  1. That is your point of view. 30 mobs is not bad design at all, it's just horde fighting, and is completely precluded in TB games. Stop with this "trash mob" approach, there's no such thing.
  2. The things that consoles miss are 2: high DPI screens for tiny characters and a precision pointer (mouse).
  3. There is no "trash fight". There are easier fights and harder fights. Fighting is not some filler content in PE and its ancestors (well in PST MAYBE IT WAS, but I enjoyed combat there as well), it's not supposed to be a chore or uninteresting. Fighting every fight in IE games was awesome from my point of view, each enemy interesting and contextualized, from the gibberling swarms to the colorful mages battles.
  4. HoMM use at best 6v6 units (maybe a little more?), that's why it works so damn good in that game. IE-scale battles can be quite huge when low level mobs are involved. Coming back to "easy" areas in BG was totally awesome, Xvart village ANYONE?
  5. Fight 30 gibberlings with your 6 men party in turn-based combat. 2 Hours to clear the room. Yay. Look at this RTwP awesomeness: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CABMVtIPRE
  6. No way. I hate (most) explicitly turn based videogames. Man, so boring.
  7. Do you guys believe BG was made to be powerplayed? I think not! But is a singleplayer game! "Efficient" builds should exist but hard to find\master. Like in BG, where they probably got it right: first playthrough you do not-efficient builds, 3-4th playthrough you master all the mechanics and "powerplay".
  8. NO SLEEP FOR THE WATCHER. Amnesia or similar might be the case indeed. EDIT: Anyway, blank slate background is kind of the best thing to get the character into the world, especially with new IPs. Using the "amnesia" way, all the odd and peculiar things of the world get to be talked about, even if they are the most common thing in PE setting.
  9. QFT edvk! Anyway, I'd perfectly ok with anything obsidian comes up to. I have total trust!
  10. I've been skimming / skipping lots of very long posts (tad hypocritical of me, I admit freely) - which one are you referring to? He's judging people reading 1\10 of a post. teh intarnetz.
  11. Annah was truly spiritual.Oh wait. Depends on how fine of detail you look at it. She did resist physical advances, was motivated more loneliness, and feared fate. QFT. I liked Annah relationship with TNO. That part of Avellone interview actually semi-confirmed my point of view. Avellone-style companion interactions are going to be in (and that was obvious), no hot steamy sex (luckily), possible "romance" with 1-2 (few but well defined) characters. Like PST. EDIT: oplease, caps-lock was cool 5-6 years ago.
  12. @TwinkieGorilla that's why one can't argue on the internet. Post dissection at it's finest! Answers: Yes, Awkwardness, Not really, I'ts Sigil man but i guess you've been there a lot more then me, Because it was comparable to all the other dialogues. @jarpie: Never gonna read that wall of text (it's not that I don't like reading chunks of text, but you know, it's just the forum ), but you're never gonna change my mind on this. I think that love between characters is doable, fun, unobstructive (if they make it so) and definitely not a minigame (unless they code it like that!)
  13. @jarpie: Ehrrrrrrrrrrrrr, like Annah in PST? That was nice and it wasn't nor obstructive nor forced. And I think it wasn't that expensive (time\resource wise). Not gonna argue vs the internet, I like keep my opinions simple.
