Would have been awesome, instead we got Colonial Marines. SEGAAAAAAAAA. And I think I've seen that footage before, it was from early alpha stage afaik.

I am highly impressed with Feargus. The fact the company is still running is a huge feat. Troika tried, they ultimately failed. BioWare was around for a while, but the owners decided to cash in. Who else is there (in the Western world) that actully does what Obsidian does, without a being a division of some big *** publisher. Oh and I don't think they are working on a Batman game, at least not one that would be published this year and that would mean it's not Arkham something. The contract was done in December that hardly leaves any time for development with the next game in Arkham series supposed to come out sometime this year.
-
That new contract is some excellent news! Happy to see them doing well with South Park, Eternity and whatever the new project is
-
And they cancelled Aliens:Crucible over that load of ****. Well played Sega, well played. The world definately needs more generic, boring and bad shooters. Kinda knew something fishy was going on when I found about SEGA not allowing magazines to release reviews before the actual release date, not even if the magazine was coming out 1 or 2 days prior to the release date.

Can't remember the 1st one I played, but the 1st one I finished was either Baldur's Gate or Fallout.

Obsidian currently working on next-gen console title
Flouride replied to funcroc's topic in Obsidian General
Aye, I would imagine the project is still in pre-production with the majority of staff still being on South Park. -
An Awesome Surprise
Flouride replied to Darren Monahan's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
I bet that's funcroc's new way of spying stuff. That thing is probably filled with spy cams and microphones -
During Kickstarter someone (Feargus maybe?) confirmed that Red Eagle has not secured funding for the project. And I doubt they never will.

Sozzy looks awesome. Best contribution to these forums from Volourn EVER and anyone who says otherwise is A LIAR. And that's a FACT. R000fles!!1111

If Fallout 4 is made by Bethesda I will have little to none interest in it. Their games just don't work for me and I don't think hiring Ferret will make much difference to the way they make games at Bethesda.
-
Clearly you are only saying that because you BETRAYED us all. We need funcroc to start blackmailing people to stay at Obsidian instead of just gathering information. Seriously though, this thread kinda took a funny turn back there...

I'm a bit skeptical. First of all, we haven't even seen Wasteland 2 yet. How many people are willing to feed more money to Fargo when we have no idea what they've been able to make with the few million dollars we just gave him. Especially since I haven't played a single InXile game, it's kinda hard to talk myself into giving them more. With Obsidian it would be a different thing, since I kinda know what to expect. 2nd, how good is Colin McComb? I'm not really familiar what he did over at Black Isle and what he has been up to ever since. Is he up to the task? Mentioning Kevin Saunders did make me feel a bit more comfortable. So yes, I'm a bit skeptical, but highly intrigued at the same time.

Just who I wanted back, the most annoying guy in the game. Please Bethesda, also bring back Harold the tree, non-talkative super mutants (other than the 1 that will immediately join you) and 2 man villages that somehow just get by. Now listening to NoFX - The Decline

Kinda meh year when it comes to bigger titles. Only intrested in Battlefield 4, South Park and Simcity (if not ruined by EA), Other than that it's mostly indie stuff / smaller games I'm waiting for, some of them should turn out okay
-
My list in no particular order: Legend of Grimrock - old school, baby and by Finns FTL - Didn't back this up on KS, but bought it pretty much immediately from STEAM. Another great indie game Giana Sisters - Still playing it, for 10 dollars pretty decent fun. Crusader Kings 2 - One of the few games I've actually pre-ordered this year. As always (with Paradox games) at some point I get bored / move on to other games. Should get back to my Finnish/Swedish kingdom someday. Max Payne 3 - bought this at a serious discount from STEAM. While it doesn't have the same feel Remedy's games had, it still a decent shooter. Still got some games I want from the 2012 stock, but haven't bought them yet, so the list is missing some pretty good games I imagine

Sometimes I wonder why anyone even bothers coming up with cool game ideas. It's only going to get scrapped when the management that green lit it, gets fired/moves on to other things. Makes me wonder are the marketing costs that ridicilous that it's just better to scrap a game that you have used millions of dollars on already than to finish it (if it's somewhere around halfway done) and pay for some marketing.

Chivalry and Giana Sisters

Can't some legit company hire Chris Taylor? It saddens me to see him working for Herve.

Kotaku Obsidian Article
Flouride replied to C2B's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
While that is intresting, I just don't see Red Eagle Games pulling it through. -
http://kotaku.com/5968952/the-knights-of-new-vegas-how-obsidian-survived-countless-catastrophes-and-made-some-of-the-coolest-role+playing-games-ever Great article about Obsidian.

If they can create something like Warhammer Dark Omen, I'll be happy.

Max Payne 3 and Chivalry. Chivalry especially is very fun

What are you playing now - the plays the thing

Finally finished Trine 2, next up either Max Payne 3 or the DLC for Trine 2 -
I personally hated the world in F3 with the 2 person towns somehow surviving in the middle of Super Mutants. All those almost intact landmarks that somehow survived a nuclear holocaust and being abandoned for years. Only food available was either 200 years old or meat from creatures etc. etc. That makes the world just seem like it couldn't even exist and takes away any "immersion" I would have in the world. And Bethesda pretty much made Fallout to be about finding cool real world locales in horrible shape. Compare that to the actually beliavable world building Obsidian did. Food sources, caravan routes, towns that could actually function and not get overrun by a single Super Mutant you accidentally pull into the town...

Don't get me started Funny that turned out to be one of the best quests in the game though. Too bad the idea of androids in the game had me skipping that questline completely.
