Try the arrow buttons. We already have penii and people having anal sex, I'm pretty sure that someone out there have made boobs.

I'm a bit dissapointed that Sporepedia only grew by 1000 creatures while I was sleeping. Awesome Not mine though.
-
Two of my better creatures. I tried the CC out yesterday and were a bit dissapointed in how easy it was to break it when you add a bit too long arms or silly legs. Quite fun though and I'm getting the game as soon as it comes out.

So the trial version of Spore Creature Creator is "leaked". It is also possible to see the creatures in Sporepedia, it's up to about 12,000 now. Stats: # Total number of creatures uploaded: 11937 # Total number of users: 11896 # Creatures uploaded in last 24 hours: 11231 # New users in last 24 hours: 11123

The controls are just the arrow keys. It ain't so bad with the exception that it is pretty redicilous that you can hack something by moving somthing past some something into some other something. Kinda the same feeling I got from Oblivions speechcraft mini game. Edit: It kinda feels out of place. Also reminds me of the minigames that Dreamfall had.

I'm pretty sure that the Lisbon Treaty doesn't trump any national constitutions as we would have had to have a plebiscite then. In fact the argument for carrying it through without plebiscite here in Denmark (as far as I remember) was that it didn't trump the constitution in any way and is just (they argue) another legal document. Also the USSR is a really bad example. Well you called it a stepping stone and... Never mind I guess it isn't important. You have yet to actually tell me what you mean by 'untouchable gonverning bla bla' as I'm really not sure exactly what you mean. Is it that they aren't all elected by the people or something else? So what, you think the EU is some huge crypto-socialist scheme?I also think that Walsh's comment was about the EU in general and the general EU beauracracy has a lot of nooks and crannies, some of them being very expensive black holes of silly compromises and other being close to outright red (farm subsidies etc.). The EU beauracracy can't be said to socialist as much of it has a liberal agenda (economic liberal) of creating common foreign policies and common policies on global warming and similar fun stuff. The Lisbon Treaty essentially tries to help the EU in uniting Europe even more on some of these points. Simply saying that the beauracracy is needed for socialism is a bit naive as most of the beauracracy is probably furthering liberal agendas.

A bit optimistic? The EU will probably just get it through piecemeal over the next 10 years trying their hardest to avoid a plebiscite. The peoples voices do matter as we still have something called a constitution on a national level. Also, simply having a so called 'untouchable governing body' doesn't lead to socialism (communism) nor is it neccesarily bad. The will of the people isn't becoming less of a factor (I actually think they could become more of a factor), the problem is the way the EU communicates, just look at this "Vote YES" poster: This is goddamn redicilous and exactly why I'm calling the EU an elitarian project and why I'm tired of bumbling morons trying to be politicians. The EU has a PR problem that it has to solve if it wants to prevent these roadblocks everytime they try to change something.

Since people here seem to care a lot about SecuROM I guess I can mention that I too have had a lot of problems with it e.g. I sometimes have to restart my computer before I can start the game. Mass Effect also seem less stable than earlier Bio games.
-
Define an 'untouchable governing body' and tell me just how it is supposed to lead to socialism, you did after all say that it was the first step and not just a part i.e. you have to have some idea of a slippery slope.

Obsidian Entertainment - Five Years Old!

Happy birthday Obsidian. -
At least it seems to tell us something about what feeling they're aiming for and I like.

I think Walsinghams comment when put up against the europen leaders talking about better democracy and how the EU needs to solve problems instead of falling back into a depression outlines well enough why the EU is failing. The EU cannot expect to continue properly without the support of the citizens of Europe and to get that support the citizens of Europe needs to know what the **** is going on. I'm myself becoming more and more disillusioned with this elitist project. I'm sad to say that that is one of the most stupid comments I've ever seen from you Taks. The individual countries are plenty good at falling back into that dark pit all by themselves, they don't need the EU for that and that isn't what the EU is about.

So can any of you guys tell me how it hold up to the other games in the series? Preferably without spoilers. Also Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, good Y/N? Wikipedia talks about alterations and that scares me.

Comparing the difference between relatively advanced 2d graphics and modern 3d to modern movies and silent films is a bit of a stretch isnt't it? I guess my problem is that I see game developement as a zero-sum game and as such a souped-up JA2 (or XCOM) would be infinitely worse than a new series where the developers can innovate and create a lot without ruining anything. Also JA2 works fine on Vista.
-
So no comments on the Irish vote? (They voted no to the Lisabon treaty for those of you who don't know)
-
Why not just play X-COM then? Are you seriously saying that you would rather developers spend their time creating XCOM 1.5 instead of breaking new ground and starting a different but good and interesting series of games within the tactical squadbased roleplaying game genre? The reason fro me to even mention the XCOM series, was that I think the reason why it went so downhill is that there is little more to do there, without creating versions that are just improved ones instead of being new, i.e. they don't (can't) innovate in important areas without becoming something else than XCOM and as such I don't see the point of creating anymore XCOM (or JA) games.

May I suggest that if you try to do something like this, that you don't confine youself to NWN2: Jagged Alliance mod? I think you can have much more succes by trying to create a tactically interesting mod that lets itself be inspired by all the great tactics games out there instead of trying to shoehorn Jagged Alliance into something that it doesn't fit. @ CrashGirl's JA3 mulling. I keep wondering why anyone at all would be interested in JA3. From my way of seeing things JA2 took that way of doing tactical squadbased roleplaying games (or whatever freakishly long name you call that genre ) to its ultimate potential. I personally think that any squad based tactical roleplaying games should try to steer away from the genres-within-the-genres that are already established and try to break new ground into something that haven't been explored withing the genre. The X-COM series is an example of why series shouldn't be continued unless it can be justified by there still being new ground withing the subgenre that the game covers. I guess I should end my squad-based-tactical-roleplaying-game drought induced rant now.

Fixed. Since this is a wishlist I'm gonna say 5 weapon types where the differences matter instead of 20 where the difference is marginal or where 50% are obviously inferiour to the rest. Most DnD games have more weapon types than they can handle. The same goes for armor types, alchemy ingridient types etc. I hate clutter.

Squad mates taking cover: Mine only ever did so when I directly asked them to by using the tactical screen (spacebar) and clicked on the ground behind cover with the left mouse button. You shouldn't rely too much on your squad, though, since they suck as much as they always do in Bioware RPGs. Also Soldiers are only better in combat Vis-

This. Barrier is extremely overpowered. Which class are you Steve?

We should not put it as black and white as that since a lot in voices come not from the actors but how we hear the voices and what we make of them. I didn't get that Joker was the guy who did Scott Evil before I looked on IMDB, now it is completely obvious.

Black main characters never really feel right since they're always voiced by white people.

Yes and no. Colonization was very focused on the economy and being the colonies of one of four countries. I didn't try it when it came out but tried it later when I found it at a friends house, good ideas and fun but very old. As far as I remember you won by defeating the homeland in a great war. I'm sure that one of our oldskool guys can explain it better or you can go to wikipedia.

My female Shepard had a horrible plastic face whenever she talked to Kaidan, I think it had something to do with the lighting. Edit: Either that or she was very a lot of makeup.

Civilization IV: Colonization. The only better thing would be a new Alpha Centauri. Screens.
