  1. Or those for whom having companions to take along with you on your adventures is a huge part of their enjoyment of the game and now they have one less of those companions to take along. Enough with the straw man of people being unhappy over things being different. Well is 7 party members better than 6? Where does it end?
  2. Well least they're being upfront as they can about it. Remember before Numenera came out? Wasn't there tons of broken promises they wouldn't speak about?
  3. Like the others have said, at first there was outrage just because WE DON'T LIKE THINGS THAT'RE DIFFERENT! Then when it was explained and tested for ourselves we realised oh yeah it actually makes sense and is a better design decision. Except for the few who are still outraged because WE DON'T LIKE THINGS THAT'RE DIFFERENT!
  4. Ach dammit! Why that second part? I already typed half of my reply in my head! :hairpull: Lol, he is right, no gamer (well normal ones) plays only one genre. That said, everyone does have a favorite genre. And if your favorite genre is traditional party based single player RPG's you really don't have much happening in the month of May outside Deadfire. Well there is Hyper Dimension Neptunia, but do I really need to explain how Deadfire and it are aimed at two wildly different groups of people? This is not true. I only play RPGs. Literally, no other genre interests me. I'm playing Battletech right now... which is basically an RPGlite with mechs instead of swords and magic. I guess we're going off topic now, but the OP has been answered... How is Battletech? I've seen some real iffy reviews.
  5. Turns out I won't be playing until at least the 25th now! You guys enjoy it in my stead.
  6. I hope it's pretty good, but come on it's a piece of entertainment at the end of the day. People make out as if it's some life changing event when a certain game or movie comes out. Don't take these things so seriously folks!
  7. I have to say I watched that update and the talking sword bit really irritated me. Some annoying american accent... bloody hell!
  8. Ha! I haven't seen w00t for years... reminds me of being a youth.
  9. Have any of you booked the day off work to play it? I actually used to book the day off for WoW expansions back in the day haha. Then do an all nighter.... yeesh the good old days eh. My girlfriend would kick my arse if I did that now.
  10. Not me... skint until the 25th. If you're not, reckon you'll avoid these forums until you get the game?
  11. WHY HAVE YOU CHANGED YOUR AVATAR!? I can't get used to this.
  12. I'm pretty sure nobody was looking forward to sidekicks anyway so it seems strange you're so angry about that. It was a universally panned idea.
  13. Why is everyone getting super defensive about Obsidian now? The guy asked a perfectly legit question. It was like this in the other topic, 'Obsidian can take their time, they can do whatever they want! Why do you care?!' GEEEEEEEEEEEZ
  14. Ahahahahahahaha! Now nobody will be able to talk to their beloved Ydwin!
  15. Tim Time's have changed mush. You have to move on.
  16. 5 seems a really good party size. Probably because i'm used to playing WoW... 6 is good because of the classics AND Suikoden. 4 in FF9/Dragon Age's 3 in FF7/8/10 I think 4-5 is a good spot. Uh what was the topic creator asking again?
  17. Well yeah, it's pretty bad a lot of it but I don't really mind it. So if it's at least better than that it will be good... right? I don't get this whole argument of 'It means there are less options!' I think that only applies if the main character is voiced.
  18. As long as the voice acting is terrible I don't really mind. Oblivion is fully voiced right? A lot of that is like.. 5 different voices? I really don't mind, it's kind of amusing at times. Guess it depends on the tone they are after.
  19. I'm not too excited about the whole ships and ship combat lark, I mean i'm glad it's there just for variety but I really want a story that is much more intense than the first game, some good drama parts like with Yoshimo in BG2. I want to see some really hard fights as well. Even in Veteran/Hard or whatever it is called, I want some difficult fights. I remember the early days of BG1 the fights with... Mulahey and Davaeorn were really tough, I want some bosses like that. 'Normal' guys but really tough. I know it's probably because i just sucked at the game they were hard because now i understand it they are a joke, but i want that feeling again. Going into the unknown and getting my arse handed to me. On a side note, one of the funniest lines in the game is Davaeorns apprentice when he says something like 'Yes sir, that's right i'm reasonably sure i'm not going to be getting involved in anything like this again!'. Have we got to a point now where we're not allowed to say we want something like BG1/2 because people get too annoyed?
  20. I pretty much always only go a Fighter/Warrior class single only in any of these type games for the first play with a similar character i make up.
