  1. I'm really hoping they can make this work.
  2. I think there's a good chance this will turn out more like Resident Evil in space than a new System Shock.
  3. Before the industrial revolution it was the only way to make an Empire great. Ethically speaking, slavery is a terrible thing but, without it, humanity would still be in the stone age.
  4. You make it sound like enslaving half the world is an easy task.
  5. If true, the Ion Zerg bit is priceless.
  6. 8am PST. 2 hours from now, I think.
  7. Pidesco replied to Kor Qel Droma's topic in Way Off-Topic
No, he wasn't. The Oceanic 6 were on the plane. And besides he wasn't a survivor of the crash.
  8. BG1 NPCs? They had almost no personality whatsoever. I mean, it was funny hearing Minsc and Xan's bit lines, for example, but they were practically not written at all, when compared to Fallout 2 or BG2.
  9. Kings of Convenience - The Passenger
  10. Awesome! I almost enjoy new info more than new games...
  11. What these morons have trouble understanding, is that life on Earth can take humanity on and survive. The point of not hurting the environment isn't to save it, but rather to save ourselves.
  12. I think the characters were a lot stronger in BG2 than in KOTOR, although that was, at least partially, due to presentation.
  13. When I compared BG2 to KotOR, I wasn't talking about the plot, but rather the gameplay, and NPC development. It's the same core game, except that you control fewer characters thus removing much of the tactical gameplay in BG2, the roleplaying system is more limited, and the combat is a lot easier. Finally, NPC development is tied to your level instead of depending on time spent together, and location. As for the plot, the twist was terribly hamfisted, and could be seen coming from a mile away, by a blind man standing in fog, wearing sunglasses, an eyepatch and with his hands over his eyes. Other than that, it did the job of keeping the game going.
  14. I'm not talking about using the forum, I'm talking about the fact that this forum in its entirety is dedicated to Obsidian. It would seem odd to hang out here if you weren't a fan of at least one of their titles. It was really directed more at Pidesco and his retarded bastard comment. Well, my jab was me trying to point out that I think KotOR was Bioware's attempt at trying to make BG2 in way that'd be attractive to the average console 'tard. Not that I think that console players are 'tards, but rather that a lot of PC devs who made the console jump, design their games as if they think console players are 'tards. As for KotOR, I did enjoy it the first time, mostly because it felt like a step up from NWN1's OC and I was playing a jedi in an RPG for the first time. Other than that, I thought the combat was pretty bad, the main characters were atrocious, the minigames were lame, and playing an evil Jedi Forcebully was underwhelming to say the least. Basically, the gameplay felt like BG2 for dummies. Also, as nowadays I'm sick and tired of Star Wars, I've begun to see KotOR in a more negative light. The best about KotOR1 was that it felt like Star Wars, while the best about KotOR2 was that it didn't feel like Star Wars.
  15. I distinctly remember having people hopping for a few seconds on one leg because I shot the other one off in GTAIII.
  16. Ooh, nice. The body parts thing was already in GTA3, though.
  17. Better how? Do the gun mechanics now go beyond pointing and shooting? Is there recoil, or something?
  18. There's cover? Is there any point to it?
  19. Isn't the gameplay more or less the same except for the car physics?
  20. I'd say KOTOR is like the retarded, bastard son of a western RPG and a JRPG.
  21. I was under the impression that San Andreas and Vice City were better at what GTA4 does.
  22. The Legend of Zelda Shadowrun Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen At least these ones aren't.
  23. Zelda is awesome and all, but it's as much a RPG as Devil May Cry is.
  24. The quality standards for JRPGs are rather low, though. JRPGs just seem to have, mostly, been going nowhere for the past 20 years. Also, when a JRPG shows up that tries to innovate or change something, it generally gets either ignored or trashed.
  25. I'm confused. If you want a believable and immersie role playing experience, then why do you play Bioware's RPGs? And also, what, exactly do you mean by lack of customization?
