  1. I'm playing this little game. Its incredibly addicting. I'm working on beating hard difficulty. http://www.kongregate.com/games/preecep/de...wer-defense-1-5
  2. Woke up, made myself some pancakes. They were excellent. Finally got off my ass and did a long workout at the gym to start getting myself ready for regular workouts again. I was slacking off during the Holidays. Now I'm have that almost euphoric feeling of being exhausted but relaxed. Just ordered some sushi and looking forward to a evening of watching some movies on the couch and relaxing.
  3. I knew about My Humps from that Will Ferrell movie, Blades of Glory. I liked the movie. Yes, I am not the most culturally sophisticated person.
  4. I'm more afraid for the kids and probably some adults, that watch and listen to that kind of music and actually take it seriously.
  5. Zoma, you are correct. When I heard first heard about Jade Empire, I visualized something very similar to the settings in Louis Cha's novels. I've read most of his books, (translated into Korean) and right now I am happily reading the 3rd edition of Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber, where he makes little revisions here and there. I know that some of his books have been translated into English, though I've never seen a copy. Though I have a suspicion that some things in his books translated into English will sound a bit funny, though it sounds totally natural in Chinese.
  6. Got a Nintendo DS for Christmas plus a few games. I got the cool red and black one. I've spent ridiculous amounts of time playing Puzzle Quest since Christmas. I also have Ace Attorney, Super Mario 64 DS and a DS Castlevania game. Looks like like happy gaming times for me in the new year. I'll probably pick up Contra 4, Lunar Knights, the other two Phoenix Wright games, Zelda, Mario Kart and some GBA games I want to play. (FF6 Advance) Man, I love my DS!
  7. I enjoyed Jade Empire, but it was very different from what I thought it would be. I didn't expect spirit monks and ethereal ghosts and transforming into demons/animals. Granted, Asian culture and fantasy do possess those aspects but it seemed far off from many wuxia novels and comics that I enjoy reading. I expected a vast explorable world with lots of martial arts schools vying for power with alliances, secret dealings and betrayals. You could help out various schools or destroy them. Seek out reclusive masters and learn forgotten or forbidden martial arts. Stuff like that. But, good to know that another game is coming.
  8. Watched all the aforementioned. I can still remember the Muppet Babies and that one show that starred the WWF wrestlers. Oh and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Oh and Voltron, Defender of the Universe and Robotech.
  9. You gotta wonder if we aren't some artificial DNA that developed sentient life. Maybe the galaxy is really just a swirl in a petri dish in some alien lab. That would be pretty interesting.
  10. Finally! This is all kinds of awesome.
  11. I usually play genres other than RPGs on my PS2 and Xbox. It sounds weird, but I feel a more personal attachment to my RPG persona when playing on the PC. On the couch with my feet up, I feel too relaxed and comfy to really get emotionally involved in a game. I know...weird Anyways, you should try playing other games for your consoles as well. Most games come cheap now for PS2 and Xbox. Try Ninja Gaiden Black, Prince of Persia, Crimson Skies, Zone of the Enders, Soul Caliber 2, Okami, Viewtiful Joe, Burnout 3, Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, Katamari, Resident Evil 4, R-type Final, Gradius 5(Hard to Find), Gladius (kinda like a tactical RPG...good fun), Mercenaries, etc. There are a lot of fun games out there besides RPG.
  12. This may be a silly question but do moderators get paid?
  13. I actually hope this game is released soon. I think I'd like to play a shooter that is comical, violent and has bad one liners. I think it'd be a nice change of pace from recent shooters. Also Strippers in Hi-def couldn't hurt. *checks into mental Tale's mental institution*
  14. This is tragic indeed. I hope Alexis pulls through. As for the culprit, reading the article, looks like the defense might be going for the insanity plea. In either case, he should be locked up.
  15. Apple Pie Blackberry Pie I like pie
  16. Torment. I've played this game on every computer I've ever owned since college. Including my two work computers. I feel like I have to bless any computer that comes into my hands with the game. BUT The BG series is what got me hooked on RPGs. Before that I was mostly into FPS games. I read a magazine article about BG when I was in highschool (in Korea of all places) and the idea of getting a group of adventurers together and traveling around doing quests appealed to me. I got the game during my first year of college and promptly played for around a week non-stop. Assignments and projects be damned. I didn't know anything about AD&D at the time and didn't bother to read the manual. I slowly figured out that lower AC and Thac0 was better and other basic rules. It got me started on playing all sorts of RPGs so BG will always have a special place in my heart.
  17. Just languishing at work. Can't wait until Christmas
  18. Will you buy 2 Bok?
  19. I'm not familiar with Shadowrun or Mechwarrior, but Crimson Skies for the Xbox was a lot of fun. I always hoped for more.

    skiing

not if you already know how to surf... THAT is ridiculously hard to learn, particularly when you weigh 225 lbs. (240 now). people tend to think this, then they accidentally slide onto a black and realize that it will take a few more weeks to get things going. taks Surfing is another thing I've wanted to try since moving to California. Then I saw a documentary of local surfers (in Hawaii I think) beating the snot out of someone for trespassing on their territory or breaking some rule or something. I've been too scared to try ever since. I suppose years of learning to fall down on my back will help me out with snowboarding though. Finally my various martial arts lessons will pay off. heh

    skiing

I like skiing. Its fun. But I'm gonna learn how to snowboard this winter. Ridiculously hard eh?
  22. How does DMC combat compare with Ninja Gaiden? I heard its insanely difficult in higher difficulties, but in the way that you have to survive wave after wave of enemies with no respite. Never played it, so don't know. I really like Ninja Gaiden combat. I should really go back to it and finish Master Ninja Mode. I got stuck on the first level on master ninja.
  23. Wow, the man is a genius! Thanks for the link.
  24. As long as it doesn't adversly affect Starcraft 2.
  25. As for me, I visit game sites to get news on games I'm looking forward to and the occasional nostalgia factor when the sites puts up a good read on past games and systems. I also like to keep track of the gaming scene in general, as in who is doing what, how the consoles are doing, new versions of consoles, price drops etc. I don't even own the current consoles but its cool to see what is out there. Entertainment is another factor. There is one segment I enjoy at 1up called Broken Pixels where they make fun of laughably bad games. I enjoy watching that one. I read reviews on games just to glean some information on whether I should consider it for purchase down the line, when the prices have gone down and I actually own the console they are playable in. An exceptionally good review won't make me rush out and buy a game. The full retail price tag is a sufficient deterrent in my case. I'm a cheap cheap man. Anyhoo, its a shame if the guy did get fired over a negative review of a game. I try not to let review scores influence me that much. I've enjoyed some games that received somewhat negative reviews. (Warrior Within....I liked it), but I'll agree that honest reviews help give people a heads up on mediocre games that have been hyped entirely too much.
