Been playing FarCry 3 and I just realized how long ago it was that I enjoyed a good shooter. If there was a basic needs system this game would be perfect, here's hoping for mods.

Sketch idea

And you made Cthulhu with a bony hand? You can keep going along the lines of your concept but it definitively need more thought before its finalized, simply put you want your concept to be unique and not remind everyone of another game while tying into the visual style of your own game. BTW: if you want to become a concept artist I will suggest that you switch to a digital format, if drawing its just a hobby then disregard this statement. -

Good vs Evil
Orogun01 replied to Malekith's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Since we have been talking about moral choices for while, anyone has any thoughts on implementation? I always feels that choice in games feels artificial when its a choices rather than an action, I can't help when my brain presented with a multiple choice answer to an ethical situation goes into test taking mode and starts metagaming. So that instead of actually pondering the situation I go for either the utilitarian approach or for immersive roleplaying. Either way I'm making a very logical choice instead of an emotional response. -

Why would I want to skip it? I don't like anime, but that song... oh, that song... I'm going to listen to it again and again and again. Penpals-Tell me Why I also blame Berserk for getting me into Sumusu Hirasawa. -

PR. Palestine was created at the same time, and if Israel were to eliminate it they'd either A) have to integrate the muslim population into their own or B) have to expel the muslim population. One is entirely unwanted by them, the other becomes a PR nightmare. That's one likely cause, the other one is probably Western support.

Thanks everyone, if anyone is still curious I'm celebrating by finishing a bottle of Scotch and listening to blues. Maybe later my mood will pick up, although I doubt since its going to be "family time"

I value art either by craftsmanship AKA: Talent or by subject AKA content. Nothing posted has tickled my fancy. Also, fine art its denoted for being art for its own sake. The definition excludes propaganda which always serves political interests.

Good vs Evil
Orogun01 replied to Malekith's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Moral relativism doesn't necessarily exclude good and evil and that its where gray morality seems to fail at times. The first Witcher game is a failure in that term in that both choices just different shades of the same evil, luckily you could always go at it on your own which was the more sensible choice (plus, nun threesome). My point is simple, even in a ****ed up situation, there is still good and evil choice though not in absolutes. A perfectly gray situation where there is no real good or wrong is of little consequence, there is always degrees of choices. -
This thread made me chuckle.

Woke up, saw a note, it said "Happy Birthday", realize that I had forgotten my own birthday, made coffee.

Good vs Evil
Orogun01 replied to Malekith's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
See, here's what I don't get: Grey morality doesn't eliminate good and evil possibilities it just renders them inert by making it a lose lose situation. So why would anyone prefer a system that takes away choice from them by making them meaningless? Grey morality is made up of choices of no consequence because any choice of sufficient impact will have an effect on the world either for the better or the worse and as soon as people tear themselves away from an idyllic perception of virtue they will probably see that just because you don't get rainbows at the end doesn't mean that it isn't the good way to go. -
Ok everyone, we gave the Jews the land because we agreed that we like Jews better over those Palestine. I mean, they gave us Hollywood, they are rich and influential, why would we support those random strangers over our own Zionist loving movers and shakers?

Good vs Evil
Orogun01 replied to Malekith's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Just throwing this question to the air, why does everyone seem to prefer "gray" morality choices and keeps bringing up The Witcher as the shining example of it? Is it because they think that it's more mature and realistic? -
I'm confused, aren't Jews originally from a tribe that lived in that land from thousands of years ago? What makes the Palestinians claim to the area more valid than the Jews? Correction Jews are from a tribe that killed everyone else in that land a thousands of years ago and told the story in their best seller: The Bible.

Magic and the Economy
Orogun01 replied to Tagaziel's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Inevitably all slaves turn on their masters, just like the slave rebellions against the roman empire. With the major difference that a band of mages is far more dangerous than gladiators. So whatever society cooks that up will be probably a short lived one.
