  1. It's a 95/96 because it is a damn near perfect game.

  3. From reading the interview (and I may be a little behind the curve on this), I am under the assumption that there is going to be a paradigm shift in the pure technology dept. of next generation consoles and pc's. Is that true? Will the PS3 and XBOX 360 be more powerful than the PC? Atleast upon release?
  4. Do you you actually think anybody is that shallow to try and start a political debate just to get his post count up?! That would be, by far, the sadest thing I have ever heard!!! Sure these debates come and go but politics don't ever get old! It's a way of finding out how the people we're talking to tick. I gues you've be here long enough, but i would like to here what other people are all about. I know it won't matter one bit in the real world, but if there are more people like you, who post frequently (check your post count), this could turn into a healthy conversation between people who have more on their minds than just fun and games. No offense Flatus, but that's about as "NONVIOLENT" as I can be when I'm reading a post like yours! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Political discussions here get ugly. Very ugly. Makes good entertainment actually.
  5. I remember I had that same problem when the patch came out. Eventually, I just did a fresh install.
  6. You're probably asking the wrong crowd then. Most of us here are big fans of the games listed above which you didn't care for. Not that there is a board consensus for recommended rpgs, but if there were, the Fallouts, PST's, and BG's would be it.
  7. It's a good, fun game. So yes. Check that, it's a great game.
  8. Avoid Kevin J. Anderson's Jedi Academy series. Timothy Zahn's books could be used as a litmus test for EU novels: Heir to the Empire Dark Force Rising The Last Command If you like them, then you could branch out. Unfortunately I did, and didn't like what I read.
  9. I liked Redemption and the TOTJ series in general. But the quality is still pretty bad. Redemption was poorly plotted by Anderson; The pacing was off, and there were too many subplots going on. What worked for it was: Chris Gossett's art, the personal nature of the story, and the redemption theme. The story was fine, but KJA botched its execution. It's easily the best of the TOTJ series, but KJA is still a relatively poor writer.
  10. As long as it's not written by Kevin J. Anderson. "
  11. I didn't get into Imperial City until after the 20 hour mark. That's some mighty quick "exploring".
  12. Is it too early for NJ as well?
  13. I thought FOT was a fun game. Then I played JA2. I haven't gone back to FOT since.
  14. I'm over 25 hours in and still in chapter 3.
  15. "I like them. But the general quality of these books are quite bad. ...well, mostly bad." "Suckage, except for Redemption. That one's actually pretty good." Redemption was titled Redemption for a reason.
  16. I like them. But the general quality of these books are quite bad. ...well, mostly bad.
  17. I'll go with SPECIAL too. S: 6 Good P: 4 Fair E: 7 V. Good C: 5 Avg I: 6 Good A: 8 Great L: 5 Avg Traits: Fast Metabolism, Small Frame Tag Skills: Gambling, First Aid, Barter 9 Action Points baby!
  18. I'd watch it. Especially if the showrunner is someone really talented.
  19. "I had a total of 5 roleplaying choices over the course of 2 hours of playing." That is actually a lot. Fallout had around 50 or so quests? Divide that by the 30-40 hours it takes to complete it. Anyways, IMO, JE is a well-crafted rpg with challenging real time combat. I'm sure that there will be more than a few veteran crpg fans who may not appreciate Bioware streamlining the game for more broad market appeal. It's a tradeoff, but I certainly won't be surprised if some of the more open-minded fans give it a shot and would in turn actually grow to like it.
  20. No Master Uthar or Yuthura Ban options? Triple cross anyone? Quadruple cross?
  21. Since I don't want to type up a mini-review of my own, I'll just mostly agree with Volourn. The combat isn't too difficult, but it is far from being easy. I'm getting the impression that this is a really well-balanced and polished game from Bioware. Looking at the back of the manual, it looked liked up to 200 Biowarians alone literally were involved with the project.
  22. Alan Moore is a comic book GOD! I read the first one. Now I have to read the second one.
  23. "Well, you said their reviews were the most trustworthy... whistling.gif" When (or where) did I write or imply that? I may have written that gamespot's review of JE was the most useful for me. But that's all I can think of. Sheesh, you and your absolutes.
  24. "That explains why KOTOR was rated 9.1 (and 8.8 for xobox) while NWN was rated 9.2 by your precious GS good. LOL" What do gamespot's ratings for those two games have anything to do with my opinion of them? For the record, Gamespot is not precious to me. Not anymore so than a Roger Ebert or Elvis Mitchell. Useful tools that I use to gauge whether a purchase would be warranted or not. Tools which I may occasionally disagree with.
  25. NWN is overrated. Kotor rocks. Thanks for the summary.
