  1. Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis > Final Fantasy Tactics
  2. cmon really? the monkey island remake was awesome, particularly because of the one-button toggle between classic and remake graphics. a system shock 2 done that way would be kick ass Really. It comes from my dislike of consuming any kind of media (with a storyline of some sort) more than once, so from my point of view they are a waste of time. I'd be perfectly happy if they put all that stuff on Good Old Games with a Windows 7 compatible installer/wrapper.
  3. I hate remakes. And don't diss American McGee's Alice, it's like the only decent thing he's done. Maybe the sequel won't be horrible.
  4. I second that notion.
  5. You seem to have missed the thrust of my last several messages: Why? The two games aren't comparable. My argument has been "Why are you (general usage) invoking ME(2) when ME(2) isn't even the same genre of game". If V wants to insist on doing so, then he's either proceeding on story (in which case he'll lose) or he'll do so on shooting mechanics (in which I'll concede...because AP isn't a shooter). And if you want beleaguer the point, I've played (and finished...multiple times) ME. He cannot same the same of AP. They are both at least pretending to be RPGs with dialogue, stats and everything. I don't see why you can't compare them, other than AP having the distinct disadvantage of being made on a smaller budget by a less experienced team. Also, I think I already said my two cents on the ME2 vs AP front either in this thread or in the thread that announced no sequel for AP. And for the record, ME and ME2 are not the same game. He mysteriously changed his race when I wasn't looking?
  6. I'm right there with you, but I don't see this trend ending in the foreseeable future.
  7. I can't help, but notice that you are clearly ignoring the disclaimer that I posted a few posts back. What's your game, Wrath?
  8. He's pretty far away from the System Shock license, so it doesn't really matter either way. So any other exhilarating news?
  9. Hope you have a lot of free time
  10. The whole first half of Bioshock was a remake of System Shock 2 down to the Atlas plot twist. Not to mention the gameplay and some of the enemies being from SS2.
  11. hehe, glad I read this before I responded to the above EDIT: @V - I think we should just acknowledge that you aren't part of the target audience. This is a story-driven RPG for people that like story-driven RPGs. You didn't like the mechanics. That's fine. To each their own - really. But if you want to lambaste the game based on the story, it would really help your case to be able to say that you actually finished it. Why not a gentlemanly deal? You finish ME2 and Volo will finish AP and then you can have a pistol duel at dawn to determine which game is truly better. @Oblarg: The disclaimer at the start of the game clearly stated that any resemblance to real world people, places and event is merely coincidental.
  12. If it was Bioshock in space with a decent story, sure. As things seem to be going, he'll just rip off all his previous stories again,
  13. These days: Ken Levine + System Shock = Bioshock
  14. In a loot-hording RPG? Why?
  15. Obviously nothing is truly original in writing, but there is still quite a gap between that and generic Tolkinesque fantasy/space marines fighting aliens sci-fi. MotB was very refreshing in the story/character department even if the combat sucked because of the NWN2 engine(and epic levels).
  16. Did you already post the Falling Sand Game?
  17. How a bout two deaf men arguing over classical music then?
  18. Is it? It seems to have been working fine in the video game industry for.. what? 20 years? That only makes it sadder, but there is still quite a bit of creativity in the dreaded... indie games. And yes, I have indeed played Mask of the Betrayer.
  19. It's like the paraolympics here with people who haven't finished either game arguing about which is better.
  20. Not it you have a decent Keeper. There's also a ton of good campaigns with their own support books.
  21. I wasn't implying that Dead Space 2 would be System Shock 3, but that the horror game would be DS2. Just keep Ken Levine away from it or we'll get a nihilist utopia in space starring the bastard son of SHODAN .
  22. Ripping off gameplay that works is fine, but shamelessly copying a cliched story/characters is just sad.
  23. Or maybe cut down on pop culture references in fantasy games? WoW has filled that quota for all games for the next 10 years at least. You could have an in-universe reference with a badly overacted Duke something or another.
