  1. Unfinished Business is quests restored from cut content. NPC Project is new banters and companion quests to try and be more like BG2 in terms of content. Ok, thanks. I will look it up for my next playthrough... which will be some time in the future. x) But SCS looks exactly down my alley.
  2. What would be the difference?
  3. Would that be the first BG? Are you going to roll with SCS?
  4. The biggest stat fest in all the Infinities. In a way it moves closer to Path of Exile than the first Pillars. There is this MMOish tint that tells you that you can grind 15 % faster if you do x,y,z. You can still have fun. Some choice and consequence. Some RP. Some notable combat. Some good characters. But for every well done idea, there's generally something else that doesn't quite sit too well in the game.
  5. Well... yes. Out of all the Infinities, Deadfire is the biggest stat fest. I am not too keen on that, either. Apparently people were complaining a lot during the first one that mages were too strong. So they decided to make everything more bullet spongy. Basically, if you want to make your nukes good(you can), you have to do more busy work ahead of time. Martial classes are more immediate and less micro intensive. Doesn't mean you can't nuke well. I soloed most of the game with Wizard multiclassed, and a lot of what I was doing was that--nuking. There are a few modals in the game, namely Club, Morning Star and Flail that will help you a ton, should you want to take that route. Your Eldritch Aim will give you a 50 % graze to hit. A Club modal strike will do -25 Will, which will make Miasma hit/graze more often. After Miasma lands it's much easier to follow up on other debuffing effects to further reduce deffences. In the mean time you can still use Morning Star and Flail Modal and you can stack so much debuffs that they go from 100+ to bellow 50. After that it's crits only. Or not bother at all.
  6. Heavy Crossbow modal is very good in party. Since you're considering Arcana you can make use of... what was it called... Spearcaster? That one sold in Periki's Overlook. Two party memebers with that modal can keep bosses on their back all the time.
  7. Just naming a few things you could use to improve nuking: Ring of Focused Flames, Devotion of the Faithful, Champions Boon, Crusted Swordfish, stacking Perception gear, Sun and Moon, Magran's Favour, Deltro's Cage, Potion of Ascention, Captain's Cabin in Dunnage, his Eldritch Aim. Using reflex debuffing gizmos will help a ton, btw. You can consider Clear Out from Fighter. You can use Shadowflame or Freezing Pillar early in the fight--that will also reduce Reflex.
  8. Borrowed Insticts comes first. Whatever else comes after that. Consider some sort of Will debuffing effect, either a Club modal or something else.
  9. BTW, just want to add: If somebody wants to run DoS2 in multi, I am up for duo Lone Wolves on For Honour.
  10. A minor suggestion: Use Minor Blights Scrolls--those really build Focus quick.
  11. I'm rusty... this is first try, but I forgot the drink Potion of Ascention and Perfect Aim. DON'T do it like me xD. You might want to wait a bit to get a better quality. It does happen with newly uploaded vids.
  12. There's really isn't that strong of a leadership on top of Obs, despite the talent in the studio... they will get that opportunity and not thing a second about it.
  13. I never really had a problem with that fight. I do have an older safe with a somewhat unoptimized build there. If you want I can post a vid.
  14. The problem with the Vaporous Wizardry is that your base selection on the wizard side is not that good. It's good news that you don't get interrupted, but without Slickens every boss fight will be a problem... well, Slicken will work just about everywhere, to be honest. I think ultimately you're taking a lot of what I say here to be written in stone... and that might not be your style after all. I think you still want to play this is a melee fighter type a thing, but making lots of auto-attacks just isn't this combination's forte, I think. Sure, you can boost defenses, but I am still suspicious of it. it's a more touchy territory, because it comes down to how people want to play their characters. The way I play my Wizards is that I never really stay in one place for long. I see you're trying this with Blackened Plate... and I'd never wear that armour specifically against Ukaizo, I do hit and runs and avoid some of the damage. Having a lot of Slickens will help a lot with that as you will be able to close in, make a full attack debuffing Reflex, then go out, cast something, then go in, make a full attack, ect. Having an extra cast of Freezing Pillars will help a lot. Then you fill gaps with Meteor Showers and you will be able to do a lot of damage. I also think you might be full buffing at the beginning of the fight and that might not be the best way to do it against boss encounters. Specifically against Ukaizo the fight is so long that I never really use something else than Infuse and then maybe one of the Llengrath's as the need arises. If you had more success with some of your previous builds, you can always revert back to that. Other than that, I think you should focus a bit more on the Wizard side, having extra spells for damage on each level and then just using Full Attacks to do some extra and debuff Reflex on the toughest of Mobs. Absolutely do not replace Infuse with Vital Essence. It's one of your best spells.
  15. The same gizmos apply with Fire Naga. They have got very low Fire Armour and Maelstrom chooses to prioritize Fire Damage with them, only to heal them an insane amount. It seems that in the case of Fire Immunity Maelstrom only does Fire damage. For her, just buff yourself with a good lash and spam Embrace of the Earth Talon and Minoletta's Concusive. She does go down quick. You can also do some basic attacks which will do a lot of damage, as well. Her deflection is like 80 or so, if memory serves.
  16. Both DoS and DoS2 are much more fun with other people around, preferably running unoptimized toons.
  17. I don't claim to be an expert... but how did you decide that you first eat the soul, then the flesh? x)
  18. ^ Well... I'm guessing a Cypher with his soul shreds would make that... a bit easier.
  19. Some say: At least it's not EA. Take comfort in every small thing you can.
