  1. You can also click the gem in the chat channel! *click* Gem Activated. *click* Gem Deactivated *click* Gem Activated. *click* Gem Deactivated *click* Mooooooo! I recomend going online if you can do it LAN or with someone from here, as the average Diablo denizen is best ignored.
  2. Aren't the Sanctuary rogues female only as well? I would absolutely love a rogue inspired by the D1 class as it was the one I favoured. I wonder if Blizzard will decide to be awesome and try for a 2012 release to cash in on end of the world hype. Also, there is very little WoW graphics to speak of and it is only present in the somewhat disturbingly light UI.
  3. Varied environs are alright even though D2 chapter 2 sucked hard out in the desert. My problem is that it doesn't make me feel like the world is about to be eaten by demons. Also I don't think we know if the gameplay trailer is the start of the game (do we?) but even then there are demons and undead everywhere so why aren't there any bodies chopped in two? And why is the sun up when we enter boring grasslands? I would bet that dusk or dawn would work better. I'm hoping that it will change in the next two or so years to be actually relatively creepy or that they will show us that at least part of the game is like that. Edit: Also, who said that D2 was in anyway good at atmosphere?
  4. So I'm looking through the Diablo 2 strategy guide that I've no idea where I got from: Wouldn't conviction work well for a singleplayer paladin as it targets his enemies? I must admit that I've never tried it and don't know if the progression on higher levels is good since it slows down more than I would like. Fanaticism seems to give very little attack rate 8 points or so in and I'm not too fond of that, but I guess it could be a usefull skill. I seem to remember why I never really enjoyed paladins, they suck.
  5. Isn't Fanaticism mostly a hack through weak enemies fast skill? Not really that usefull in singleplayer. Sacrafice csts 8 percent health per use and can be dangerous for an inexperienced user. Not that I'm clever on paladins or anything, just saying.
  6. I'm pretty sure that they've mostly mentioned NWN, the Baldurs gate series and KOTOR. Also: The last time the subject came up, in fact. Even on our side, however, it's largely subjective. I can tell you what it means for me to carry on the spirit of a game in a new project-- but there is no "real" definition My list of games that need playing: NWN2 - I've started and stopped before the end two times now and want to finish it before I buy MOTB C&C: Tiberian Sun - Need to finish again before C&C3 C&C 3 Games that I'm looking forward to: Dragon Age Red Aler 3 Left 4 Dead Spore Fallout 3 Diablo III NWN: SoZ Alpha Protocol Aliens RPG Starcraft 2 Way too many games in the future.
  7. There is only one campaign whether it's single or multiplayer. Why do you keep dying? Are you surrounded? Do you use potions? Auras (Prayer is an aura, right?) are in my opinion only really usefull in multiplayer (since they affect other players and their minions) and you should think about skilling up something else. I never were that hot on palladins but may I suggest Bash (knockback, stun, damage) or Zeal (multiple enemies)? I seem to remember that those two skill aren't too bad when the endgame comes and should work well now. Edit: Also, prayer does heal but slowly. Edit the second: And is VERY effective in multiplayer.
  8. Isn't that the third time we have that article linked? I just love the way Oli Welsh misspelled Crytek as Crtyek as if it were some dark god of lies. In other news Crytek still whining.

    hi

At least he tries this time.
  10. Your combat skill will overtake some enemies and even then there will be enemies hiding somewhere that will kick you straight over white gold tower. Really, just go into the mountains and wrestle a bear, that is what the TES games are for.
  11. It does so by removing enemies levelling up with you and as such you can't attain high level by useless skills and suck at combat. I think that is the problem you refer to. You still have to level skills to gain ekstra ability levelup (+1, +2, +3, +4 and +5) but that is mostly there so powergamers can wet themselves when they get a 3*5 levelup. Just play the game and be carefull not to run into powerfull monsters as they will now actually kick your behind. Edit: Does this answer your problem or did I misunderstand?
  12. I would suggest multiplayer as it is much more fun than singleplayer and what the game was made for.
  13. I don't think this has been posted:
  14. I wonder how harcore mode will work when whe seemingly don't have potions anymore. Will we have to stay out of fights till a random glowing red ball drops?
  15. The gems is back! Perfect Gem Activated
  16. Wait a second! They only have five character classes and the witchdoctor is very close to the necromancer... they've taken away my necromancer! From the FAQ: I wonder if Warriv is still traveling with his caravan.
  17. Dekkard's diary on the D3 site seems to suggest - similarly to D1 - that Adria is more than she let on and considering that they mention her there she might actually have an apperance in this game or a possible sequel. *crosses fingers* Also it seems that the canon is that Diablo was defeated by a group of heroes in D2. From what I can gather from the site, the gameplay video dungeon is Tristram Cathedral and I must say that I'm dissapointed in it being so illuminated, that clinches with what I remember of D1 and it could potentially be D3's biggest problem. Edit: What I mean is that a good atmosphere might be D3's biggest problem, not so much whether they get Tristram Cathedral completely right.
  18. It seems that laying the smack down on the worldstone had a pretty large effect:
  19. WHERE? I'M USING CAPS BECAUSE ADRIA WAS AWESOME AND I NEED TO KNOW! Also Caldeum seems to be a much more interesting environment - like Lut Gholein at its best.
  20. I'm thinking that they should make it somewhat darker. D1 was extremely dark and very fitting for the game. The dungeon has extremely few lightsources and still it is about as dark as my computer room on a cloudy day. Are you serious? I need to go back and listen and potentially chastise myself for not recognizing such a fine voice actress.
  21. I'm violating my own opinion that this thread should stay mostly D3, facts and reactions but this is beyond .
  22. This is Blizzard we're talking about, their polish is 90% of the developement time and we have literally no idea how far along they are. Personally I think it looks really good and is currently where Titan Quest and the other boring clones should have been, fun in combat. I'm a bit worried about whether the environments will be interesting as none of the environments in the gameplay video seemed interesting, though Blizzard could still be working on this and it is certainly still possible that it will be better when it comes out. The only thing I saw that was really good was that the ghouls we're capable of climbing up the sides of the floor-bridge in the first few seconds, awesome. The Site seems more atmospheric than what we've seen of the game. Someone look at the barb female in the character class part of the world description, doesn't that look a lot like the Icewind Dale 2 "look" of the portraits? I'm a bit worried about the choosing gender part as it might mean that I won't have my Amazon back. At least I won't recognice the possibility that Amazons can be male.
  23. Well I did mention that it would make us leeches and it usually sucks to have a leach leaching off of you. I don't really believe that we as euros are the cause of any american policies. They would probably be more likely to laugh at us than be contrarian. Does anyone know if the modern percieved problem of arms proliferation is a modern problem that started relatively recent or if it is an inheritance of the past?
  24. You've got a point. The more we say that guns are American, the more likely they are to want guns. I know I probably would. On top of that it probably strengthen our own wish not to have guns or gun violence and as such we could be said to be leeches leeching off America.
  25. The Bloom is a bit excessive but still seems to mesh quite well with the steel walls, and for all we know those lamps are future-lampsTM and are supposed to be like that in the retro future. It makes me want to actually be in the safe confines of the vault, and that spells success to me. Bethesda tends to be alright in creating atmosphere when they actually try.
