  1. But I liked burst fire grenade launchers I think it's fair to say that JA2 has been sucked dry, as dry as it gets.
  2. Company of Heroes is pure awesome, Red Faction: Guerrilla is a really fun and unique romp and Saints Row 2 is pants on head crazy in a good way. Other stuff is so-so or crap(or Titan Quest). I already have Guerilla (free from a promotion with Darksiders). What's so good about Saints Row 2? I'm kind of sick of GTA sandbox games. Do you have an opinion on DoW 2 and Metro 2033? Saint's Row 2 is a GTA turned up to eleven with none of the melodramatic story, refer to the Zero Punctuation review I have only played the DoW 2 demo, but it's basically a strategy game lite with no base building and pretty heavy RPG elements like choosing your 5(?) member squad, equipping them and leveling them up. The single player campaign has lots of side missions and whatnot. From what I remember the gameplay is very good if you like to micromanage a few units with multiple abilities instead of managing economy/multiple armies etc... No personal experience with the multiplayer, but it's supposedly good. As for Metro 2033, I've watched a let's play of the whole thing. The best way to describe it would be to imagine STALKER polished up to western standards complete with tight corridors, pretty graphics, a relatively short(and linear) campaign and a general lack of gamestopping bugs. That is not to say it loses the weird badly voiced, atmospheric and weird game mechanic filled feel of an Eastern European game. Probably not worth the full price, but certainly worth playing if you can get it with a pack. @Majek: What's wrong with 1.13? Speaking of Steam packs, I'd get the Valve pack if you haven't played HL2 and/or like multiplayer or the id Super Pack which is just plain awesome.
  3. Shockingly enough there's a whole long topic dedicated to this very discussion and on the first page no less.

  5. I think it starts from Episode One anyway, but it's totally worth it.
  6. Be sure to play HL2(or the expansions) with the commentary mode if you have played them already. It's really interesting.
  7. The more you know...
  8. All I remember is that Nox was fun
  9. Blizzard: The Other Valve
  10. How about no? Good level design trumps randomly generated stuff every time.
  11. You hay way too much free time Try volunteering for a charity or something.

Finished the First Law Trilogy by Joe Abercrombie. It's a really nice deconstruction of a whole lot of fantasy cliches, but also brutally depressing
  13. Do you see a shopping cart on his back?
  14. HA. Ha ha. Heh. Hmm. Does MW2 look like a Crysis killer? No? Why did it sell so well nonetheless? MW2 looks great, they achieved it by having more linear levels and probably better optimization. Well, except for the brown-gray "realism" filter, but that's a whole other story.
  15. I wouldn't trust Obsidian's AI as far as I could throw it, probably not the best solution in this case.
  16. There seems to be a distinct lack of screenshots featuring these levels, then. Though the graphics are pretty indeed.
  17. The rare and wondrous beauty of the yellow-brown piss filter?
  18. It's ok to be bitter. Just remember that at the end of the day there's no ivory tower, just a bunch of people on an internet gaming message board.
  19. It is settled then.
  20. There's probably a whole bunch of people playing flash games, free MMOs and Wii Sports that won't buy resident evil or ninja gaiden. It hasn't been a nice neat uniform market for a long time. I don't see why we should worry about them, but that doesn't make what they're doing not gaming.
  21. I guess that's worth something...
  22. Well, it is still gaming. We can't just draw an imaginary line at Farmville because it is an icky visitor from an alien world. It certainly doesn't matter to the people making millions off it.
  23. Bah, total disappointment. And they call themselves tropers... Try to bring it up yourself next time?
  24. Life leech all the way.
