I tried that to Dorudugan. I have 205 deflection and I still get hit... His cleave attack always rolls at high 90's so it will always hit you. The most success I've had to facetanking Dorudugan is bloodmage/nalpazca monk (sage). 205 deflection + blade turning (redirects Dordugan's attacks back to him) + enduring dance (even blood sacrifice and dordugan's attacks are not enough to refill the wounds to reliably keep using blade turning) The problem with this is you will last LOOOONG and deal 1 bar of dordugan's HP (just off of the redirected attacks) but you will still die in the end. His cleave attack goes through 205 deflection like butter as well as his cleave attack for some stupid reason does not get redirected to him. His cleave attack does ALOT too even with 20 armor. However, if you have a herald as a 2nd character it is able to heal all the damage sustained by my blood mage deflection monk build. So you can 2v1 Dorudugan but not solo. that megaboss have 159 base accuracy 200 defence are not enough

Patch Notes for 4.0.0
uuuhhii replied to Cdiaz's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Announcements & News
I think rebalancing the scaling rules would be more productive. I think the problem is the scaling is stuck at bumping things up a maximum of 4 levels, so a level 8 creature bumps up to a maximum of 12. If the maximum scaling was something like 9 then that level 8 can now go as high as 17, preserving some of the difficulty all the way to level 20. Both the XP gain rate and level scaling cap are issues fixed by the Deadly Deadfire mod. I highly recommend it. level scaling and ptod should also stop give ar and pen buff to ai it just doesn't make sense maybe give them better equipment and replace them with higher level version -

Ish. Llengrath leaving is causing a lot of issues, so I'm looking to adjust that in our next patch. It's a big change, though, so I'm being careful with it. Regardless, there should be some solution in the next update. Is there a slide associated with the godseed business, or is it just like Tayn (i.e., hand in, get reward)? Also, is full ending slide narration planned? Thanks. three ending slide about it but trigger the quest require player either make a shady option and give llengrath modified version of tome or kill all the collection

Level cap increase?
uuuhhii replied to Bleak's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
never understand why anyone want higher level 20 are clearly the best number to end with -
But how would you swap them with Porokoa when his fight comes after the part where you talk to Whehami? If you want Muatu to become the Faces, then you need to empower him before talking to Whehami. If you want the Porokoa to become the Faces, you need Whehami's axe/to be the Champion of the Slayer. Though, in either case the outcome is quite bad (random corpses). Thanks. I did Seeker instead. Does that mean for things to just continue as they are you need to talk down Whehami rather than fight him? You can fight Whehami and the outcome will be reasonably decent. I've never managed to talk him down, because of the requirements (to be his chosen and to have Intimidate 16, maybe something else), so not sure, if it changes much. There was another thread about endings for SSS with more information (https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/106399-seeker-slayer-survivor-ending-question-spoiler/). Yeah I read that thread before posting this one, but they don't actually say if the ending is any different that way. Did you get: The Faces of the Hunt continue to rule the Crucible in Galawain's or rather Toamowhai's name... Also trying to figure out if it changes anything if you sacrifice the souls to the crucible. Yes, I got that ending. I guess (haven't checked), if you didn't destroy Cignath Mor (the underwater facility) and sacrificed the souls to the Crucible, Galawain is less hostile (?). before fight crocodile the galawain talk have two version one is more angry one is less and say the connection with arena has restored but not the same latter can be triggered by deal with the faces more peacefully such as convince slayer to give up give essence to the island seems to have no effect other than +2 accuracy
