  1. Then you're not taking Minsc as Dynaheir is an important part of his character.
  2. For like five seconds, yeah. I wasn't affected much by the enviroment but rather by me being dumb enough that I had just wasted all my bullets on a target that I couldn't hit. Luckily Crysis had ammo in abundance.
  3. I haven't no. I doubt that I'll be as excited as you as I wasn't too awed by the "philosophy" of MGS1 and have heard that 2 is worse, so I'm kinda awaiting a bull**** overload so that I can concentrate on the gameplay and the narrative, which is incidentially the high-points of MGS1
  4. Not if we're talking basic functionality and games that are out (I've plenty of love for DoW2). Disagree, it has best RTS gameplay mechanics (with actually giving importance to moral, cover etc.) and great factions to play with That is unless latest expansion pack screwed it CoH has that and more, I'm not sure where you're coming from. CoH is literally an incremental improvement across the board (gameplay mechanics wise, WW2 can go screw itself). CoH has an improved cover system that is actually somewhat realistic in the context of the enviroment and not just patches of cover. I guess you could argue that it was wrong to move from the naive morale system of DoW to the more complex system of being pinned down that CoH has, I just find it a very weird thing to say. I agree that the factions in 40k are better but that's not really an argument as I was talking about base mechanics.
  5. I haven't played Farcry so no comments on that. Crysis is fun if you can squeeze it out of the not very well developed suit mechanics and it can be a lot of fun for a while if you do that.
  6. I'm not. You're also assuming that I have a PS2. My brother has one that I could steal borrow though, so I could be persuaded to play it on a console instead of the PC, if you have any arguments for it. I guess I should also check for any serious Vista compatibility issues.
  7. Company of heroes? Why didn't you mention Company of Heroes? World in Conflict is only really good if you can play co-op with and against friends. Not if we're talking basic functionality and games that are out (I've plenty of love for DoW2).
  8. Or they might just make a 360 or PS3 version. Which will probably mean that it will have less cutting edge graphics and more gamplay or possibly just less graphics.
  9. That's what I've been hearing. I'm personally gonna buy it as soon as the current generation of games stop raping my wallet. @Xard Been eating a lot of sugar lately?
  10. Clear sky is gonna be crack cocaine. In other news, Ragnar T
  11. Crysis Warhead announced - Rock, Paper, shotgun article
  12. Also some of you guys need to check your chill'o'meter since it seems to have gone into the negatives.
  13. He only have five minutes.
  14. What kind of freaky otherworldly definition of usable are you guys running on? You guys can argue that it is bloated or that it doesn't bring anything new to the table, but arguing that it isn't usable is stretching the fabric of existence. Some interesting Vista links: Vista finds rootkit. Mating season, experts explain. Vista faster than XP. Capitalist nonsense according to slashdot commentator.
  15. I knew I shouldn't have clicked that link.
  16. Thanks a lot Tale, you just brought back horrible memories of looking for portraits for hours only to find that 50% of them is thinly veiled fantasy porn. I'm so happy we are moving away from portraits. Or simple and quite horrible recouloring of the original portraits. Imoen with horribly yellow hair?
  17. Thanks for sharing your story with us Alvin. This is an awesome thread.
  18. I really like her. Probably my favorite character in BG2. Well written and a very interesting side quest. I feel he same way. We must be triplets! It's the only explanation. Quadruplets! One of the reasons why I keep trekking through Bioware romances is that I'm hoping that I'll find something of equal quality.
  19. I was just commenting on the description.
  20. That is essentially the same as AP. Do remember that AP has unlimited ammo for most weapons, not all of them. Edit: What I'm trying to say is that masses might as well equal unlimited and then you have AP.
  21. I agree, it is quite interesting.
  22. @Xard Yeah I realize why you do it but... it's long god dammit. The biggest mistake I can find in your reasoning is that you work from the assumption that AP will be like all other games with real time shooting i.e. lots of weapons, we don't know if we have this. I actually think that the article is suggesting that we won't have a lot of different weapons on a mission and that leaves quite a lot of possibility that the weapons will be differentiated through other means than ammo consumption.
  23. Complexity is only good if it brings something to the game. The thing I'm hoping for is that Obsidian is removing unnecesary complexity as I outlined in my earlier post. Ammo is only usefull as a game mechanic if it is scarce and/or has great variation by design, if such a design vision has never been present in AP then it is only logical to remove it. The article that mentioned unlimited ammo also mentioned introducing things gradually to make the game easier to get inot, this suggests that there is complexity in the game, just not in the ammo department. The article mentioned that a specific weapon will have limited ammo, this is probably because it is very powerful. Edit: Just read that you mentioned this. Whoops. Edit: Also, seriously, tl;dr. I'm trying to read through all of it but god damn.
  24. @Scorpion1813 I meant demand in a way that a gun should be very suited to a level/situation by design. The player should obviously still be left with the choice, especially since there could be multiple answers to the question of which gun to use. Edited for direction.
