  1. I feel the modding community would have lasted longer, too, if the online multiplayer wasn't unplugged prematurely... bleh. =P
  2. Just get the game or did you chicken out on Alpha Protocol as well? Chicken out?... I wasn't aware that buying a video game required so much courage to go through with, heh.
  3. Huh. Seems a bit odd that they chose to use the music from DS2 in the review. =P
  4. Persistent multiplayer and Newgame+. If DS3 had this, it would be a day 1 purchase for me. =P So, I voted for Multiplayer.
  5. VGchartz is pretty much horrible rubbish, but the 'best we have'. Its numbers are made up of tiny samples blown up (e.g. call 50 stores x 5000), PC sales does not include digital sales (because pretty much no digital retailers release that information publicly), and pretty much, it's only a good ballpark for whether a game is selling over a million copies or selling half a million, etc. In other words - as reliable as occasional publisher comments about "game ships 1.5 million", etc. Only way to know for sure, for DS3 or any game, is wait for the publisher's results at an AGM or something, or if the publisher decides to announce the sell-in/sell-through numbers. My impression just from those charts is that DS3 has been selling 'well' (good but not lighting the world on fire), but how fast the sales declines in the first 2 months will be important too - DA2, for instance, was notable for how amazingly fast it dropped. Awesome. Thanks. =)
  6. Again which charts are we talking about? DSIII is in the top 10 of multiple of them. And don't forget its just the opening day. If you mean Amazon. Look at the List first. Then you may understand why. Also it was higher before (Since Preorders went out it sank somewhat expected) I was talking about the Neogaf PAL charts. It's quite sad there isn't as accurate info on games as there is about movie box office... I just did a quick search and came up with this website. To be honest, I have no clue about this kind of thing... Would a site like this give a legit account of weekly sales? http://www.vgchartz.com/
  7. Not as good as FNV, MotB and KotOR2, equal to NWN2: OC and Alpha Protocol, better than SoZ. If we go by lists mine would be >NWN2OC,SOZ =AP,F:NV <KOTOR2,MOTB Eh... My brother got me AP for my birthday, and I can't seem to get past the bugs/gameplay in it without just turning the xbox off... Is the story in that game really good enough that it would be worth slogging through it's flaws (at least things that I don't like)? I really did enjoy FO: NV, so if this game had at least that good of a story, I might be able to give it another go...
  8. I've heard that the camera freaks out when there are more than 3+ players... I haven't actually tried it myself yet, but all the forums seem to be full of people saying this... Thankfully this problem can be patched, I feel.
  9. Eh... The ones that didn't have anything negative to say about the MP though didn't even mention much about MP at all outside of local co-op (other than it features 4 playr co-op online). This makes me think they didn't even try it to begin with... Edit: Sorry, I erased something that I think was unnecessary that I probably shouldn't have posted to begin with. Apologies.
  10. Whether the game will bomb, or not, we will see. Personally I don't think it will at all, but we haven't heard from what Americans have to say about the game yet (for the most part).
  11. No doubt mine being the most valuable.
  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0eDAEQRRBw I'm really sorry, I just couldn't help myself.
  13. hmm, I don't know any real arpg (don't talk about ME2 for example ) where a game+ is really usefull, even more a persistent character. You can pretty max your level in one run in DS3, and the loot system is not very good (no set item, and so on) But have you some examples? No trap here, I like rpg of all sort, and perhaps I missed some! thanks JPR Well, for some examples of games of this style (couch co-op console ARPGs), there is Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, it's sequel, Champions of Norrath, it's sequel as well, and the new up and coming Lord of the Rings: War in the North. All of these games feature Newgame+ (even though BG: DA 1&2 had a different Newgame+, but it was still fun), and they all feature fully persistent multiplayer characters (though with BG: DA 1&2, I can't remember if it had online multiplayer or not). If you haven't played/know about these titles... I highly suggest you check them out (or in War of the North's case, check up on the game and see if it's your cup of tea... It's release is a matter of months away as far as I know). =) They are a bit old, however, and may feel dated (if you can't stand playing older games, heh).
  14. Dungeon Crawl? Where? This is definitively not a dungeon crawl : action rpg with a strong story line. This is in fact not a real followup of Dungeon Siege. (no boss respwaning, no random rare monsters, etc.) The game has its flaws, but it's a nice game, well done, not repetitive. and you will not waste your time on it : 20-25 hours maximum if you're slow like me have a nice day, evening, whatever, JPR ...But even ARPGs have persistent characters and Newgame+. =P Not saying it's a bad game, but the design choices are a bit odd I feel... Dungeon Siege game or not.
  15. With regards to this, people are being quite respectful as far as complaining is concerned. Almost everyone who has commented about the co-op has done so in a pretty practical and constructive way. And only a few trolls are hate posting because of it. On the whole, it sounds to me like people are very happy with the game, but players just see the decision to have this mechanic in a ARPG a little odd and that seems fair enough to me. Personally, I think playing with two local players is acceptable, it's just online where it suffers, especially if you don't have any friends that play. Some complaints are valid, and I agree with some of them, even if I had a great deal of fun with the game. But, there has been a lot of trolling. Especially the first few days. Ohhhh... Could be worse. =) http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/foru...play.php?f=1111
  16. Those are great points, and I agree. =) DS1 had some great player made conversions that integrated great story with great multiplayer. =) It CAN be done, and they can be made to work just fine with each other (gaming communities can be pretty damn creative).
  17. That's true. =) I think the point that people are trying to make, though, is that both the DS series and ARPGs have a very strong persistent multiplayer. Most DS fans and ARPG fans will notice this, and may even be disappointed I think (unless they just care about single player, or local basic co-op). That doesn't mean that it's a bad game, but these choices may effect sales... It's hard to say, though. We'll see. =)
  18. Hmmm... I would have to disagree (except for the combat/gameplay mechanic)... but only a little. Don't get me wrong, I think that stuff sounds great... But, at least for me, I would like to see some better core statistical/level developments that would support Newgame+ and persistent multiplayer (as is more traditional with console ARPGs). If it had the elements both you and I suggested, however, I feel it would probably be one of the best console ARPGs in a very, very long time (if not of all time)... Seems rather unlikely, though.
  19. I liked your review. =) I wish you would have touched on multiplayer, though. Did you try the multiplayer out?
  20. This game isn't Diablo, no. But still, it seems odd to me that they didn't include this feature (among others, I feel)... Especially looking at the genre of this game. Just look at other games of the same genre... BG: DA, BG: DA2, CoN, and CoN: RTA (and more) all had this feature. Then again, maybe Obsidian has some DLC planned that will add Newgame+ (maybe with a higher level cap, new skills, new equipment). To be honest, though, with that much content it would be bordering on an expansion rather than just regular DLC. I doubt they have anything like that in the works, but it would be nice I think. =)
  21. Hmmm... I thought it was at least a year later, but I may be wrong on that. Synergies appeared with Patch 1.10, which was about 3 years after the release of the Diablo2 and about 2 years after LoD was released. Awesome, thanks. =)
  22. Hmmm... I thought it was at least a year later, but I may be wrong on that.
  23. From what I've read, in online multiplayer you get your own screen. However, if you wander too far from your team mates, you will be teleported back to them. Hope this helps. =) No you don't the screen is shared. Seriously?... Ew... I don't understand this design choice. =P
