I may have found a cause...or something... I scanned my hardware using the config utility. Here's what I got. Everything passed except for my video drivers: [Video] Video Card Name=NVIDIA GeForce4 4200 Go (Dell Mobile) Video Memory=64 Desktop Resolution=1680x1050x32 @ 60Hz DirectX=DirectX 9.0c (4.09.00.0904) OpenGL Version=1.4.0 OpenGL Vendor=NVIDIA Corporation OpenGL Renderer=GeForce4 4200 Go/PCI/SSE2 NVidia Driver=6.14.10.4482 Vid Card Status=Warning Vid Card Driver Status=Fail GL Status=Pass DX Status=Pass I went to Nvidia's site to update my drivers, but it tells me 2 things: 1) I can't update to the latest driver (71.84) because it tells me it can't find drivers for my hardware. 2) updating to 66.93 does nothing, as it still says I don't have the appropriate drivers installed. What gives with this?

So I recently got KotOR2. I got all excited and a bit wet in the britches when creating a new character in the familiar and warming glow from my monitor, only to find out that dialogue is basically rushed to the end with no ability to read it. The only time dialogue is stopped is when I have a dialogue choice. After I make my choice, however, dialogue is zipped through till the next option/end of dialogue. Is there a solution to this?

Strangely, when I play pen and paper D&D, attacks of opportunity seemed to be handled in a much different way. A lot of things are handled differently. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...thnx, Josh; 'nother opportunity ta use a BISIMG: ...btw, did ya e'er save any o' these???...I canna find the "Overseer Cry" and the Gary Oldman/Not Funny ones ta add ta the collection...help a brother out, eh???... ...WHO LUVS YA, BABY!!... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey, can I get the other pics? I'm sorry but this doesn't make much sense. What would suck about being ready for the sweet release of death so that now he can meet the man he devoted his life to? Unless the Pope is afraid of dying...in which case, what chance do we have?

Higher game prices don't really affect me...not anymore, at least. I used to buy games when they hit the shelves...back when I had no other expenses. Now-a-days, I wait till the price drops and all the kinks are (in theory) worked out. If the price remains high, big whoop. It's not the end of the world. I'll borrow it from someone or whatever. Console games are a different story. 15-20 dollars a month can get you any game you desire for as long as you want to play it (hey, you can always mod your system to play haxxored games, or whatever) with Gamefly or a similar service. The only thing to really consider is the price of the console in question.

*laughs at you*

Considering checking it out, as well...

I disagree. There is something about not having every minute detail spelled out for you that makes it (or can make it, rather) better. It let's your imagination run wild. It let's you come up with your own conclusions, though you may never know the truth..... You know, I had a long drawn-out reply, but in the end, it's not going to change anyone's opinion..so whatever.

I liked both Gothic 1 and 2. They were fun games, and I spent many hours in to the wee morning playing them. I didn't really think the English was that bad...at least not a great deal of glaring errors that I can remember. The only part I didn't like about G2 was the easiness of the 'big threat(s)' in the game. And yes, play Gothic before Gothic 2. Everything will make much more sense. *waiting for Gothic 3*

Great. More crap on which to spend money.

What exactly is this supposed to mean?

Well, it's my impression that Feargus had wanted a more robust community, a place where people would talk about things with merit and substance, and not be filled with spam, flames, whining, griping, indignation and arrogant demands. These boards have been provided as a courtesy, not as a right, and I believe Obsidian feels that courtesy has been abused. From a moderator perspective, it was their/our hope that the forums would not need to have strict moderation, and that people would respect that and act with consideration. Of course we all know there will be trolls and problematic people, but it's pretty clear that Obsidian feels the ratio of trolls and problem people is greater than the good that is here. Were the boards to remain open, or re-open at a later date, we would be excercising much stricter moderation and sterner enforcement of board rules. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry, I just don't agree. You and Fio lock your fair share of useless threads that get in the way of "discussion." What more does one need? And the problem with nobody talking about things with merit and substance...well, that's because there is nothing to talk about. KotOR is out there already and Atari stole the NWN forums. Solution? Obsidian needs to announce a third project..

Hmm...forums seem kind of dead.

The former could lead to the latter, however. Where to go from here? Don't know...it has been fun over the years. Posting throughout the various incarnations of interplay, BIS/BIO, and Obsidian has been...educational...in many ways. Of course, it's not like it's the end or anything. The end of one journey is the beginning of another, or some such nonsensical babble. I guess it's Missy's and the Codex for me, as they're the only forums who have regular posters of whom I'm familiar with in the gaming circle. Why am I still typing?

I've got an imported version - Ukrain, I think - of the game that came with an English version on the disk as well. Is there anyway I can patch the game? I downloaded the official patch, but it said it couldn't determine the version of the game.

Some things never change...

I was just over there...doesn't seem like a whole lot of 'general discussion' activity.
