When you speak to Lady Webb she tells you that Theos may take hundreds of years to bring a plan to fruition. That explains to me why there is no need to rush the main quest. I see my character as bewildered, not knowing what is going on and searching for answers not racing to save the world from impending doom. Having an occasional quest with a time limit is fine and can add excitement to the game but being under pressure to complete quets in a certain amount of time would take a lot of the fun out of the game for me.

I mean the latter - but I'd expect the basic idea of a trap to be the same (it should either trigger and then roll for a hit/miss or roll for a hit/miss and then trigger). We can't set odd-shaped trap areas but why would the basic mechanics of a trap be different for party v. enemy traps? I agree especially as we get the traps by disarming a trap. The two are related and should be consistent.
-
"magically appear?" You get traps in your inventory when you disarm them Have a very nice day. -fgalkin Yes, but to me it is still "magical". No problem for me and I am not complaining.
-
This is the only use I have for it. I check for unique items as I loot to see if someone could use it or it is good for adding enchantment for so for someone to use it. I usually have plenty of available slots in a party member's inventory to hold out items I want to keep. But a sell all button would be great.
-
Well they are freebies, magically appear in your inventory and you can sell them. Not a total waste.
-
I mostly just sell the traps. I have found them of little value otherwise.

If Pillars of Eternity had romances
Nakia replied to Adahnon's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Ancient Greeks had a couple of other words to describe states of love. 1) Pragma, or longstanding love 2) Philautia, or love of the self - this had two types. Narcissism and the other was a healthier type that actually enhanced your ability to love others. -

I would assume that without the right equipment they would also lack certain feelings. So if someone is incapable of having sex they can't have love? Have you ever heard of a eunuch being in love? Yes, I have known disabled people who were "in love" but there again we have a specific narrow usage of the world love. It is quite possible to love someone without being "in love" with them. -

I would assume that without the right equipment they would also lack certain feelings. So if someone is incapable of having sex they can't have love? Oh, come on. There's got to be a sexual element, I think. I'm no love expert. No there doesn't. That is a very narrow definition of love. It excludes Parents and children, love between siblings, between close friends. the Biblical brotherly love. You can have love without sex and sex without love. I think that is beautiful. Thank you for posting it. -

C. S. Lewis wrote about the four types of love. He considered friendship to be love. I agree with him. -

What does Hiravius know? Because she has feathers? Pallegina has been taught to think of herself as a brother so I think she would be most apt to be interested in women if she has any interest at all. Eder, Sagani and Kana are the most sane and stable ones in the group. Durance is in love with his goddess. Alor already has a problem with a female and does not need more. The GM is interesting and there are possibilities there. Hiravius could be dangerous. Not really a lot of good choices there in my opinion. If OE decides to include romances in the future there will need to be more characters to choose from. -

WHY DO YOU CARE!!!!??? I don't want other gaming companies to do crap like this. I don't like being taken for a fool. Who's taking you for a fool? Well pretty much anyone who's ever read his posts for starters. ROTFLMAO, this I have to respond to. You are so right. Best post I have seen today. Love it. -
Here are my personal thoughts on this topic. Companions first. I enjoy the companions in PoE and their quests. They aren't as good as the ones in BG II but that was a sequel. Practice makes better. So hopefully they will improve in the future. Crafting and enchanting. I love crafting and enchanting in games. In PoE you need someone with the mechanic skill. You only get six points to put to skills when you level up so you need to use them wisely. Crafting and enchanting can be done any where if you have the mechanic skill, the ingredients and the cps. For enchanting it is best to start with an item that already has an upgrade or enchantment on it. Could crafting and enchanting in PoE be improved? Definitely, it is over simplified and boring.

Who is only considering you a sex object and not a person capable of contributing to the adventure as an equal? Just one person. But he's loud. @Duncan: You're so vain. You must have thought her comment's about you. That is quite true, scrotiemcb, and I have tangled with him in other threads, it gets tiresome. And no I was not refering in any way to Duncan. Thank you for clarifying that. -

Prostitution is not romance and has nothing to do with romance. It already is included in the game. The word romance implies at least some minimal emotional relationship between the folk involved. :sigh: I really wish certain people would realize that women play these games too. Personally I find being considered only as a sex object and not a person, intelligent and capable of contributing to the adventure as an equal very insulting. -

Actually my example of the Stronghold is not a good one. It was a stretch goal and so OE is legally required to provide it. I wouldn't stalk them or threaten to kill them but I could sue them if they took it out. As for changing things in the game especially after it has been released all I can say to the devs is this: Be careful about changing something simply because someone does not like it. The chances are you will turn a happy game player into an irate one. One publisher I will not name has annoyed me to the point I will not purchase a game they publish no matter how good my friends say it is. Sure my purchase won't make a difference but if others get upset and stop buying maybe some day it will. edit: Every time a dev gives into a demand that only encourages the demanders to come back and demand more. It is a no win situation. -

And please let us leave them there. So far I have romances if you can call them that either boring, intrusive, disruptive,. We do have some quests in PoE that deal with love lost and found and questionable. Player character romances I consider more trouble than they are worth or just plain boring with no substance. As far as the scripted companions I do find them interesting but you have to talk to them. -

Some one should have told Robin Hood and Little John that quarterstaff's were NOT melee weapons.
