  1. I think games developed by big-name developers (Bethesda, Blizzard, BioWare) should be judged by the same standards that independent developers are judged (read: lambasted) by. Many independent developers can be excused for the state their games are released in due to lesser resources, yet more than often receive no leeway for it, unlike the big-names. Why cut the big-names slack, who have access to much bigger resources?
  2. BioWare probably holds the record for most "best games of all time".
  3. At least it's better than the spirit meter, since I can turn it off.
  4. ^Is that a Super Mutant Behemoth?
  5. What's going on there?
  6. I'm playing through ME2 with a male Shepard, and as I suspected all dialogue (even the lame "boohoohoo, why didn't you call me?" on Horizon) is exactly the same as with a FemShep, just horribly voiced. But at least I can get into Tali.
  7. In hindsight, Bethesda should've stuck to their wiki-style "keyword" dialogue system. There was really no reason to change it, only to flaunt with thousand-and-one [skillChecks] and give the illusion that skill choices actually mattered. They could've even tried to be revolutionary, and introduced a wiki-style dialogue wheel, enabling one to ask every single NPC about "Dad", "Capital Wasteland", "Brotherhood of Steel", "Enclave" and "Vault".
  8. I'm guessing it'd be only for the console version?
  9. Did Obsidian remove the 100 character limit in the engine? Bethesda dialogue: "I'm looking for my dad, middle-aged guy. Have you seen him?" Super-awesome enhanced Obsidian dialogue: "I'm looking for my father, who is a middle-aged man. Have you by any chance seen him?"
  10. Strange though, that the Bio boards aren't ablaze as one'd expect it to be if there were even the slightest rumour about this. That said, over-the-shoulder or top-down doesn't make a difference to me, I'm more concerned whether the fighting is against the same level-scaled mobs over and over again.
  11. These "Hardcore" options are just a nuisance if they don't go all the way. Either make it The Sims: Post-Apocalyptica with potty breaks, need to shower, etc. or leave them out. There's also the issue of needing to eat/sleep/drink to make it "more realistic", yet on the other hand one needs to shoot multiple bullets into someone's head to kill.
  12. The mss32.dll of the first KOTOR or any game from around that time should do the trick.
  13. I sense much anger in that thread.

Memento could have used some Inception.
  15. What did Bethesda do to upset the Japanese?
  16. In DS2 I controlled everything with the mouse... I only used the 'M' key for chugging mana potions & 12345 for activating a power. I rarely chugged health potions, since it was inefficient compared to a healing mage autocasting a healing spell & spirit embrace. Oh, and I also used 'F' for focus fire occasionally. For DS1, though, I used to have an entire page of hotkeys. Not that it was really necessary, though.
  17. As soon as there's a Viconia Companion mod, I might pick up the game again. That's what saved Oblivion for me. But... dwarves?! R00fles!
  18. ... ....... ........... Too easy.
  19. I'm concerned Dragon Age 2 won't be epic enough.
  20. I played an earlier TSLRCM version with a light-side female Exile and did not even trigger the HK factory, hence didn't get the ending I wanted either. I forgot whether the factor is triggered by picking up items from defeated HK-50s, or by raising HK-47's influence (which would be a no-go, considering it requires a lot of dark side actions).
  21. Dark Messiah is the only example, all others are merely pretenders. Fact. Dark Messiah is a lesson for every villain that if he or she wants to conquer the world, it's important never to place a spiked wall every 5 metres in every location.
