  1. Yeah, I'd love to have this as an option. Descriptive text being narrated feels so wrong.
  2. Uh what? I don't really care, I'm not going to watch any streams, but what's with the favoritism?
  3. The main story was what I enjoyed most about Pillars 1, so that I guess. I'm hoping Woedica will play a large role in the game. Also Ydwin
  4. Missing dialogue bothers me a lot too, but how would this even work? The companions come with you but don't participate in combat? The companions don't come with you but are somehow still communicating with you? Neither of those solutions seem like good ones.
  5. Much like in the DnD universe, the concept of faith is more about your devotion to a god or the gods as a whole. If you're considered "faithless" then it means you refuse to worship any god. I think you're right when it comes to using the word in a "I have faith in Berath" type of way. It just means that you believe he'll guide your soul to the next life smoothly or reward your worship in him. You'd use it the same way you might use it with a person e.g. you have faith that your husband won't cheat on you.
  6. Depends on what the default choices are for companions. If Xoti/Tekehu/Serafen make more sense as multi-class then I'll make them multi-class. And my Watcher may go multiclass if Priest of Woedica gets added, which it probably won't
  7. I like portraits as a concept a lot, what I don't like is being flooded with fugly immersion-breaking backer portraits. It wouldn't bother me if a lot of "normal" portraits were being added in Deadfire too but that doesn't seem to be the case - the only new portrait that looks natural is the blonde female orlan.
  8. I don't know, anon's Pallegina portrait looks a lot more faithful than the official one. Both her and Eder's portraits have received criticism since we first saw them because people thought they don't sell the characters and look off. The other edits may be fanservice but Pallegina's seems like a genuine attempt to fix the official version.
  9. God bless that anon, they even made a death stare Ydwin based on her first portrait
  10. I'm liking the dualclass options for the sidekicks, mindstalker for Ydwin is especially cool. I hope the default choices for the companions are the ones that suit them most e.g. Aloth as wizard only but Xoti as priest/monk.
  11. God, I hope the reputation system isn't as awful as it was in Tyranny. Companion loyalty being broken down into different topics gives me a lot of hope that they'll do it right.
  12. This was a pleasant surprise, I was expecting much later than that. Now to go finish off my current playthrough in preparation...
  13. Truly a tragedy. I thought the Ydwin fans would at least pull us closer to the last goal, but alas they failed me. Damn those nerds and their fleeting infatuations. We were dedicated. It's the rest of you that let us down!
  14. Lady Webb, Iovara and Thaos were the only characters holding the story together. They could've been written better (and Lady Webb desperately needed a portrait), but the game would've been much worse off without them.
  15. I don't mind unvoiced dialogue. I do mind that most of it tends to be boring encyclopedia talk that puts me to sleep.
  16. After reading her description again... Assuming that this is still accurate, I agree with the portrait change. I really liked the first portrait but it's important to have one that matches the character. She's still perfect and I'm sure I'll come to love the new portrait as well.
  17. I was really hoping for Woedica being added as a deity option, but I guess they have to draw the line somewhere.
  18. If you were in love with a fictional character too you would understand. Ydwin is perfect and her portrait has to be perfect as well!
  19. Much better than the horrific Pallegina and Eder portraits. Please don't let those ones make it to launch.
