  3. I'll disagree here. BG got low level adventuring down great I thought. Introduced your character, their back story, you were able to discover some of Candlekeep, explore wilderness area's, meet NPC's, adventure to another area either (Beregost, Friendly Arm Inn) random encounters... it took you awhile to advance to 2nd level, I did not mind waiting. I distinctly remember throwing a single magic missile at a bear, and then running in circles with the bugger chasing me while Imoen pelted the stupid bear with arrows. Low level brilliance!
  4. Underpowered because a level 1 character has like a 40% chance of missing a blow on a stationary dead badger. Which not only makes no sense, but makes for exceedingly inane gameplay where nothing ever happens in combat other than two retarded muppets taking turns swinging at each other with sticks from half a meter away and missing all the freaking time. Boring because nothing happens. Literally.

  6. I'd start off with this: And this song at the end while everyone's leaving: The funeral in itself should be like a party, and I'd have to make a playlist of songs to play during said party(with Google's help): Cake - Sheep Go To Heaven Something by Nick Cave Eels - P.S. You Rock My World Something by The Toy Dolls Choking Victim - Born To Die Johnny Cash - When The Man Comes Around Something by Nina Simone Something by Billie Holiday
  7. Actually, thinking about it, it makes perfect sense to start at level 3 seeing as those first two levels are so boring and underpowered. Of course, what should actually be fixed is the rule system, but obviously with DnD that isn't an option. Besides, and correct me if I'm wrong, starting at level 3 was already what effectively happened in NWN2's OC where, generally, you reached level three before finishing the tutorial. I guess the only question left, is whether everyone starts at level 3 or if it depends on the race's ECL.
  8. Yes, why is that?
  9. Wow, you just perfectly described The Witcher. Up to a point, I've described most games. It's really just a question of the degree to which each developer follows this path. Also, I don't think the Witcher is the biggest culprit of such design philosophy. While the monster hunting quests were just meaningless filler, I thought a respectable percentage of its quests actually served a purpose in setting up the plot, the characters and the game world. I think the Witcher's biggest problem was the combat which, while full of great ideas, had a really pointless core combat mechanic.
  10. I don't eat at McDonald's ever. It tastes like crap, has low nutritional content, and there's much better food available, for similar prices.
  11. Maybe it's mostly due to increasing costs, but it seems to me that many developers are taking an all or nothing approach to game design. It's a design according to which you either appeal to everyone or there isn't any point in trying.
  12. I don't think western RPGs are being actually directly influenced by JRPGs. Correlation does not imply causation and all that. I do find it bitterly amusing that Bioware's games are turning into the sort of RPGs many Biofans were supposed to despise, without any of those fans complaining or even noticing.
  13. That ties with what I've been thinking of late which is that Bioware is slowly turning into the Squaresoft of Western RPGs, where meaningless, shallow gameplay just strings you from one cutscene to another. Bioware's games are a bunch of plot points strung up linearly through gameplay that actually has nothing whatsoever to do with the actual plot. Imagine if you were watching say, the Matrix, and after each of the movie's scenes you had to peel a bunch of potatoes before getting to see the next scene. Note that the peeling of the potatoes has no effect on The Matrix's plot other than serving as penance for the viewer to "earn" the whole plot. That's a Bioware game.

  15. You can get both from Steam without copy protection for 25 bucks plus VAT.
  16. Rooney looks like the one on the lower right whose name I can't remember. Edit: Scooter!
  17. Now if only Mcdonald's made tasty food.
  18. Well, this sucks...
  19. English players are generally overrated. Wayne Rooney would be the most obvious example.
  20. Germany [2] - Turkey [1] Spain [1] - Russia [3]
  21. Russia played a pretty good game, Xard.
  22. Does anyone doubt that the final will be Italy-Germany?
  23. Don't be stupid, be a smarty, come and join Worms World Party!
  24. Sure.
  25. Johao? The little forkers. Well, thanks MC That was just what I wanted to know. I'm guessing that that mod which changes leader's names works with this mod. Edit: Is Kingdoms required for this to work?
