Rauatai storms

Who know. Deadfire lore works in mysterious way. Probably something to with adra though. -
Peak is almost always always on release for something like this, short of exceptional circumstances. An exceptional circumstance could be that it is an Obsidian game. From all the Obsidian fans I know, I was the only one who jumped unto it. Most of them are waiting for patch or two. I waited for a bit with PoE1 as well.

There is this problem with developing romance, before developing a character. As most romancable characters are new, and romance is the new companion content it all ends up being rather weak. It’s as if Eder would try to romance you after leaving Gilded Vale, instead of learning about his history, past and brother.

No, nothing what was said by Obsidian suggested that there is anything else planned other than 3x$10 expansions. But.... Gog release announcement said: First three? Surely that means there is more to come. On a more reasonable note: I doubt gog would know anything at that point, anyway. I would really really like if those 3 expansions would be a build up to a large, after main campaign content, but I would be really really surprised if that was the case.

So... attractivenes stat? Defines physical, social and sexual attractiveness of your character, increasing positive reaction from NPCs, granting discount at shops and taverns, and increasing chance to get harassed/catcalled by a random NPCs. With high attractiveness all romances trigger as soon as you recruit a companion.

From all the characters Pallegina is the only one I could imagine my Watcher falling for. But I imagine it is precisely because she is not a romance type person. I might get conspiracy theory’sh here, but isn’t it curious that two companions who aren’t romancable are Pallegina (written by game director) and Eder (written by PoE1 narrative director). Just as if romances shouldn’t be part of the game? [if it wasn’t clear enough: I really dislike romances in Deadfire, and I am desperately looking for a justification to my feelings]

Sure, if you don’t want to manage your characer, more spells are not appealing. Still, for those who were fine with 4spells per level in PoE1 it’s no problem - pick spells on level up and a random grimoire and you have more spells than in PoE1. I for one prefer how they are done now - I have “core” spells which do what I want my wizard to do, and Grimoires to add extra stuff.

Considering how games is made, suddenly having bunch of unvoiced lines would stick out. Design was made, and I am afraid it can’t be undone just like that. Companions have quite a lot of content, just little meaningful one. I was surprised to find on YouTube how elaborate companion conflicts can be, alas high diplomacy skill and they are over really quickly, never to be heard of again. I don’t think adding more would fix an issue I have with companions, though I wish I could talk to them more at times.

That’s assuming that two or three spells you picked will be ones best suited to every situation. Aloth ended up switching between 3 Grimoires depending who he was facing. Couple features that would be greatly welcome: 1) renaming Grimoires - just allow me to rename it. I don’t always remember which one had which spells. 2) better feedback - when looking through a grimoire grey out spells I memorised, to easier judge how much it adds within a glance.

And it was like that in IE games, the problem is that didn’t work. That’s why resting supplies were introduced. When you rest and get ambushed you either: 1) can handle the encounter and it’s annoying 2) you can’t so you reload. It is a mechanic which can work ONLY in a setting with perma death and no reloading. Just a note - it makes no sense to have no armor and weapons when ambushed. It’s an adventuring party, not a Holliday trip. It’s not like they put up a tend and change into pijamas.

Yes! Having speperate charisma and beauty stat was something special. The thing is, Deadfire doesn’t do the combat/social mix for attributes. By current logic investing into beauty stat would either need to somehow contribute to combat, or would detract from effectiveness of your character. Deadfire isn’t really designed for creating combat or social oriented characters - they are always both.

Xoti Romance

She tried to hop unto my Watcher love train before I even left Port Maje. That was before patch 1.0.2 though. I turned her down initially and had easy ways to resume relationships with every part of her lantern quest. I am curious now. Also hopefully, that “every one want ps to bang my Watcher” won’t be a thing anymore. Maybe your dispositions aren’t up to her standards? When I played it I had maxed out almost all dispositions quite early into the game.
