  1. There is one very specific thing that Morrowind did better, using the lore of the setting in making the world interesting in a fun manner. Oblivion uses stuff like the necromancers and Mannimarco in the mages-guild questline but it devolves quickly to carrot-on-a-stick and is quite boring. Morrowind did better with its dissapearance of the dwemer not-quite-storyline-but-still-somewhat-storyline. It was much better than any of the carrots in Oblivion and to a great deal what that world lacked. Oblivion is still quite a lot of fun for people with their head screwed on right even if it quickly devolves into a dungeoncrawling diablo-ish thing. Also, since I always do this when someone mentions Oblivion: Kaboom!
  2. Helloooooo awesome.
  3. I wouldn't be surprised if you would need all three Mass Effects for it to become BG1 in length. So yeah. Vista? First rule of Vista is to always run everything in admin mode. There is no reason not to.
  4. I'm pretty sure that they've said that we should keep our savefiles because decisions in ME1 will have effects in ME2 or something like that. Edit: Wikipedia seems to agree:
  5. What elements are those that I, who thought JE was a huge step down, value? Personally I thought it was just generally worse than anything they had done before with the exception of combat and art.
  6. @Tale And just because you haven't seen it being used in a meaningfull way means that it must be meaningless? The reason hypersexuality is meaningless in almost all (if not all) cases is that people put it in to titilate the viewer and not as some sort of artistic expression. Sexuality is overused even in most movies, but it is usefull if people want to use it.
  7. I agree with Pidesco, hypersexuality isn't a problem, it just sticks out because games have plenty of serious problems like bad writing. Also, why would he try to imitate ZP when he obviously can't do it properly? Edit: I also like that all the Related videos in youtube are about porn and swingers.
  8. Depends on who you are. Sand seemed to praise it highly. Personally I find the combat to be somewhat interesting for a while and most of the NPCs and the story to be below Bioware's ussual relative competency. It's relatively cheap on steam and while it's a bit short it could very well be worth buying, I haven't regretted it yet. At the same time it is the only Bioware game which I haven't cared to replay as it just isn't that interesting.
  9. They are on steam with Jade Empire. I'm beginning to have my doubts whether they'll have future games on there because of the whole EA thing.
  10. . .. ... *Looks out the window* Nope, not yet at least. @Morgoth How different is Piranha Byte games in the german and english translations? @SteveThaiBinh Have you checked out the rules of using EA store? I personally find them horrible.
  11. I'm not qualified either, it just seems logical to remove any chance of software errors before messing with the hardware. If it is a virus then a Win repair should fix it? If it isn't fixed then you try the hardware. Trial and error is a vastly underused problemsolving method.
  12. Huh? I've personally found that many game voice actors are extremely skilled. Sure you haven't just been playing awfull games? I'm buying it a few days after it hits. Like Xard said, I was actually talking about dubs, not original work. In that case the entire idea of localization is only fit for people who won't realize that their languages are clinically dead. Subtitles are for children and womenfolk. I too can be mightily elitist about this.
  13. Huh? I've personally found that many game voice actors are extremely skilled. Sure you haven't just been playing awfull games? I'm buying it a few days after it hits.
  14. Could that create such a problem though? I've seen boot-sector viruses but never anything like what is described in the OP. Have you tried to do a windows repair (or whatever it is called)? Ruling out potential software problems is always a good way to start.
  15. Not really, but I am running Vista on this PC and I have not tried it on my XP machine yet. I've tried it on both XP and Vista and haven't yet had a problem like CG describes.
  16. @Walsingham I'm not sure if they need it, but I too believe that is the intended effect of the anti-israel rethoric. I've heard this one before and it has never seemed a reasonable argument to me. I would be more willing to believe that conspiracy people tend to attack Israel because it is easy and because it fits well into their already laid out line of atacking their own or any other relevant government. Edit: For direction.
  17. Just google it is everywhere. It is hard to find the quote in anything that I would call trustworthy sources though.
  18. I've never tried Omelette before is it recomendable and how is the replayability? So where can I find a 10/10 omelette?
  19. I just love single-smiley posts. So you didn't like Russia winning?
  20. The problem isn't whether he has a point (most people do), but that the analogy is so wrong that everyone who reads it can point out why. Also, to make it worse, this is an internet forum and not a hall of Ph.Ds.
  21. So that's why noone ever listens to me? Brilliant!
  22. I never heard a word Molyneux said until this year. I played Fable when it came out for PC. I hated it. The humor is grating. There's basically one joke, but it's repeated constantly, and at the end of every line anyone says to you, 'ero. The entire setting and story was a painfully idiotic extension of this bad joke. The gameplay was little but hack & slash. As a hack & slash it's decent. Maybe even good if you like hack & slashes. But the painfully bad humor and terrible setting bring it down. Yeah. I guess I should have worded my post so as to allude to the point of it being a reply to this comment: I'm perfectly aware that it isn't necesarily a game that someone will like. This is actually the reason I haven't bought it yet as I'm waiting for it to fall sufficiently in price till that I'm willing to give it a chance. I wish it were on Steam so that I could buy it in one of those insane "100 games for 2$" packages that they like to make once in a while.
  23. Aren't the people who dislike it the ones who listened to what Molyneux said? I haven't played it but that is the story I'm getting.
  24. "Bloated" is a pretty easy argument against anything that does too much. The problem is that it isn't low quality beyond what you usually find in mods, and it doesn't so much do too much, as in it puts stuff everywhere, what it does is give is a much greater variety. The only actual bloat is the Oblivion folder after installing all the mods.
  25. I don't use, or particularly like, some of the modifications included in that package, although I guess it might be worth trying again. The entire point is that it is modular and you only have to install the parts that you want. I do agree that some of the stuff in some of the mods (I must admit that I have no idea which parts of the added stuff belong to which mod ) is completely ludicrous. I just don't think that you can argue against it with all the stuff it adds.
