  1. You factor in a combination of A) Is the player playing at an elite level? B) Is the player's team a strong contender? Atlanta, like the Spurs last year, don't have a dominant player, so therefore they don't have any legitimate MVP candidates. Curry's lockbox tight case is that his team is playing at near historic levels, and that he individually is having the best season of any player in the league. Harden fits box A & B. But the Rockets aren't as good as the Warriors, and Curry is having the better season (arguable, but true). PS The Warriors roster this season is essentially the same as last year's squad that won 51 games. I place alot of the credit in their team and individual player performance on coaching.
  2. I'm actually in the Pro-Lebron camp and I agree, D-Rose robbed Lebron. There have been countless studies on this, but for elite athletes (for a litany of reasons) their prime years are generally ages 26-29. This is pretty universal from track & field, tennis, hoops, baseball, etc. Look at James. His body started to fail him in the playoffs last year. This year, he is obviously not as explosive and his back is giving out. He's still an elite player and will be for a handful more seasons...but let's not delude ourselves into thinking that he'll be the same hyper efficient Lebron during his Miami years. When healthy, Lebron James is the best player in the game. Durant #2. Lebron has missed significant time, as has Durant. The stars are in alignment and this is probably Curry's best shot at actually winning an MVP. Hopefully there aren't too many knuckleheads that'll vote Harden over Curry. Golden State is having a magical season and I am hoping against all hope that they don't turn into the 2001 Mariners. I've suffered through too many years of awful Oakland basketball to deserve this type of a C-tease.
  3. Golden State would do their due diligence and think long and hard about a Curry for Lebron trade...before ultimately politely decling, hanging up then ROFLOPTING. Curry is 4 years younger and just entering his prime. Lebron has already reached his peak and his body is starting to decay The trade won't work for Golden State because they'll need a PG and they have a surplus of wings and tweeners. The Warriors are the best team and no team has been this dominant since the 96 Bulls. Why do something silly and trade away their leader and best player? *edit* "Do I also need to remind you what happened when he missed 7-8 games earlier? L0L" Missing games is actually a negative mark against your MVP candidacy. "Vegas and the Experts." They set the standards and lines like it or not. Again, against this standard and expectations, Lebron and the Cavaliers are grossly under-performing.
  4. Bioware and James Ohlen absolutely got Star Wars right with Knights of the Old Republic. The lightsaber fights looked cool. When the twist happened, that was the first and only time I probably had such a visceral holy S**** reaction in a video game --outside of my being freaked out from the haunted hotel in VTM:B Jolee Bindo and HK-47 were fun and memorable NPC's. Props to Gaider. Bastilla was cool --as the prissy princessy type The Korriban double cross was really good fun. Again, props to Gaider. The game's overall quality allowed Obsidian to follow up with the sequel =)
  5. Putting lines on the bet? I don't know just how much Sensuki knows about the inns from looking into the game files --thereby potentially spoiling the lines, but we know that 5 inns were backed on Kickstarter, and maybe 1 through Paypal. Therefore the over/under itself has to be 7. I'll take the under at 6.
  6. "The romantic NPC should be picky, it's obvious he/she has high standards. In Planescape: Torment, we made it pretty clear that Annah and Fall-From-Grace didn't express interest in just anyone, and the player was the only one out of thousands that ever piqued their interest." http://forums.obsidian.net/blog/1/entry-79-blog-o-romance/
  7. Volo, No. I’ve already demonstrated raw numbers depicting what happens when both Curry and Lebron are on and off the court for their respective teams. Curry has a greater positive impact than does Lebron. No knock, as these two have greater impact on their team’s performance by a wide margin than any other players in the league. This includes Harden, Durant, Westbrook, Gasol, Z-Bo. As far as the talent disparity, look at all the preseason predictions by both Vegas and the Experts. Golden State received very little love, and the Cavs were the odds on favorite to win the title. Read my original post on this thread. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/68989-pro-hoops-2k14-2k15/?p=1523385 Here’s ESPN: http://espn.go.com/nba/notebook/_/page/nba1415/2014-15-nba-champion-predictions Of the 28 “pundits,” 14 chose Cleveland. 1 chose Golden State (and he happens to be a local Bay Area writer). Dubs over/under for the season was 50 ½ games. Golden State was 30-1 to win the chip. Cleveland’s over/under was 59. They were 3-2 favorites to be champs. Curry and the Warriors are absolutely crushing these predictions while Cleveland is severely under-performing against expectation. How can Lebron be MVP when: A) He's having a down year B) His team this season is not even going to come close to the over/under.
  8. I'll comment after work and the Cavs v Dubs tonight.
  9. What are some lessons you have learned from this Kickstarter and what would you would change for future Kickstarter campaigns, should you go this route again?
  10. My reaction to the twist was like a YouTube Ned Stark reaction video.
  11. I can read Feargus. What a rockstar. He only needs to go by one name.
  12. Jeeze. Get with the tymes. If you wasn't a physical copy, they'll mail you a floppy disc if you send them a pre-stamped self-addressed envelopes requesting a patch.
  13. Not likely. Digital versions are tied to Steam or GOG and retail versions will be tied to Steam. Those with physical DRM free backer versions will most likely have to download the patches manually --old school nostalgia style.
  14. Yep, it really is him: http://www.gamewatcher.com/interviews/pillars-of-eternity-interview/12162 Cool. I'll backtrack and say that it was a pretty decent interview. "...but we know there are already backer beta players on our forums making mods. They’re making UI mods, graphical mods, they clearly hate the things I’ve designed… Which is great, you know, if they want to change balance or flip around the UI screen, why would we have any problem with that?" Bwahahaha!
  15. Josh Sawyer ‏@jesawyer signing tyme #pillarsofeternity https://instagram.com/p/zdmF_zJx37/?modal=true … That's probably mine that they're signing.
  16. It's possible but it'll be difficult. There's even going to be an achievement for soloing on Path of the Damned with Expert Mode on Ironman. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/69665-path-of-the-damned-discussion/page-2?do=findComment&comment=1548589 http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/70134-triple-crown-solo-achivement-for-pod-expert-mode-ironman-solo/?hl=solo
  17. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/c/curryst01/on-off/2015/ Warriors are +16.8 pts per 100 possessions with Curry on the court Warriors are -0.6 pts per 100 possessions with Curry off the court. Net total of +17.4 pts. 115.9 Offensive Efficiency 99.1 Defensive Efficiency http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jamesle01/on-off/2015/ Cavs are +9.9 pts per 100 possessions with Lebron on the court. Cavs are -6.2 pts per 100 possessions with Lebron off the court. Net total of +16.1 pts. 115.2 Offensive Efficiency 105.2 Defensive Efficiency Actually, it's closer than I thought. Warriors are average without Curry. Cavs are terrible without Lebron. Dubs are the better team overall and Curry the better player this year.
  18. Nah. Steph got this.
  19. http://www.gamewatcher.com/news/2015-24-02-obsidian-pillars-of-eternity-will-grow-with-traditional-expansion-wants-improvements-rolled-into-a-free-patch I do find it strange that the quotes aren't attributed to a specific developer. I don't doubt the veracity of the statements...but still, that's pretty shoddy journalism. I figure it'd have been Sawyer though.
  20. Hahaha! This reminds me of Top Gear's "Sensible" review of the Ford Fiesta (Series 12 Episode 6). Classic.
  21. Derrick Rose to undergo surgery to repair torn meniscus discovered today after MRI. This sucks.
  22. Are Paladins considered Knights? Is this a title reserved exclusively for nobles of martial disposition? Or are these titles also granted to those who have attained achievement in their respective professions e.g., Francis Bacon, Isaac Newton, and Thomas More?
  23. The TotSC or HoW style expansion would be my preference.
  24. I don't think Adam was referring to you. I think it was more of a general rhetorical regarding whether if their discussion was too esoteric or technical for the layperson outside of the game development community.
