Yeah, feels like he is more optimized for a chanter. However, I’m sure with gear and then being really particular on what food you feed him you could get him to be a decent Druid.Pretty sure you can make anyone fit the role you want, it's just disappointing that it looks like they give companion odd attributes on purpose just to makes things harder (but at least on poe they realized some of the attributes were nonsense and they changed them) That’s not true on why they assign attributes. Viable characters to help the player is a part of their aim, but they largely assign attributes based on the personality and backstory of the character. They’ve said this awhile back, can’t remember where. Completely agree with this approach to stat allocation, I was just looking for some minor changes. Maybe one point each from int, res and dex moved to might. That way you still have a character with high int and good resolve so character concept stays the same, but now 15 might is something to work with atleast

Tekehu's stats seem to be pretty terrible for a druid. Prob the class with the best damage spells and he's got might 12, dex 11 and per 10.

Same as PoE 1, pure fighter god mode tank with a greatsword. Will probably get the shield out for dragon fights though. I'm more worried about Pallegina... want to go pure paladin but don't know if I can get decent damage out of her if she has the same stats from the first game. Any suggestions? Maybe try and pump accuracy and go with single weapon crit build?

So how do wizards work in the latest beta? Since you can now choose 3 spells per level, does that mean grimoires only have 1 fixed spell per level?

Does Obsidian plan to address the underpowering of mage weapons such as Concelhaut's Parasitic Staff, etc?

The strongest beta build
A few questions for anyone who tested out the Fury subclass for Druid... How good is the storm blight compared to the other spirit shift options(def, armor,health, damage etc.)? Does it scale with level? Also is it only ranged attacks? Thanks in advance.

Liking a lot of what I've seen so far... I do think ship combat mechanics need to be a bit clearer and better explained though. Also, a minor complaint, but I would like to have the option of no voice set at character creation.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean... could you elaborate please? I'm saying the base damage will scale with power level. So, for example, what is the difference between the damage of a fireball at level 5(power level 3) and level 7(power level 4) on a single class wizard with 10 might?

There have been a lot of complaints about the damage of spells in the beta, especially with the longer cast times. I wonder how much of that is because they have to account for scaling with power level. Maybe dragon thrashed and other spells will actually be pretty powerful on a 20th level single class.

Well the obvious solution is to come up with new, useful abilities at higher levels that would be specific to the priest deity. It would be more work, but would result in a far more interesting class. Just taking iconic abilities from other classes seems too easy to me... "Hey we were looking to spice up the monk subclasses, so we're planning on giving one of them access to Heart of Fury". What?

Erm, like, for example, via magic items say ? *cough* *cough* Haha exactly... that ability alone made that armour probably the best in the game. However to have it be part of another classes ability tree would cheapen it imo

Really dislike Priest of Wael getting access to a spell like Gaze of the Adragan. That's as close as it gets to a trademark wizard ability. It would be like other classes having access to Sacred Immolation or Triggered Immunity.

I know it was announced, but I'm not sure how Serafen could be a single class barbarian when being a cipher was integral to his backstory. Pet Peeves Thread
Just remembered another pet peeve from an earlier post... Never liked the look of lashes on firearms in PoE 1. I think it would look much cooler if the guns looked normal, but when the bullet hits the enemy it created a small elemental explosion depending on lash type.

No I read about that change, but I'm not sure if it applies to all companions. I think like with Pallegina, for example, I doubt the devs would let us choose any single class other than Paladin because it's too integral to her character concept. So I think it will either be Paladin/something or just pure Paladin. Same with Maia and Aloth for Ranger and Wizard respectively. So was just saying hope she gets a rogue multiclass going with that assumption.

As the title suggests I thought we could use a thread for minor complaints or suggestions. Maybe small stuff that annoys us but which are really not a big deal in the larger scheme of things. I'd like an option to choose no voice set in character creation like the first game. Also less smoke and less linger time of the smoke when using firearms.( This is from a vid released a few months ago, not sure if improved in beta) Finally I'd like the option of multiclassing Pallegina into a rogue to give some damage options. I think most of the companions multiclass options have been announced but not Pallegina or Maia. Thoughts? EDIT- Come to think of it, last one might belong in General Discussion. Apologies.

Hmm and here I was thinking Gromnir went out of his way multiple times to point out that there were a couple of classes that could use some help. He specifically mentioned priests. Several times. Of all the debating tactics, flat out lies will always be my favourite haha

Well actually you can, just use two weapons and pump dex. Of course you won't have access to the two-weapon fighting talent so you'll be attacking a little slower, but the game is not balanced around you having that talent so in the end it makes no difference. Your effectiveness will be the same.

They will get them, and some other abilities, as passive boosts from different grimoires. Also as someone has already pointed out, there will be a number of unique class abilities available to all single class players from items in the game. We've already seen a few in the beta(Leap, Graze on hit etc.).
