Weapon mechanics
I'd like to see multiple weapon modes. As in using a spear as a piercing weapon or as a blunt weapon, for example.

Killing companions
Consequences make RPGs good. Consequences need choices. Artificially removing an expected choice from an RPG makes that RPG less good.

So, realtime with pause...
IE games are not turn based, as individual actions are taken concurrently. Pausing an IE game every 6 seconds doesn't make it turn based.

How should magic work?
Seriously? I thought the appeal of AD&D was that fighters could really kick ass, magic was a tool just as relevant as a sword and normal fighters really could beat the crap out of wizards with pure strength. It was 3.5E that made magic seriously OP, more like a "super-power". I mean in a setting where magic is common, it should be as relevant as any other style of combat. I'm not talking about making magic less relevant than physical fighting. Instead, I'd like them to be balanced appropriately, something I feel the IE games didn't do.

Spellcasting system vs. Sleep spamming
Something like the system suggested here would tickle my fancy.

Gay and Lesbian Inclusiveness!
I don't think lesbian and gay cahracters should be mandated from the get go. Lesbian or gay characters should be included if the writers feel that the characters' sexual orientation is important to tell their story or show the themes that are central to their world building. Defining the sexual orientation of specific characters before doing anything else is a bad idea. If anyone has a problem with a thread or post, use the report function. Posts that are deemed belligerent and inappropriate will be deleted.

Please, NO GUNS!
This thread is running off topic, and guns have been confirmed, so topic closed.

will the game use the actual Infinity Engine or a newer engine with similar flavor?
I would be very surprised if they don't use Onyx or a heavily modified variation of Onyx.

How should magic work?
I've thought for a long time that a system similar to the one you suggest with exhaustion would work well. I'd add a system where higher level mages could mitigate exhaustion for low level spells. To take a D&D example, I think a 12th level mage should be able to cast magic missile as often as he wishes without a penalty with the caveat, of course, that low level spells should have limited to no use against similarly levelled enemies.

The Value of Gold
A dynamic game economy would go a long way towards improving the problems with money in RPGs.

What would make you pledge more?
Getting a hefty raise. I've already pledged $140 and I will probably raise that to 250.

Please, NO GUNS!
But you have no problem going up with a sword against a guy who can shoot fire out his ass (magic user)? Makes sense. As long as the magic user has to point his bum at you to get a hit, the fight should be considered fair.

Do you want firearms in Project Eternity?
It doesn't matter, as long as it's well integrated within the setting. Enlightenment fantasy RPG?

The Old Guard Roll Call
I only ever lurked the BIS boards. At that time my internet browsing was done mostly on my university's network so time was limited. Because we were playing LAN based Quake, instead.

Death
A death system similar to Storm of Zehir would be ideal. Also, if magical resurrection is used, party NPC feedback to deaths and resurrections should be done, in the interest of a game world that is reactive and alive. Aditionally, repeated resurrection should have increasing costs, monetary or otherwise.
