SPOILERS About the end
uuuhhii replied to Nssheepster's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
That is what I meant, in fact, because the main plot and everything else should not revolve around this Gods - because they stories is not the main story, it is only knowledge about the world of Eora. I hope that without The Wheel they will have to go into the background and they will not get into the Eora's life without serious necessary. Where is Naasitaq? Is it not on the Archipelago? Instead of the next quest about the Gods could tell us about the life of this region. That's the problem. Naasitaq is a remote southern island nation, located in the Deadfire Archipelago. Many boreal dwarves and aumaua share the rocky tundra and snow-covered forests with far-roaming caravan elves who drift near the shoreline. Naasitaq is the biggest and most stable nation around. Various nations and empires fight over the islands, to the east of which are sea monsters that invariably annihilate any ships that attempt to go exploring (many of them dwarven). Where is it in game? The gods have to go into the background, because of this, there is small place in the story for really important things. That is why Metaphysics in this game should sink into oblivion. Metaphysics destroys resources for more mundane and interesting stories, inflates empty stories about gods to the Epic level, they really mean nothing. The foundation of these stories is a Engwithans lie, it's no more does not cause awe. Need make Pillars of Eternity Great Again! the problem is too many players expect high stake for main story most commonly save the world from total destruction poe1 tried relatively low stake with bleak and sad environment and atmosphere deadfire tried to find a better way to deal with the problem by showing gods arguing and make main character not much of a chosen one but it still suffer from common problem of similar setting a crisis threaten to destroy the world but player can still waste month to complete all the side stuff a ending that players choice will change the world forever but still have to be compatible with whatever the sequel will made up similar difficulties plague more then one series of rpg -
SPOILERS About the end

From PoE2's story i got the impression that the degradation was caused by the gods syphoning small chunks of essence from reincarnating souls (thus fracturing the souls) instead of being a natural occurrence, or perhaps it was already a part of the natural reincarnation cycle and the creation of the Wheel worsened it. In any case, we will probably not now for sure until PoE3 is released. soul break down was definitely a thing before the gods the place rymrgand rule now existed before rymrgand it was likely the inspiration of wtw religion and rymrgand in the first place and thaos did mention soul will become dust eventually if it was caused by existence of gods it was unlikely he will mention it and magic exist before gods too so there are soul fragment everywhere before gods -
big bug or kraken or big ooze are ok in concept but the other two have some problem a wizard with some overpowered sigil or a impossible to produce giant construct are very weird what material or equipment they used to make the construct's part? why it didn't sink in to the sand immediately? how did they get souls powerful enough to power it the guardian of ukaizo used dragon soul and the modern animancer have problem understand how did engwithan titan get powered

v4.1.0 is now available on the Beta Branch
uuuhhii replied to Cdiaz's question in Patch Beta Bugs and Support
The Courier's Calling encounter no longer triggers without Maia in party. finally that's an old one did the last word enchantment fixed? -
After "Rogues are the best class" and "Wizards are useless" in PoE forums this is the crassest misjudgement I read so far (at least from a mechanical point of view). Grimoires allow Wizards to skip all spells at lvl-up (and only take passives - or in case of multiclass: take only actives from the second class) and still be able to cast spells as if he had learned them. How on Earth and Eora is that almost useless? It's THE biggest complaint of players when they compare Priests and Druids with Wizards: that the Wizard has those omnipotent Grimoires. This is so outrageous that I'm about to summon Gromnir! wizard have too many unique spell in special grimoire but very few in subclass like druid and priest some grimoire even have special ability like 1 more use of every level spells

maros nua climb out of caed nua are a clever move as main character motive goes it was much better than poe1(awaken by random evil ritual and have soul that happen to be a inquisitor under thaos?) almost genius and can not be replicated if some ancient fampyr wake up and destroy caed nua again players will stop caring about the unnecessary management thing in the poe1 new main character can be some random soldier mercenary or agent send by watcher to investigate something never get why watcher go back to dyrwood after deadfire anyway

presumed similar theories what ever eothas destroyed deep beneath the earth if player convince eothas to end eora maybe the core of adra before engwithan changes and part of its function rerouted to ukaizo and adra are the only thing exist in both the here and the beyond(really hate these weird names in poe) so it was not just material -
SPOILERS About the end
uuuhhii replied to Nssheepster's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
remember how the adra pillar in dyrwood are dark and said to be growing at some point in distant past but not anymore and how engwithan have the ability to control adra growth and how only adra pillar in deadfire(near the machine of ukaizo) are luminous so not hard to have the vague understanding of what engwithan did may not be easily reversible if at all -
SPOILERS About the end

As I understood: Before Engwithans have altered THE WHEEL: - none from the living really knows how it worked exactly. Be it because noone ever knew, or because all information about this was destroyed. - but we know that people were born and that people died. - most likely it was an unmanaged process of BORN->LIVED->DIED->traveled to IN BETWEEN->got moved by WHEEL to THE BEYOND->was born again. - iirc Thaos also made a remark how you could be knowledgeable and have a strong soul in this life, but get randomly reborn as a hare. thaos reflect how much engwithan know about the soul(gods probably know much more but unlikely waste time to tell thaos everything) and thaos seems to believe in the souls are just meaninglessly endlessly reincarnate until completely break down to dust this is most likely to be true for soul didn't grow strong enough in each cycle and to eothas the meaning of engwithan gods and new reincarnation system are encourage souls to be stronger with each passing generation gods are more likely each have their own understanding and intention for existing and how they want to influence reincarnation -
bos are probably best part of the game though not favorite the trailer of sss are some what bland not sure why like it so much especially liked the last part with fire titan forgotten sanctum are everything this series need only piece missing are a dlc about magran woedica and skaen not just the three pieces of crown in the dlcs

Yeah, Dorudugan is a mega megaboss for my bloodmage/nalpazca build. Every other megaboss was piss easy, even Huani. He was just a big lumbering piece of hp that posed no threat to me. Dorudugan otherwise, eff this guy. How did you kill Huani O Whe without controlable summons? What did you do after the split? Or did you cheese it so it died upon split? put chanter between two ooze and endlessly summon skeleton but stun and paralyze them are more important

Favorite part of game
uuuhhii replied to msyoung's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
the three dawnstar before eothas forehead -
I tried that to Dorudugan. I have 205 deflection and I still get hit... His cleave attack always rolls at high 90's so it will always hit you. The most success I've had to facetanking Dorudugan is bloodmage/nalpazca monk (sage). 205 deflection + blade turning (redirects Dordugan's attacks back to him) + enduring dance (even blood sacrifice and dordugan's attacks are not enough to refill the wounds to reliably keep using blade turning) The problem with this is you will last LOOOONG and deal 1 bar of dordugan's HP (just off of the redirected attacks) but you will still die in the end. His cleave attack goes through 205 deflection like butter as well as his cleave attack for some stupid reason does not get redirected to him. His cleave attack does ALOT too even with 20 armor. However, if you have a herald as a 2nd character it is able to heal all the damage sustained by my blood mage deflection monk build. So you can 2v1 Dorudugan but not solo. that megaboss have 159 base accuracy 200 defence are not enough
