearly readying Witcher 2 to be released on xbox. But unlike Egosoft, they didn't nerf anything else in the game. A space sim is a hell of a lot more complex. Whoever thought it was a good idea to make the game pad the core input device, should be beat over the friggin head with one.

"SHOW ME YOUR SKILLZ" I think they may have been future proofing for release on next gen. That's what the game feels like, because now there is limited functionality to menus and hotkeys. I mean why would they even bother with gamepad design for something as complex as a space sim?? I always use joystick/keyboard combo.

I was hoping the campaign would be better but I bailed on it 40 minutes in. They really should be able to hire better writers and voice actors by now, they've been making games for like what, 20 yrs? My PC can play it but it struggles in spots. I might just hold off till it gets patched a bunch.

The FPS walking view is...not too good. Voice acting is bad, but it wouldn't be an X game if it wasn't. Full Joystick support is not there yet, it seems. A disappointment. The menus and loading times are pretty bad so far. Everything else seems good. Just my very first impressions.

Good point. Probably best to hold off anyway to let them work out the inevitable bugs and such. Such a massive game is likely to need tweaking well after launch.

Far Cry 1 is not fully Sandbox per se but it has excellent shooter mechanics and enemy encounter design. Until you get to the stupid mutants that is.

I don't think we know enough to say that. What we do know is that it's one of the few games to really look next gen. Not even BF4 has these kinds of visuals. I'm glad it's third person shooter instead of FP. Gameplay looks solid, not sure about that crazy map UI though. I'm usually not interested in MP games but this has me intrigued. Of course with Ubisoft as publisher my excitement is tempered a bit.
