  1. So... let me see if I have this straight. The GOVERNMENT caused this problem because people with money used that money to buy favorable policies. So the solution is to get that exact same GOVERNMENT to fix those policies to help the workers. That begs the question.... do the workers have any money to buy that kind of help? It sounds like the answer is no. So.... good luck with that. Everyone sneers are how the, the, rich (say it in a tone of disgust) use their money to corrupt the government. Sounds to me like you should be mad at the government not the rich. Who sold favors to who? And before anyone comes back with "we need to elect people who won't take their money" yeah. Like I said, good luck. People by favors from government because governments sell favors. Yet no one wants to pull their fangs out. Something I will never understand. OK, you can all go back to bashing rich capitalists now. Or whatever it was you were doing. Edit: One last thought. If you don;t like the pay you don't have to take the job. If there were fewer teachers teachers would be paid more. Just sayin' Isn’t there already a bit of a teacher shortage? I’ve never heard of anybody complaining of too many teachers in the workforce.
  2. I wouldn't say it is misplaced. I mean, it is excellent that Canada has that kind of earnings mobility. I would love to see the US make improvements there. But US companies still dominate the global economy. The tech industry was basically born from that 'misplaced' attitude and it still continues to be driven by US entrepreneurs. The world is saturated in products that were born in the US. Coca-Cola, McDonalds, Apple...they were created by self-made men. Why is that? Why doesn't Canada have more of those stories? That’s certainly an excellent question. I suppose part of it comes down to business and corporate policies and just sheer American influence that allowed the, to spread worldwide. Also, of those three examples, Cocoa-Cola and McDonalds are the elders, with Cocoa-Cola being almost twice as old as McDonalds. However, longevity can’t explain it either as there are plenty of more recent examples and Canada has its share of companies that have been around for hundreds of years, ditto for Europe.
  3. ‘Fat white man from the whiskey belt’ sounds like it could double as a reference to America, heh. And I guess the mis-grammar of ‘Based Danish’ instead of ‘Danish Based’ is intentional as a few other vids shown as links after it’s over, show the same thing?
  4. That’d also make for a great pun.
  5. I think that was just Volourns sarcasm detector failing rather than being offended by the joke.
  6. You have to go through the storm cloud to get to it. It’s a bit obscured by the storm cloud, but if you maneuver around, you’ll see it. Edit; got ninjad somewhat. I didn’t see two landing spots though.
  7. IIRC, Sanders described himself as a "socialist", which wasn't really even correct, so that didn't help matters much. Then you throw in our scorched earth and Byzantine state of affairs in politics, and it's not exactly a surprise that the label so quickly got out of hand. To be fair, the word ‘socialist’ has just about lost all meaning in the US. Republicans have called Obama socialist when obviously he’s not. Now it’s just a trigger word and shorthand for ‘thing I don’t like or thing that I disagree with. And it triggers my consistuents.’
  8. I figured the whole ‘Bernie Sanders is a Communist!’ thing was due to remnants of anti-communist fervor from the Cold War and the word ‘socialist’ still being a trigger word for a significant slice of the voting public. And yeah, Bernie Sanders would be considered roughly centrist in Europe. Also, the two points isn’t believed by every single person in the US (not sure if you’re from the US or not Drowsy Emperor), but they are the predominant beliefs for Republicans.
  9. Your sarcasm detector failed. While he wasn’t being sarcastic on blacks, the rest of the sentence and what he said afterwards makes it pretty clear that he wasn’t being serious.
  10. To nobody’s surprise, no Democrats are invited to meeting on Russia docs. I hope they realize the optics of it, whether or not any Democrats requested seeing it, as Sarah Sanders claims the Democrats didn’t. Though maybe Schiff will get a copy, as the article mentions, dunno.
  11. Usually used in the sarcastic sense or in the sense of ‘stop being a snowflake’.
  12. Apple is probably still reviewing the patch before putting it on their App Store. This can take a few days. Why is this a thing people tolerate? Obviously they have to check for viruses, not sure what you’re complaining about. You’d think they would whitelist trusted vendors though.
  13. That’s a pretty bad joke there, bad as in corny as I get it’s trying to make a wordplay joke.
  14. Maybe because there isn’t any more of that kind of political wrangling anymore? There are still some royals around, true, but none of them (the European ones anyway) are the same monarchies as they were in the 19th century and alliances aren’t made by marriage anymore. Harry is like sixth in line for the throne anyway, and I didn’t take you for the monarchist type.
  15. Peaceful resolution should be either 12111 or 13111, or both.
  16. Haha. didn't he and Bernie Sanders criticize the hell out of Hillary Clinton for how the Obama administration handled Libya?! That was primarily over Benghazi I think, along with how Libya was generally handled. I dont remember them saying anything in relation to the nuke deal Libya did. On the school shooting, the guy also made some explosives (none actually exploded).
  17. Screenshots would be good, also, the third one you mention is pretty insignificant of a bug since you can move the camera around and there’s inevitably going to be someone complaining about it covering the portraits (which are way more important to have visible).
  18. It starts at 4 am pacific coast time (west coast US), but I don’t really care about it all that much.
  19. Wasn’t plague of insects also really nasty in PoE1? Or maybe that was the infestation of maggots, both are pretty nasty. I ran into #2 while fighting the attack on the town (forget the name) that was getting attacked by the seasonal bog druids you mentioned.
  20. And a thread OP that seems like it’s not even deserving of a dev reply due to the attitude.
  21. Yeah! Like putting flame decals on it and a skull+crossbones on it! ; ) What? Just rolling with the joke.
  22. I don’t have my computer right now, but maybe that’s related to difficulty options?
  23. Looks like Caleb is going through the threads by post time, so, it’ll be a while.
  24. Doubted it was real either as there’s no way it would keep rolling that long.
