  1. You don't cross the streams, man. As for the combat, some people enjoy drilling holes into their heads, who am I to judge?
  2. There are also the NPDs and common sense. Oh, and the bit where SEGA says that it sold less than expected. Obviously you are free to ignore all that.
  3. It's not like the enemies didn't kick you into the spikes as well... Also, staircases were the real enemy there.
  4. Sauce? The Japanese translation of the figures gives a rather less than useful "units sold", and a standard disclaimer. A shipped figure seems sensible to me, though that makes the Iron Man totals small given it was shipped to five platforms. See the NeoGAF thread, it's units sold to retailers.
  5. Dark Messiah is the only example, all others are merely pretenders. Fact.
  6. Looking a little more into this, it's 700k units shipped not sold. Most of them are probably either taking up shelf space or in a dark warehouse somewhere, seeing as it didn't show up in the NPDs.
  7. I'm beginning to see what Achilles was talking about. Bringing up Mass Effect 2 every other post is beyond tiresome, it's the new Fallout 3.
  8. Decent sales, I hope it made a return.
  9. Blizzard will laugh all the way to the bank.
  10. They are just playing catch up with XBL and Steam at this point. The social part has always been ignorable, should you choose to.
  11. Yeah, it's loads of fun. While you're at it, why not check out the indie games thread for other cool games available for peanuts EDIT: There's also a (non-steam even)demo, in case anyone else is interested in Torchlight...
  12. It's pretty much a Diablo II clone, and that in the actual sense of the word. So if you want to play DII with better graphics, new skills, characters and levels, it's awesome. Just don't expect any great innovation, there are a few new things, but it's mostly more of the same.
  13. Well there is a fundamental difference between the two different mechanics, one of them being that lag isn't a problem. While I might be a Steam fanboy in other threads, I assure you that I'm just clarifying things and I do that all the time with great ferocity and no bias. This isn't really what the thread is about, but I laugh at the notion of anyone beating any article of clothing off Diablo III.
  14. You don't need to have Steam open after launching the game if it's a single player game or doesn't use Steam for multiplayer, unless they have changed something. Having to maintain a constant connection is more like Ubisofts DRM than Steam.
  15. that's just sad. Maybe the universe really wants you to play the game.
  16. Playing Jedi Knight - Dark Forces 2 and Mysteries of the Sith because I never got around to play them for some reason.
  17. Look up Bolopatch before you give up on it. Extra hours of fun confirmed.
  18. In the end it doesn't really matter as long as they die spectacularly and drop good loot.
  19. I didn't say Lovecraft invented Dagon or vodyanoi(it still looks like a myrloc to me...), but as Worst said, the place has quite a few things lifted from Shadow Over Innsmouth and other assorted Cthulhu mythos.
  20. What's with all the mythology talk? The vodyanoi is obviously a murloc and the whole village deal in TW was an attempt at a Lovecraftian Shadow Over Innsmouth thing complete with a Cthulhu statue.
  21. Another love letter to Alpha Prtocol. Will this forum eventually dislodge itself from here and find a new home in the Bioware boards? Only time will tell.
  22. GSM interference. That being the high point of this review. Hopefully he'll do Starcraft 2 next.
  23. After the pop culture kitchen sink that WoW is a few were bound to slip into SC2 as well.
