  1. THe problem wasn't not experiencing Renaissance or the Age of Enlightenment, but rather not experiencing Reformation, which eventually stripped away whatever political power Christianity had.
  2. He's probably not an orthodox Jew, then. My point stands of course.
  3. Any graphic depiction of Muhammad is strictly in the Muslim religion. It's like the equivalent of forcing a Jew to eat pork. Only the reaction is extreme because the Muslims complaining are, well, extremists.
  4. Where did you that quote from? Edit: The answer is Voltaire.
  5. You do realize that posting links to videos with Linkin Park music is against the forum guidelines and Geneva Convention?
  6. I'd like to point out that the difference between Iran and about any catholic country, for example, is that in Iran the religious leaders are also the political leaders. There simply isn't any separation between church and state in Iran. If the pope had the same political power as Iranian religious leaders, European laws towards homosexuality and apostasy, wouldn't be all that different from those in Iran.
  7. Street Fighter IV. IT's kind of a 2.5D remake of the best fighting game ever, and it's coming to the PC. Faith No More
  8. I'm locking this, to prevent any problems that may arise over the posting of magazine scans. The topic stays here as a reminder.
  9. Go to Firewine bridge if you want, although the ruins can be annoying. There are some good items on the bridge map itself.
  10. Well, there's Viconia, but she's evil. Also, I think there's a dwarven fighter/cleric in the Cloakwood mines. There's also Quayle and Tiax but you can only get them inside Baldur's Gate. Tiax is also evil.
  11. Like the rest of the expansion content leave Durlag's tower for the end of the game. AS for ditching Khalid and Jaheira, go ahead and trade them for Dynaheir and Branwen. You shouldn't really need more than two warrior characters in your party.
  12. The Speechcraft minigame was an atrocious idea, that automatically made dialogues and characters feel artificial and mechanic. And they were already too mechanic and artificial even without the minigame.
  13. Captain America's greatest foe. Red Skull is his name.
  14. It isn't just the "Kill Bill" bit. It's also the infinite ammo, not being able to pick up weapons or bodies, and the supposed ability to "River Tam" enemies.
  15. I was thinking a bit about how they've described combat, and about that over the top, "Kill Bill",character artwork, and suddenly this is starting to sound like a Devil May Cry RPG with an option of stealth gameplay thrown in for good measure. Which would irritate a lot of the more hardcore RPGers, but could, to me, be totally awesome as it's just the kind of game I'd like to play. Also, in such a game, infinite ammo would be okay, of course. J.E. has said before that he'd like to make a game along these lines so maybe that's what AP is turning into. Now, with this in mind, I don't think the whole CIA agent, realism, Syriana angle would really work with such a game. This is the kind of game that I think would work better with a more lighthearted, humorous, and even satirical narrative, than with a standard action, conspiracy, taking-itself-very-seriously kind of storyline. The devs should really pop in and say something...
  16. Very nice screenshots. I like the style. Is this screenshot a cutscene, or ingame action?
  17. He does? Unless you're talking about Cate Archer, I don't think so.
  18. I forgot one question. How will health be handled in AP?
  19. It was the nastiest end possible for him. He lost his faith.
  20. Ejiofor's character in Serenity was never despicable. He just did what he felt was the right thing to do at all times. What happened at the end of Serenity was that his beliefs were shattered. He didn't suddenly get a conscience.
  21. Well, this article feels like a bit of a downer as far as the gameplay is concerned... All the talk about the simplified stealth and combat makes it sound like game world won't react a whole lot to the player's choices, and therefore that those choices generally won't have overarching consequences.I'd like the game's narrative to play out differently depending on how you get through the missions. Also, this tendency to take away the realism part of the game, seems really unfortunate. It makes that earlier Syriana quote seem a little pointless. On the up side, the dialog sounds mighty fine to me. As long as there isn't an actual timer on screen for the dialogue, that is. A few of questions for the devs: How linear will each specific mission be? Will each mission have different paths, different entry points, different exit points? Do the missions end when when you get to your objective, or do you then have to escape the facility you infiltrated? How is the dialogue integrated with the combat sections? Will there be options to bluff your way into buildings during missions, for example? Will there be non combat missions? A mission where you have to go into a casino, ingratiate yourself with the female croupier of your choice, and use her to get past the casino guards, for example.
  22. Perhaps it would be best if you sent them to anyone who requested them.
  23. So what happened to the scans?
