  1. Guys! Guys ... listen. I wasn't trying to hit on DA2, nor on DA's graphics in general. I just find that DA2 can look and does look, most of the time, far worse than DS3. That is in terms of environments and art style, at least. That should count for something in GT, as they don't just judge graphics, but rather 'presentation' as in the overal look of the game. I'm not going to judge DA2 on anything else, it is basically uncomparable to DS3. It's just that, reading the review, I have the impression that GT maybe played the game with one character, maybe once, at casual difficulty tops and tried the online co-op once. I just get the idea that a lot of reviewers played the game once and then, hastily, put a review out, just so they can claim 'first'. That being said, Obs, I got a bitter taste of wanting more. I know it's a little less than too soon to ask, but are there any future plans for DS3?
  2. I actually made the mistake of watching it. I really liked the comment about 'outdated' graphics the reviewer made. Besides the fact that they rated Uncharted 3's graphics higher than BF3's for this year's E3, they're going to give Modern Warfare's graphics a better score than DS3's. Not to hate on the id Tech 3 engine, but anything built on it, still looks like a game from 2001. Hell, DA2 got a better score for its graphics than DS3. The pictures speak pretty clear. I think we can all agree at this point that GT never knew what the hell they were talking about, when it comes to graphics, gameplay and video games in general.
  3. I died a few times, but mostly because I played it poorly, not cheap enemy attacks, broken controls or anything of the sort. I died once with Lucas and once with Anjali. Need to remember to heal once I have the chance. I keep forgetting that heal button.
  4. The game is easily a 8/10. Anyone who says it's a bad game, anyone at all, has way too high standards. Not to mention most games that do get 9/10 are usually undeserved. Also, who in their right mind would give a DOA game a higher score than this? Not to be demeaning to whatever studio made the 3DS DOA game (I don't think it was Itagaki's Team Ninja this time), but it's a fighting game who's selling point is jiggling boobies and last time I checked ... ... we had that ground covered as well! Only complaint I have is the lack of strafing on the keyboard controls. Hardly bothered, though, as I also have a 360 controller. Also, from what I hear from other gamers who pirated the game already, in higher difficulties, the game is insanely gratifying. I'm content with playing the demo on normal, for now, but once I get my hands on the game, I will be sure to try the 'Hardcore' difficulty.
  5. Oof, like in Oblivion? I think the main thing I liked about the influence system was that the game just adapted to however the conversation went. For me, that added immensely to the replay value. On the one hand, I can't see an AP2 happening (though I'd love it to be made) given how underwhelming the response was (I compeltely missed the fact that it had been released at all initially). On the other hand, there have been a lot of sequels made after underwhelming starts. Just Cause wasn't exactly amazing. Even Dead Space was relatively under the radar until later on. N-no ... not like that. I'll be damned if I got anything out of the expressions in Oblivion. And I don't want to just hover my mouse over an option and see whether someone likes it or not beforehand. The dialogue stance mechanic would remain unchanged. All that would go is the +1 Influence with NPC counter and instead, you would have a better facial animation.
  6. I sure as hell do. Imagine this: no influence counter, instead you have to detect whether an NPC likes or dislikes your responses according to their facial expression. Facial animations a la L.A. Noire. Sis is back, but a little older, Sie is also back, but now she is the AP equivalent of Big Mama. Mike returns as an NPC, as well as Steven Heck. The two of them are now inseperable bros, working freelance. Depending on your choice in AP, Mina or Scarlett could also be with them. Mike can play a massive role, either as mentor or rival to your character, depending on the side you choose. Better animations, especially for stealth (else AP2 be called 'The search for the chiropractor'), longer campaign, same gameplay, no cover mechanics and no regenerating armor, 'tweaked' skills and expanded gadget list. Feargus need only ask for my bank account number, if this happens.
  7. Lucas has the same voice as the hero from Gothic in this video. Gothic 3 to be more specific, I think. He could just as easily be from Gothic 2, though. I'm not 100% sure.
  8. A bit off topic, but I just saw this ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpoJvMp64P0 I'm not sure if it has been posted before here and I didn't want to start a new thread about it. Anyone else got a Gothic feeling hearing Lucas' voice?
  9. The company responsible for the distribution of DS3 in Greece has a playable demo of the game available. Apparently, some editor from a Greek video game magazine got a hands on first look at the game. The company's offices are not too far away from where I live. I'm sure they wouldn't give the game to me, though T_T Well, time for some breaking and entering!
  10. I bought a new PS3 not a month ago ... I'm definitely not getting a 360 as well. Will be thoroughly disappointed, if this turns out to be an XBLA exclusive.
  11. This sounds even better than what I was expecting. At any point in the game, my friend can join in and play, without having to worry about level differences, equipment and stats. The 3 minutes it may take him to level up his skills, is hardly something that would bother me.
  12. I'm with WUE on this one. I liked the gameplay, but it's like people only have one facial expression; stiff. Can't they raise or contort an eyebrow? Scowl a little? Would really work wonders. I really liked the battle animations, though. Seemed very well detailed and consistent. And don't get me wrong, DS3 does look incredibly beautiful. Is this footage from the 360? I noticed the UI showed the LT button of a controller, but it may as well have been a controller plugged in a PC. I didn't notice this stylized dialogue tree WUE mentioned. I'll have to go back and see it again.
  13. I don't think that's possible. If DS3 is a 20 hour long game, for example, with enemies gradually scaling in difficulty, can you possibly finish it with all 3 of your co-op teammates stuck in lvl 1 and starting equipment? I sincerely doubt it. Not being able to export a character from someone else's main campaign sounds about right, since they are tied to a certain save game. So you shouldn't be able to export him, grind him to lvl 999 and then return him with his new lvl and equipment to the same save. That would be stupid and overpowering. Sounds to me like someone just jumped to conclusions just from reading an article and without having played the game. And of course Obs wouldn't reply to that. Maybe a Dev would come over here and say good ol' Jimmy Sterling doesn't know what he's talking about and leave it at that, but definitely not make a public statement saying: "Dear Mr. Sterling, You're full of it! Have a nice day" or something along those lines.
  14. Just read the timeline. Got me pumped for this game. I never got that into the history of Ehb, but I'm excited now!
  15. Your skill seems impressive, good sir! Did you have a hand on those early concept art pics we saw when DS3 was first announced?
  16. I think it's because the person she is talking to isn't necessarily staring at her face. Yeah, those puppies got me cross-eyed as well. From a technical standpoint, these screens looks amazing! Some of the crispier graphics I've seen in a while. Plus, better texture quality than New Vegas. That's all I wanted, really.
  17. Also news of Deus Ex getting pushed as far back as Spring 2012. So no competition between the two SE published titles. Actually, I much prefer a summer release. I won't be picking up DA2 because ... everything I hear and see about it has disheartened me, but I am looking forward to The Witcher 2 and Torchlight 2. That should keep my RPG needs satisfied for a while, at least. And it is proven, the past couple of years, that releasing a game in the dead of summer is a good move, as far as sales go. Unless Blizzard makes a surprise release of Diablo 3 at that same time, in which case DS3 will have a really hard time.
  18. Away from Witcher 2, Dragon Age 2, Torchlight 2 and every MMO to be released. If it gets released mid-summer, it would be great timing for the game, I think. A lot of games benefit from such release dates.
  19. Well, Blizzard has a dedicated fanbase and they will of course want to leech that fanbase dry. Now, those people will most certainly get Cataclysm. A Q1 release for Diablo 3 would still be too close to the WoW expac's release, which goes against Blizzard's current marketing policy of spreading their releases across a certain period of time to maximize long term sales. It's why they're pushing Heart of the Zerg, or whatever the next StarCraft II installment is called, to mid 2012, and it's a long time for Blizzard NOT to release anything for a year and a half. Of course they would release Diablo III somewhere in between, closer to HotZ but still a ways away. However, you're right that ToR has little to do with it. I was pretty sure Cataclysm was due out in February as well and that would divide the potential Cataclysm audience and a close Diablo III release would further divide sales on both of their franchises. Blizzard would not make such a mistake. They would release it closer to another seemingly dead period, like they did with Wings of Liberty's June '10 release. Am I seeing too much into this marketing stuff? And why am I analyzing fraking Blizzard for Pete's sake! I shouldn't have to be doing this here!!!
  20. Man, am I late to the party or what? That New Vegas has me occupied completely! Anyway, congrats to all the people getting promotions. Keep up the good work!
  21. Definitely not Q1 2011. Blizzard is releasing the WoW: Cataclysm expac in February and there's the added competition of Bio's ToR, which - regardless if it will be a WoW killer or not - has a lot of momentum. Releasing Diablo III at said point would not be a good marketing move for Blizzard. Diablo 3 should be out, if Blizzard decides to release it within 2011, at least 6 months after Cataclysm's release. Even so, the closest thing to competition DS3 has, is Dragon Age 2, which is the only other big name multiplatform RPG. The Witcher 2 is still PC only, right?
  22. That's an incredible amount of feedback, Alvin! Thank WUE for asking all these good questions and thank you for taking the time and patience with us to answer them.
  23. You were playing on the same PC? As in simultaneous hotseat? Did we establish that already for DS3? I don't recall. No, I can totally understand how talking about a presentation and trying to play at the same time can be difficult. My cat meows and as soon as I try to turn my attention to her, I always end up dead when I'm gaming, let alone trying to do a presentation. We men are just NOT good at multi-tasking. Like I said, the presentation was pretty good and we got to see the 'revive' mechanic. I had no idea there even was one. Like I said, game looks awesome, not much to add to that.
