So are you going to buy Mass Effect PC ?
Moatilliatta replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Computer and Console
The reason why they do that is that people don't read the FAQ in general and as you can see by reading the thread thy sometimes don't even read the dev posts. It has nothing to do with ill-will but probably Bioware not knowing what is causing the problem since as you can see by reading the thread, it is a very complex problem caused by people using all sorts of weird programs. -
PETITION: PLEASE CHANGE THE INFINITE AMMO DESIGN
Moatilliatta replied to Xard's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
I must admit that I would be willing to sign this "petition" if it is simply about streamlining stuff and making it less challenging. The way I see it unlimited ammo could be a good choice if you want a situation different from the Deus Ex (which is a game that did ammo scarcity quite well). In Deus Ex all the guns were used to a degree because relying on a single gun would lead to it running out of ammo and as such you would have to make a choice or be forced to, this was fun because it made you change your style of play and was fun while doing so. The way I would like to see AP going is that the guns should demand use in that the player would want to use a specific gun for the level or situation that he is in because it's a good idea and not because he is lacking ammo. As Pop points out, non-infinite ammo is rarely done well since it has to be a conscious design choice to actually have effect. You couldn't just stock up on ammo in Deus Ex by buying from stores with unlimmited quantities (or large enough to be practically unlimited), so the only way to run out of ammo in most games is to forget to buy and that is a major annoyance that I would rather not meet. -
1) I'm pretty sure that you can buy repair service in stores. 2) You don't NEED certain skills. Armorer is just a way of always having top-notch weapons without returning to town and later on having 25% better weapons. You have a point as to locks and every character NEEDING either high alteration or high lockpicking (if we ignore super-reflex-super-hearing wizkids) but besides that you don't need anything as the games supplies everything from potions to repair services. Hell you could probably do without the lock defeating skills through clever scrolls use. I've personally played many different characters that had completely different skill sets. Also in case you want to take the argument all the way, yes, every character becomes the same in the end since they can reach 100 in all skills, but does anyone really play that long? and why should Bethesda keep them from becoming gods? What do you mean?

Good man/girl/woman/person/thing. I approve! Yeah, I guess I'm a bit too acceptive as I've always seen Bethesda games as being quite silly. Morrowind had a combat system where you could hit people and still miss. I'm not even gonna touch Daggerfall. I've become sort of immune to their sillyness and just judge them by the raw gameplay value.

PETITION: PLEASE CHANGE THE INFINITE AMMO DESIGN
Moatilliatta replied to Xard's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
I'm not gonna whine about this as I have enough faith in Obsidian. I also don't recognice the problems Xard pointed out in his OP. -
But surely it is the sexual attraction that certain religions could potentially have trouble with. I've yet to see religious fundamentalists whine about platonic love. The problem with homosexuality and religions is that the sexual relationship must neccesarily be based on the pleasure of being together in a sexual manner, this clashes with many parts of quite a large amount of religions. I do realize that human relations are about more than just sex. This isn't just homosexuality either, some of the things I do could probably be termed "sexual misconduct" and be wrong according to Tibetan buddhism and probably other flavours as well.

Perhaps the most intelligent answer yet. Play a bit and take notice of the things that annoy you. I also want to voice the opinion that it is in no way impossible or unlikely that people will dislike unmodded Oblivion as it isn't quite as bad as most people make it out to be.

Leopard is OS X 10.5.x Edit: The animal names change for each version.

No you mentioned persecution and it looked to me (wrongly apparently) like you were trying to say that they hadn't ever practiced apostasy. Yeah, I guess I saw wrong. I didn't say you were. Ain't gonna happen anytime soon. We're gonna se a lot more of this before the middle east becomes secular. I meant chaste as in no casual sex. You're right that it is possible to be homosexual in Buddhism if you read everything the way you want to read it to feel good about yourself but then you might as well be christian or muslim.
-
It's a big stretch to say all do it, but he specifically mentioned christianity and they have done it for Apostasy. I do agree that this has little to do with modern Iran as the acts of long ago has little to do with today or even tomorrow.
-
@Gorth Good question. Apostasy has been punished with death by christian churces in the past. I don't think that christianity in the past has much to do with modern day Iran though. Edit: @Gorgon Homosexuals won't find a home in Buddhism unless they're willing to become chaste and then what's the point. Buddhism is if I remember correctly pretty heavy on renouncing worldly pleasures.

They might just, unlike me, be gurgling in the privacy of their own home and not reporting here on the forum everytime they get hot and bothered for RA3. Oh look Spore. I very much support Maxis' Strategy of hiring surprisingly jailbait software engineers.

So does Iran have a lot of people converting from Islam to something different? Or is this more of a movement to formalise sharia? Does anyone know?

RA3 seems to have gotten the pretty women down quite well. Also to prevent my posts in this thread from being too RA3 centered, Bioware employees are clever and make me hyped for a game that I know zero about. Good PR that. ...shudder... ...I mean yes! It sure did! And it's not even about the game. Edit: Italicized

My zombie survival situation is approximately the same as Gorgon since we live in the same city and as such are prohibited from lifesaving appliances like swords and guns. I am in the lucky situation that I'd be able to smash the only staircase leading to my habitat and could with clever use of a rope establish a zombie free zone that will allow me enough time to come up with a plan to get to wherever would be usefull. I do need to establish some kind of emergency supply of food.

Form over function?
-
Because you like unsupported operating systems?
-
Seriously? I was gonna mention the last time you mentioned it that they'll probably scrap it and make windows 7 another uninteresting OS. I just love when my low expectations of Microsoft are correct. If you're buying or building a new system, otherwise I would tend to agree with you. Yeah. Most of the people who have Vista now are people who have upgraded recently and wasn't whiny enough to immediately switch back to XP. The last bit has become increasingly valid the last year or so.

Parts of Jason talking looked and sounded a bit off and weird. Other than that this still seems like a game worth buying. This changes my life completely.
-
Does it do anything apart from buffing up monsters? Any new content? Weapon changes? All I know is that I've seen some pretty interesting screenshots from it and it seems awesome. There is driving in it. Why don't you go see for yourself.
-
So is OB worht playing? I've been giving it some thought but not quite sure whether it's worth it.
-
They are actually. FCOM is MMM + OOO and a few others. Since it is modular you can play just MMM+OOO or any other variation of the supported mods that you might want.

Oblivion Lost is supposedly quite interesting. I haven't tried it.
