My work e-mail is being spoofed. YAAAAAAY Came into work to see 20+ "undeliverables" I've never sent and growing. Double checked with the ISP, the e-mails are not coming through their servers, so at least I'm not infected. Edit: Now this is interesting, it seems as if the e-mails were all sent around 8:11 AM this morning. That's what the bounce backs all tell me. None since then, just some are slower to send something back. I guess whoever was infected took it offline.

Just finished it. Now that's how you do an ending. I was holding back tears right up until I couldn't anymore. And it wasn't even sad. I don't want to spoil what I got, but why is this so hard for most developers? Make it about the characters and where they've grown into!

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VII (J.J. Strikes Back)
Tale replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
I look at that and just get pissed off we didn't get KOTOR 3... Avellone as lead of KOTOR3 after leaving Obsidan? They're resurrecting Battlefront so I don't see why they wouldn't bring back another wildly popular franchise. Because KOTOR is Legend material and no new material for that old continuity is going to be produced. Expansions for TOR seem to be the only exception. Battlefront doesn't have the same issue. -
Those quests can reactivate later, FYI. I actually did one of them twice! Once before she left and again later. Fun thing about quest items, after they move from quest to junk, if you sell them to anyone, the original vendor will sell them as a quest item all over again. And by "fun," I mean "this sucks." Because most items this happens with will just get stuck in your quest inventory forever. Witcher gear maps in particular. The statues seem to be an exception in restarting the quest.

Yeah. I wasn't impressed by the videos. The Hoth map looked very linear. The other vid was a bleeding horde mode.

I think I'm nearing the final stretch of Witcher 3. Got Arkham Knight to play starting tomorrow, so hope I get there.

Shadows of Mordor was made by Monolith (of No One Lives Forever and FEAR fame), who are currently owned by Warner Bros. I'm skeptical that they would go to a publisher owned studio.

What do you mean, now?

My memory is really fuzzy. I remember the Carnotosaurus and its camouflage, but I keep thinking that's the Spinosaurus from the third movie.

I hate that it's Medium, because the skill for Medium gives bonuses to signs. But it looks sweeeeet. I might just drop my Cat Gear skill and use it.

I'm now onboard the hype train for No Man's Sky. Haven't really paid it any attention until now because I kind of assumed it was a PC exclusive. But it's coming first to PS4, which works for my situation.

The Lost World novel actually has Grant explain it. He was wrong about it entirely, the T-Rex had just eaten and was no longer hungry. Which is why Jurassic Park III annoys me so much when Grant tries that trick again. YOU FIGURED THIS OUT IN THE NOVELS, YOU FOOL

Why did Obsidian despise light-side Revan?
Tale replied to Harrold Andraste's topic in Computer and Console
Yes. I think people are reading too much into Obsidian's interpretation of the consequences of a Jedi Civil War. How many force users did we kill throughout KOTOR 1? Lightside or darkside ending, there's not going to be many left after all that. I'm still amazed that they bothered to show the consequences of a war like that. -
FF VII remake, no game footage, just a "promise." It's going to show up at next year's E3 with a new trailer, then we stop hearing about it for 5 more years beyond "we're still working on it." The Last Guardian trailer, while I'm excited they're showing it, actually looks very reminiscent of an old gameplay trailer I saw years ago. Has much change or was all this delay the platform shift?
-
South Park RPG announced. I can find no reference to Obsidian being involved though. Maybe the actual announcement said who the developer was, but the website and trailer don't.

Three Body Problem I'm reading it for Hugo voting and it's fantastic. So far it's my shoe-in for best novel.

any more details on that? I was thinking about some experiment with gates going wrong and sending an exploration vessel into another galaxy.... so what is the premise? anyone? http://blog.bioware.com/2015/06/15/introducing-mass-effect-andromeda/ No real details beyond the fact that the player will be exploring Andromeda. I'm hoping for the "lost in another galaxy" angle (per my Farscape obsession), but it could easily be more of a New World type where everyone's setting up claims.

So, Bioware Montreal did the thing I said they should do. A new galaxy. I guess I have to give them some benefit of the doubt. I'm obligated by the rules of the internet. Phantom Pain, I had to turn the fan up, it was giving me the vapors.

I know the feeling about loving Jurassic Park. I would watch the VHS every day when I got home from middle school for like a year.

My little dog got out yesterday. :/ I let her out with the golden retriever like I always do when I come home. And then I let them in to eat, only she didn't come back in. She'd kind of done this before and never went far, so I just knew she'd be out front and run right in when I opened the door. I knew wrong. She wasn't out front. This is when panic starts to set in. I rush back out to the back yelling her name. And that's when I hear a little yip of pain from behind the house. I climb up the fence and look around, but I see nothing. I rush back to the front, get in my car, and start driving to the street behind the house. But at the end of my street I see a little dark object in the road. I'm thinking "no, it's can't be. It can not be." It wasn't, just some stupid shoes in the middle of the freaking road. I don't find her behind the house, I don't find her on the street in front of the house, I don't find her on the next street, or the next. I go back home and grab the Golden Retriever, maybe he can sniff her out, and we start walking. He takes me to the left, he's not pulling or moving fast, he's checking every single yard out. But before we get halfway down the street, a little girl asks if I'm looking for a little dog. Stupid Bailey had gone into someone else's backyard through a hole in their fence. I can only imagine she was chasing a cat.

Jurassic World In all my life, I might have only once before called a movie "dumb fun." I'm still not even sure how "dumb fun" works, but this movie is pretty dumb and it's pretty fun. The climax of the film had me both laughing at how stupid what I was seeing was, as well as thrilled by it. Like one of those parodies of 80s action flicks, only played straight.

I had to look that up. Wormholes, zero-point energy and even negative energy I had heard about. Is over-unity a thing? Overunity is just a term for a device that generates more energy than it consumes to run. You may know them as perpetual motion machines. Many such devices are just thought experiments by people who don't understand the forces involved, those are the ones I love. Many others are scams with hidden batteries. And then yet others are simply a very efficient device that can run off an initial impulse for a time before slowing down, ultimately followed by promises that they know what to do to make it even better and run eternally. Suppression of such devices is a popular conspiracy theory.
-
There needs to be more free energy advocates running around. One of my favorite pasttimes is looking at overunity devices and trying to figure out what their lowest energy state is. Bonus points when they introduce "wormholes" and "zero-point energy."

He didn't die, he was just re-activated by MI6 to save the world.

Good luck to him. Sounds like he's wanting to do some new stuff. I wonder if he'll go try going indie for a while.
