Orogun01 replied to Osvir's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
This is the first thought that went through my head when I saw Racial Speech skill: "Yo, sucka we'd all been chilling at the club when a big ass mutha****ing dragon comes in. And I was like damnnn that mutha is big we best haul ass outta here" -

Yep, but games were simpler back then and storytelling was a plus and not a given. Now even the most inane, mindless game requires a plot or a story mode. -

Are you expecting a bunch of manga reader teens to actually post villains that aren't anime related? Fine, here comes the JRPG brigade: I'll start; Keftka, Sepiroth, Seymour Guado, blah blah blah. -
Considering the support ME gets for gay romances I think fans enjoy sitting on it and spinning.

Mature themes
Orogun01 replied to Sacred_Path's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
The Resident Evil movie series is full of gore and yet their target audience seems to be 13 years old, "mature themes" do not a mature story make. The only two reasons why a story would need these explicit adult only themes is either to create setting or as a plot device. -

Comparing villains personalities in their most generalized description its like comparing Ice cream flavors, its highly subjective to the taste. Personally I like Rocky Road because of the walnuts and quite frankly I can't no longer abide the taste of chocolate ice cream by itself. So I'd like a villain that has some "walnuts" and isn't just a charismatic one or a mastermind or a thug. It the little details that make each character unique and makes them grow out of their archetype and role in the story. If I can't point to an event as proof that they are good villains I usually consider them either a failure or not a villain at all. -
Japan is the only one that makes FF, and the multitude of other media that contains the same ****. Don't forget Korean MMOs

Me doth think that modern gamers complain too much, probably the reason that games have little replayability nowadays. Its an actual consequence that would had made players consider the order sequence in which they recruit troops, but apparently no one wants to face consequences anymore. They just rather have a mildly reactionary world rather than one with real consequences.

"cougar Russian chick" yeah, I don't know if you're trolling or not but there's already a thread for villains. -
If at the end of your playthrough, you are satisfied with the character development for the NPC and the options given the PC. That doesn't sound right. I need a meter to tell me if I'm winning at love or not. Perhaps the devs could use Leisure Suit Larry for inspiration? Just out of curiosity, how do you know when people like you in RL without a meter?

$1000 escorts and Scotch, that's how close I want to get to Nirvana.

That's just creepy, I was just thinking having a bunch of chinese mages duplicate manuscripts. You know, a printing press.

Do not mistake Dishonored for innovative, it's a rehash of a previous formula that has never hit the mainstream. If you ever played Dark Messiah of Might & Magic you will see the similarities, which is not a surprise since is the same developer. My experience with the game was ruined due to a few mistakes on the developer's side. First, the game favors an approach heavily while rewarding you for the opposite. What I mean is that they reward you storywise with the good ending, a higher rating and less difficulty if you choose the pacifist approach but they equip you to kill and make it easier to do the bad ending. A far cry from Thief and Bioshock which balanced both choices well in terms of gameplay. It also made the usual Bethesda blunders, they hired incredibly expensive actors for roles that are minimal, the writing is awful, 10 million of books of lore and things that have no bearing on the game, combat was a mess. You know, the usual. I seriously can't tell people to stay away from this game enough.

Speak for yourself, I plan to record all my experiences with those natives and publish it.

But it's actually a Thief wannabe with the worse design decision in recent history.

Up until this year nobody had seen anything that would prove the Higgs Boson, that didn't stop researchers from having faith in their theory. Wasn't faith for them staying the course of their theory? There is no evidence to prove or disprove God, why "rational" people seem biased towards those who who profess belief is beyond me.

If I drew like Prosper I probably wouldn't have any faith either.
