I'm simply saying that, when it makes good business sense, they have no problem releasing free content. As an aside, how is the DLC that CDPR is releasing any different than the multiplayer that EA is releasing? They are both free, they both require infrastructure to maintain. I believe you can still make purchases for the DA multiplayer though, which would seem to be a wiser business decision, but I am sure some will see as avarice. I don't have to play an in-game lottery with microtransaction options to access CDPR's content. Wouldn't that suck! Spend 3,000 gold for a chance to unlock Ciri's new outfit. But don't worry if you run out of coin trying to get it, you can buy new chances for $1.50. That's aside from how cynical their inclusion of multiplayer in DAI was overall.

I'll probably enjoy Deadpool, but I thought they went a little overboard. The leaked script was pretty dang good, so I can maintain restrained optimism.

That's pretty impressive. I wonder if this game will completely bridge the gap to the point of explaining why we end up with Minsc, Jaheira, Khalid, and Dynaheir.

I'll be in my bunk.

He is an important figure in internet history.

Did they specify the expansions would be before the end?

I was about to play devil's advocate and ask "can we be sure it's Shani?" But I double checked her Witcher 1 appearance the only notable difference is her hair parted on the other side. Which can only mean it's Shani's evil twin.

Finished Arkham Origins. It was actually pretty decent. But I've started Asylum back up and remember why it was so incredible. The atmosphere is great. From the walk with Joker at the beginning to seeing how things get incrementally worse as the game goes on. Like the guards you see on the grounds or by the ambulance at first, then when you come back, the ambulance is moved and the guards are hanging from the ceiling. And as you finish each part of the game, more and more thugs fill the grounds. Knight has a few good touches, though, I'll give it that. After a certain event the streets are littered with bodies and there's fewer thugs. The few remaining comment on it. And the whole atmosphere changes with little graphical effects.

I can't save any game
Tale replied to Slaydo's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
People have asked you questions in your original thread, try to see if that can lead to find a solution. No need to duplicate. -
Is it better, worse, or on par with Arkham City? I don't remember Arkham City well. I'm trying to replay the entire series, so I might be able to answer later. My initial impressions is that it feels cheap. Part of that is because it looks like butt (they probably all do compared to Knight) and because I hate this VA for Batman.

Liked Arkham Knight enough that I grabbed Arkham Origins for the complete set. I definitely don't remember the last gen games looking this bad, but that's kind of how the memory goes, isn't it?

It'll be an innkeep, not a merchant. You probably need to buy some cards, not win them. There's more merchants/innkeeps to play than there are cards to win from them. So you shouldn't have to scour to find an unplayed merchant. If they still reward you with nothing, you're short purchased cards (or ones from sidequests).

Rise of Tomb Raider: To Be Released on the Same Day as Fallout 4
Tale replied to ktchong's topic in Computer and Console
Number one reason I haven't even played the previous. Okay, number two reason. Number one reason is I don't have a PC that can run it even though I bought it on sale a few years ago. -
Dragon Age: Inquisition vs The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Tale replied to ktchong's topic in Computer and Console
The Witcher 3 was a fantastic game with more consistency and had a truly great ending. Dragon Age Inquisition was a pretty good game that felt like two games, one open world, one level based, with a badly rushed ending. I still want to know why DAI went with that structure. Nobody does open world games where the main path missions are completely cut off. Did they split duties between studios? Was it the result of a revision in design? Did the story designers not feel comfortable working in the open areas? I swear, games need commentary tracks. -
I finished Batman: Arkham Knight. I fully expected to hate the "twist" and the ending. But they're not so bad. The twist is only annoying in a "they said it wasn't this" kind of way. The ending is actually pretty darn good, not fantastic, but good. The 100% ending is comic book dumb, you get used to it. And it would work as a setup for Batman Beyond and that's always good.

Supreme Court: Same-sex couples can marry in all 50 states
Tale replied to Gfted1's topic in Way Off-Topic
It seems they don't feel that the equal protection clause requires a protected class to be valid. And it is seems the opinion of the majority that marriage, same-sex or otherwise, falls somewhere under "the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States," "liberty," or "the equal protection of the laws." If you have to be a protected class to avoid discrimination in marriage, that would be even sillier than the idea that stupid people could be protected against discrimination in applying for jobs. -
Supreme Court: Same-sex couples can marry in all 50 states
Tale replied to Gfted1's topic in Way Off-Topic
My understanding is this. 5 Supreme Court judges ruled that prohibiting same-sex marriage denies people equal protection of a fundamental civil right, so is therefore in violation of the 14th amendment. That sounds sensible to me. Why should I then take the word of 4 other Supreme Court judges that try and claim that marriage is only an issue of states? When the Supreme Court has already, in the past, sided that issues of marriage are subject to equal protection? How is this so vastly different from Loving v. Virginia? -
Tell me that to my face!

It's a question, but I don't know if it's a truly more important one. No game should survive off the back of dissatisfied customers, regardless of how crucial that practice might have been to the creators. If someone's truly in that situation, well, it's time to start being up front with people. Lots of communication. It won't solve the problem, but people who go in knowing that they're getting something unpolished and have a promise of support will probably be more willing to stick with it than people who feel deceived and only hear about it from the developers after the voices get raised.

I think there's a coin rollover glitch in the game. I had 65k when I looked at one point, then I looked later and had a measly 4k. No explanation for the loss, I guess I just hit a cap and started back at 0. Edit: Looking it up 65k is the trigger. You lose the excess when you load up a save or travel.

Health recovery when using stamina? That's a good one. You can heal by just jumping or casting spells too. I also like the one that improves your total vitality with each kill when just running around. The one that improves defense each time you get hit failed to impress me, though.

And with an easy dip into alchemy you can have two decoctions at once. I had 241 toxicity cap.
-
Strong attack is overpowered with the one decoction. 10% off the HP of any opponent you fight.

One question: Will this one feature a hundred sacks of bloody limbs in every dungeon heavily implying that 90% of the remaining population are murderous cannibals? This is a serious question, actually. It set a really unsettling tone for Fallout 3. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to be in a tongue-in-cheek post apocalypse or a full blown horror game.

Batman: Arkham Knight Sadly, this game isn't going to be able to follow up on my high from The Witcher 3, but few could that aren't from Telltale.
