  1. Very true. But the timing for the May 5th RC is very good. If anyone has an incentive for it, I guess I would fall in that category. I am more concerned about security than bugs though than the occasional bug and that is probably the only thing stopping me from installing Win7. I guess you're right. Still indecisive, though.
  2. Ehehehe! Yeah, it's not crap, but it could be a lot better than that. If I had the money ... The thing is that XP is a valid, stable choice, vista isn't utter crap, but it's not the best thing in OS since, oh I dunno, Ubuntu? And since the RC for Win7 is coming out on Tuesday, the timing seems rather perfect, so I'm seriously considering it. Especially since Win7 has the XP support which is another big plus in my book. Is there a legitimate reason why I should stick to XP or try Vista? So I guess the real question is whether the Win7 RC is a good choice or not. P.S. I only have 1 HDD so I am not gonna go for dual OS until I get my hands on a second one.
  3. So my question is, do I go WinXP, Vista (bleh!) or Win7 RC? Just so you know, PC is rather cheap but a hell of a lot more up to date than my old 2.8GHz P4 Specs of new PC: Intel Core 2 Duo 7400 Asus P5Q mobo 4GB DDR2 800MHz ram Sapphire HD 4850 ATi
  4. I just watched it and it looks DAMN good! I liked how far away from the Mass Effect feel the game goes. I liked your commentary too, Matt. Yeah, it still needs polish on the gfx department, some higher rez textures mostly, a few better facial expressions here and there, but as I noticed, some characters look damn sweet, while others not so great. I guess that's what the 'work in progress' stands for at the beginning of the trailer. I like Mike's voice, I find it rather fitting. I wouldn't like him sounding like Jack from VtM: Bloodlines or Cyrus from WH40k:DoW II. The lip sync, yeah, just a little more polish there. And the game hits shelves in October? That's 6 months to add as much polish as you guys want. I think this game is gonna be pretty darn awesome. Can't wait for the next walkthrough! P.S. Did I mention I'm hyped?
  5. It's things like this that restore my faith in humanity.
  6. Whichever makes me sound like the ****y, arrogant, sonuva gun type. Or anything that sounds like out of a Bruce Campbell movie.
  7. Can we have romantic relations with the crates? I am afraid crate-speak is too advanced for us human beings to comprehend. Also, petition for gay crate sex!
  8. PC: NWN2 OC DS: Suikoden Tierkreis If you guys have a DS, you need to get this, it's pretty awesome!
  9. SW:ToR tales place 300-500 years after the events of KotoRII, so it would be safe to assume that no matter what happens in a supposed KotoR III would have little to no impact on the events of ToR. My best guess is BG III because Atari has left the BG franchise without a new addition in 8 years now? I'm game for anything though and WH 40K would be like ... something that would get me banned from here if I put it into words, so I'll leave it at that
  10. Duran Duran and James Bond come to mind. I wonder why?
  11. Argh! OK, so I'm playing Jedi Knight II. At one point, Kyle has to cross a hallway with snipers shooting from the windows. So I sit by the automated door, wait for it to open, fire a few rounds and kill the 3-4 badies waiting for me to pop my head out. I raised my fist victorious, only to be killed by the automated door, closing at the exact moment I decided to go through. I had killed hordes of stormtroopers, enemy Sith, took down TIE fighters and Planet Destroyers, only to be done in by an automated door. I ... I have nothing more to say.
  12. Been doing so for the past year or so. Since I am also an active GT community member, I'm gonna do some promoting with a new blog and posting in the general gaming forums, as well as my GT faction forums. But that's tomorrow.
  13. I think those are simply footages from different stages of the developement put together into a one video. Some locations/objects/characters look splendid, with high res textures, while others don't. Same with facial animations. The purpule-hair girl has alot better facial animations during the convo with her than other characters. It shows progress and I'm glad to see it. I'm positive Obsidian will be able to polish most of the important stuff in time. Yeah, quite possible, early builds put together. Maybe it was done to show how the game has progressed from earlier builds to later builds? Would like to have something notifying which build is which. The desert part looked smashing and I understand it has been used for demo purposes lots of times in the past. It is logical for it to look better than the footage from the rest of the game because it was completed in advance. I believe we can expect the same kind of polish for the rest of the game, in due time.
  14. I think the animations were OK. There seemed to be some frame skipping issues and some slowdowns at times but it didn't look like the game was running on a reliable machine or it was running slow because of some other program running, perhaps something along the line with Fraps? It can cause considerable slowdown when trying to capture in game footage. Sometimes, it looked a bit unpolished, lower rez, stiff, I'm guessing it was on really low graphical settings in order to capture some footage at faster frame rate? Maybe. Would be nice to have a dev explain some things to us about what we saw. CQC got me. Really really really got me. Stealth and Melee are gonna be my two main skills :D I really liked what I saw in terms of combat mechanics. I loved the much talked about, and often bragged, dialogue stance, really liked the defiant and sarcastic answers, very intelligently written, though, some might argue a little, cliche. Am I being maybe too optimistic? I dunno. I'm guessing graphic whores would complain about graphics. Sorry if it isn't like Halo 3 or Crysis or Uncharted, but it looks in no way like a PS2 or XBOX game and in fact, I'd say it looks as good or even better than Oblivion did.
  15. Tetris: The Role Playing Game. 7 races (red, white, magenta, green, dark blue, cyan, brown ) 7 classes (I, J, L, O, S, T, Z.) No RPG can boast such customizable characters! You play as the chosen tetronomino, raised from childhood by a unique monastic order tasked with solving social ills of the world by uniting the 7 races to form a powerful block to fight against the oncoming oblivion that threatens the world from the Edge of the Screen. ...Only to find out that once all the 7 races are united they disappear into the void and the vicious cycle begins anew. Now tetronomino must find a way to break the cycle and destiny itself, lest he be stuck in the loop for all eternity. Hmm, that plot is better than 70% of games out there... This plot, just beat Halo's with its complexity.
  16. I was put off because it was utter s**t, but each man is entitled to his opinion.
  17. Crap! I like this game ... but I haven't left Iolcus yet. It seems kinda fun.
  18. That is an interesting thought, but I doubt its implementation in the game. Maybe if Mike has an assignment in which he infiltrates a terrorist group that intend to blow up some big US government building, taking hundreds of lives in the effort, and he has to thwart the attempt at the very last minute. Hostage situation, on sight executions etc. that would definitely have an impact in most people's daily life. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure that the only such interaction with the public story-wise will be Mike passing through an electronics store window and a TV would go "Terrorist group Jamah Al Halebin (it's a real terrorist group in Convincingly-real-sounding-land) was taken down thanks to coordinated attempts by the US military and the C.I.A."
  19. I'd support that idea. Seeing as Bioware flopped with SC:TDB, Obs could really make a breakthrough. I'd buy it even if it sucked, personally xD
  20. Sadly I wasn't at that game session so I only know of it by legend. Apparently he almost got killed trying to parlay with some Orcs while his personality was in Orc Barbarian mode, then fell out with the group in Elven Princess mode because they weren't treating him as befit his station in life (complete with slapping the male party leader in the face for being too familiar!) I wish I'd been there. Oh God, that sounds epic! Get the details from these people fast!
  21. I don't doubt the effort put in the games based on the Realms, MotB's story was more than 'decent' for me, and though I really like the fantasy setting, deviating from the 'norm' isn't such a bad thing. DragonAge will be out soon, so that should keep you, me and the modding community occupied for a while. Though Shadowrun and Arcanum both have the a lot of fantasy elements: magic, typical fantasy setting races etc. seem to be quite welcome to those who wish something more than just fantasy for the sole reason that they do not take place in a medieval setting, but for that exact reason is hated by the pure fantasy setting fans. As far as 4E D&D goes, I think it screams for a MMORPG. It doesn't give me the same feel as when I played any previous edition of the game, it's way too much based on action and it looks to me like a typical MMO setting. Then again, it's just my opinion and not a fact. It seems to me like '09 has the worst 360 lineup yet, like they rested too much on the laurels of success of previous years to be bothered seriously with it. If one thing, it seems to be the PC's year. In MS' shoes, I think that it's time they started taking advantage of the franchises they bought, such as Shadowrun, only done in a responsible manner this time. It's up to Obs to make a bid and see if they can take the job and make the game, be it for 360 or Windows Live or both platforms.
  22. Not entirely. I mean, something's gotta sell them Windows 7 sooner or later ... But I'm guessing you're more right than wrong.
  23. It's a good thing this conversation didn't get out of hand and off topic. /facepalm
