heeeeeere cooooooomes the suuuuuuunnnnn kiiiiiiiiing - sorry, I couldn't resist. Edit: Okay, okay, on topic. Doesn't sound very Chosen One-esque to me, but I'm sure as you become more powerful you get further embroiled in major events. I don't see the big deal. I mean, nobody wants to play an RPG as a nobody. Here's your quest: go to the store for milk. Rewarded with 30 XP, and some lawful points if you don't steal it. Mus?: It's a Beatles reference. Back half of Abbey Road.

There's a new Star Wars forum here? News to me. Mayhap I'll mosey on over there... Edit: Bad idea. Well, once was enough.

The Twilight Singers - What Makes You Think You're The One New Twilight Singers CD "Powder Burns" coming out in May, with tour to follow!!!!

Hi-Standard - Happy X-mas (War is Over) Japanese punk trio that was on Fat Wreck Chords for a while. I don't think they're still around, but they put out some great CDs. "Making the Road" is a punk classic, IMO.

What cruise line was it? I took a Royal Caribbean cruise a few years back and did a few exercise programs to get this bright yellow t-shirt that said "I'm Ship-Shape." It's funny see, 'cause I got it on a ship. I've also been on a Celebrity cruise, which also yielded a cool t-shirt: plain white with the words "I'm a Celebrity" on the front.

Filthy Thievin' Bastards - Hopeless Vows To this day, I get the Goo Goo Dolls and the Gin Blossoms confused. I just can't differentiate between them.

GZA's Liquid Swords is a sweet rap album. Many people "in the know" consider it the finest solo effort by a Wu Tang member. I wouldn't consider myself "in the know" on this particular subject, but I do think Liquid Swords is pretty hot stuff. Aimee Mann - That's How I Knew This Story Would Break My Heart

There was something called "The Blackest Album" a while back that had a bunch of no-name (to me anyway) industrial bands covering Metallica songs. I don't remember too much of it, but whoever did "The Shortest Straw" did a great job.

@Eldar: KQD did an awesome T.O.M.B.S. report on me a while back. I'm glad you're thinkin o' me though! : DD's Eldar-inspired "buys a round for the gang" icon: @Everybody: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - The Waiting

I bought the first Audioslave album the day it came out, that's how much of a Cornell fan I was/am. I mean I defended the guy after that awful Letterman performance. Although that's nothing new... remember Pretty Noose on SNL? Yikes. I had always heard mixed things about Soundgarden live shows, which all happened before I started going to concerts, sadly. In fact the most glowing live Soundgarden review I've heard was from a guy who was on LSD at the time. He said the shade of purple they used in their light show was "really, really cool." When I did see Audioslave on Lollapalooza, they were great, though, so although Cornell is hit and miss he was on that day. I was disappointed with the second album though, which seems to go against the grain of critical opinion. I hear the new one they're working on will be "R&B influenced." I hope we're talking more Afghan Whigs than Usher.

Hey, nothin wrong with that. As you said, you WILL be buying it. Just don't pass judgment on the leaked version. I did that with the first Audioslave album... the leaked demos were awful. Final CD version was much better. Same with Frank Black's Honeycomb. Black Sabbath - Supernaut

Then why must you do it? "Profanity is the effort of an ignorant man to express himself forcefully." I forget who said that. Some smart*** mother******, probably. Edit: Queens of the Stone Age - Mosquito Song

Haha... "cookie monsters," I like it. I never could get into bands like that, although I have a good friend who loves them. I don't think I've ever laughed harder than when I saw a Six Feet Under video. That dude goes from the "cookie monster" grunting to this ridiculous squealing falsetto: "Rising from the graves/ we come to eat your brains / rising insane / i want to eat your brain" and so on.

The CD thing is pretty cool, I agree. I remember when my roommate's copy of Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation sparked up like the Fourth of July... ahhhhh those were the days. I recently bought a new microwave, because my old one (which was larger and heavier than my TV and had dials instead of buttons) expired. The new one is much smaller, and just as powerful. And it was only $35, too! Of course, your microwave sounds much cooler than mine.

@Eldar: I woke up Sunday mornin' with no way to hold my head that didn't hurt. And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad, so I had one more for dessert. @Laozi: What's up with Frank Black? Was he a musical guest or does Henry Rollins interview folks on this show of his? I saw Rollins Band on the Nice tour... How's his talk show? It's probably on cable, so I won't be able to watch it, but I bet it's pretty cool anyway. Badfinger - What You Are

That infomercial with Kenny Rogers was on last night. The one for some 10-disc set of country classics or something like that. You know the kind, scrolling list of songs down the middle of the screen, 10 second clips of the artists, BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! Anyway, it really threw into stark relief how much better Kenny Rogers was than his contemporaries. The lady hosting the show said KR had number one hits in FIVE decades. FIVE! On-topic of awesome country music: Willie Nelson - I Gotta Get Drunk

Oh come on, they aren't so bad. Yeah, they're very overrated, but at least Jack White is drawing from solid rootsy blues for his inspiration. The brother/sister thing was stupid and the whole red and white gimmick is just that, but they do make decent, albeit repetitive, music. And he beat the **** outta that guy from the Von Bondies, which was a good move in my book.

I like to dust off my copy of "De Stihl (possible egregious misspelling)" every now and then. Goldfinger - Here in Your Bedroom

If dropping in periodically to talk about what's in my CD player (and if it's worth anybody else listening to it) is wrong....... well then I don't want to be right. Besides, I've been turned on to several good bands from checking out other people's recommendations. I'm not going to stop now. LONG LIVE THE TRUE MUSIC THREAD! :D

ZING! I agree, but I'm not a good judge on the subject. After all, do you think somebody who's too cheap to pay for the internet is going to pay extra to play games on the internet?

Bon Jovi - Help! Great live Beatles cover, they slowed it down a little and made it piano only. Richie Sambora does a verse on lead vocals...it's gold.

My housemate from college tried to put on some Lovage to set the mood.... and it kinda freaked the girl. Not entirely surprising, I suppose. We had a good laugh about it later. I am a big fan of 1965 by the Afghan Whigs. Great album for listening and for, well... that too. Not as cerebral as Black Love, or even Gentlemen, but the band is cookin' and the production captured it all: guitars, horns, and sweet soul backup singers.

I'm about to finish my second playthrough of BG2. I suppose I should continue one of them on to TOB, but there's so many NPCs I haven't got a chance to know... Also, still occasionally playing DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball. The music is keeping me in touch with my inner 12-year-old girl. It's more catchy than the clap on a college campus. "
