  1. What these morons have trouble understanding, is that life on Earth can take humanity on and survive. The point of not hurting the environment isn't to save it, but rather to save ourselves.
  2. I think the characters were a lot stronger in BG2 than in KOTOR, although that was, at least partially, due to presentation.
  3. When I compared BG2 to KotOR, I wasn't talking about the plot, but rather the gameplay, and NPC development. It's the same core game, except that you control fewer characters thus removing much of the tactical gameplay in BG2, the roleplaying system is more limited, and the combat is a lot easier. Finally, NPC development is tied to your level instead of depending on time spent together, and location. As for the plot, the twist was terribly hamfisted, and could be seen coming from a mile away, by a blind man standing in fog, wearing sunglasses, an eyepatch and with his hands over his eyes. Other than that, it did the job of keeping the game going.
  4. I'm not talking about using the forum, I'm talking about the fact that this forum in its entirety is dedicated to Obsidian. It would seem odd to hang out here if you weren't a fan of at least one of their titles. It was really directed more at Pidesco and his retarded bastard comment. Well, my jab was me trying to point out that I think KotOR was Bioware's attempt at trying to make BG2 in way that'd be attractive to the average console 'tard. Not that I think that console players are 'tards, but rather that a lot of PC devs who made the console jump, design their games as if they think console players are 'tards. As for KotOR, I did enjoy it the first time, mostly because it felt like a step up from NWN1's OC and I was playing a jedi in an RPG for the first time. Other than that, I thought the combat was pretty bad, the main characters were atrocious, the minigames were lame, and playing an evil Jedi Forcebully was underwhelming to say the least. Basically, the gameplay felt like BG2 for dummies. Also, as nowadays I'm sick and tired of Star Wars, I've begun to see KotOR in a more negative light. The best about KotOR1 was that it felt like Star Wars, while the best about KotOR2 was that it didn't feel like Star Wars.
  5. I distinctly remember having people hopping for a few seconds on one leg because I shot the other one off in GTAIII.
  6. Ooh, nice. The body parts thing was already in GTA3, though.
  7. Better how? Do the gun mechanics now go beyond pointing and shooting? Is there recoil, or something?
  8. There's cover? Is there any point to it?
  9. Isn't the gameplay more or less the same except for the car physics?
  10. I'd say KOTOR is like the retarded, bastard son of a western RPG and a JRPG.
  11. I was under the impression that San Andreas and Vice City were better at what GTA4 does.
  12. The Legend of Zelda Shadowrun Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen At least these ones aren't.
  13. Zelda is awesome and all, but it's as much a RPG as Devil May Cry is.
  14. The quality standards for JRPGs are rather low, though. JRPGs just seem to have, mostly, been going nowhere for the past 20 years. Also, when a JRPG shows up that tries to innovate or change something, it generally gets either ignored or trashed.
  15. I'm confused. If you want a believable and immersie role playing experience, then why do you play Bioware's RPGs? And also, what, exactly do you mean by lack of customization?
  16. Linky The text is tiny which makes it a bit hard to read, but totally worth it.
  17. i think ME is biowares best game since kotor and it deserved to be game of the year...u should definately get it!! That's not saying much, though, is it? And I agree that MotB is an exceptional campaign and story. Much better than any of the NWN1 OCs (whether it's better than some of the community campaigns...*shrugs*) I don't think that they have addressed all the problems with the engine yet, and it still lacks the degree of customization the original had. NWN2 right now is a good vehicle for short to medium length SP campaigns (in terms of community building). But it is an inferior vehicle for long SP campaigns or MP play. As a result, it has not picked up a core piece of the original's audience, nor do I think it will. Let me put the importance of the toolset as a technical innovation in perspective on a personal level. If it were not for the community content of NWN, I would 'never' have picked up NWN2 at all. I dumped NWN once, and only bought it a second time because people insisted I give it a chance 'for the community content.' I would still be playing Morrowind, which I think was preferable "out of the box" to NWN1 or NWN2...and certainly Oblivion. In truth, I'd still probably be playing KotOR 1 & 2 and have little/no concern with fantasy setting RPGs (save perhaps the Witcher). It's only the community content and customization that Bioware built into NWN1 that gave that game it's legs. Like it or hate it, it represented a significant risk in terms of time and resources to create it and offer it to the community. Well, I don't know about MP as I never tried it, but I thought that NWN1's engine was pretty awful for long SP campaigns. Only allowing for one player controlled character really hurt the variety and my interest in playing anything longer than a few hours on NWN1's engine. Finally, the toolset really doesn't enter into the discussion of Bioware's abilities in making RPGs.
  18. Well, MotB was a truly finished RPG from Obsidian, and I'd say it blows Bioware's last few games completely out of the water. I have yet to play ME, though.
  19. I'd just like to say that those prices seem a bit high compared to what is available here in Portugal. Also, if you want a slightly worse graphics card, go with a 9600GT. However, if you're going to use this rig for gaming, I suggest you skimp out on the processor instead of the graphics card. With most games, the graphics card is the bottleneck, not the processor.
  20. McCain could do that, seeing as he is, like, 102.
  21. Not having an mp3 radio station in GTA must really suck.
  22. I'm really hoping Mirror's Edge fulfills its potential.
  23. Kings of Convenience - Know-How
  24. Geometry Wars. No leaderboard. What the hell is up with that?
