  1. It also depends on what you mean by "content complete." Woedica and Eothas may yet have some parting words.
  2. Please excuse the quick hack-job, but who wants to bet the patch is something along the lines of? Remember how there was some discussion about how "The Ultimate" wasn't going to have a steam achievement, but *maaaaaybe* there would be alternative forms of recognition? Perhaps Josh has a whole bag of these to hand out to anyone who can prove they pulled it off.
  3. It's not like it was a secret news announcement. A user simply asked the question, and an answer came forth. Whether is Twitter, Discord, Facebook, the Obsidian Forums, Reddit, or something far more obscure, there's enough cross-pollination in the community that information still tends to get where it needs to be, no matter where it was initially posted.
  4. where was this mentioned? Obsidian Entertainment's Official Discord. I could upload a screenshot if I really must... But I'm a trustworthy fellow. You can just just take my word for it, right?
  5. There's no specific ETA on the next patch, but per the Community Manager, Aarik, don't expect to see any updates in March.
  6. It is indeed a $60 game. "Private Division has shared with us that the game will retail for $60." [link]
  7. The Ultimate. All challeges together, POTD only, no mods. Josh Sawyer tweeted it a while back; the image is his face and the constellation looks like a bike frame I believe it also requires all three expansions and extends Eothas' challenge to include the DLC content, not just critical path. Good times.
  8. Last we heard, they were taking feedback on TB mode through the end of February. Maybe we'll see a patch in the coming weeks, but there is still some other things to finish up before declaring Deadfire complete. The final bits of the Deadfire agenda seems to be: - Turn-Based mode out of beta - The last Magran's Challenge - other secrets ???
  9. Yeah, the DXDiag shows the Citrix Indirect Display Adapter that's been causing trouble lately. While we wait for Unity to patch things on their end, and Obsidian to incorporate the fix into Deadfire, your options are: - Uninstall Citrix temporarily - In the Windows Device Manager, look under "Display Adapter" and right-click to Uninstall (not just Disable) the virtual display adapter - Uninstall Citrix, and follow some slightly more complicated instructions to re-install without the virtual display adapter. I went with the third option and things have been fine. The Indirect Display Adapter isn't a necessary component for the majority of Citrix users. If you're just remoteing into your work desktop or a hosted application, it's pretty likely that you aren't even using that feature anyway.
  10. It doesn't look like your attachments came through, but do you happen to have Citrix on your PC? That's been the number one culprit behind immediate crashes to desktop thanks to a weird incompatibility between Unity and a virtual display driver installed by Citrix Workspace. If that's the case, you can try uninstalling Citrix first to see if the problem goes away.
  11. It's actually not a bad way of checking things out these days. Watching half an hour of a cold playthrough can tell you more about the game than many written reviews will. Even if with a compensated "influencer", it's hard to gloss over gameplay issues or bugs when they're live demoing something in front a couple hundred viewers.
  12. Let me see if I can answer some of you questions. > How do I trigger the auto culling feature? You cannot. The auto-cull is either entirely off, or set at a high-enough limit that it doesn't trigger anymore. And compared to the "old" system where you had the option to sell off excess treasure cards to permanently remove them from your inventory, the post-game sell-off only sells them "back to the box". There is presently no way to choose to permanently remove a card from your inventory. > Will card duplicates of excessive numbers skew the location decks? Yes-ish. Over the course of the game, I think there have been a couple iterations on how Treasure Cards work, but the present system seems to soft limit the number of any given treasure card to (3*number_of_locations - 1) . If you play with a party of three, up to 14 of your big pile of Smiths might be put in the box to be randomly dealt out into location decks. Keep in mind, there's also a second set of mechanics in play. Basic cards start getting randomly set aside from play starting in AD3, and Elite cards at AD5. Any treasure card with those traits may be randomly held back later in the game. > Is opening up treasure boxes a bad idea? {shrug}, I don't know. I stopped bothering with treasure chests after buying the Steam edition that includes all the cards. Once you pass the limit above ^ , it doesn't really matter if you have 65 Smiths. > Are all cards available to find through play, or do you require treasure chests to unlock certain cards? Almost all of the Treasure Cards need to be unlocked in a chest or purchased outright with one of the Steam editions. The only treasure cards the technically unlock through play are the cards reward cards you get after completing adventures on the highest difficulty. If you really have an overload of cards that you want addressed, send support@obsidian.net an email. It's unfortunate that it may be the only way to trim inventory permanently, but that's the best option right now. Let me know if you have other questions about game mechanics. The game has been out for a few years at this point, and the community has mostly figured out how the game works and/or differs from the tabletop version.
  13. Not sure what your platform of choice is, but on PC there are no plans for a physical release of TOW.
  14. > with the recent purchase by Microsoft Correct. > Josh Sawyer is not going to be involved in TOW Somewhat true, with caveats. > the studio has increased in size They're hiring, but it doesn't appear that the studio has drastically changed in size since the acquisition. >perhaps there is something else, maybe TOW2 The hints dropped in the last two months imply they are willing to make a sequel to TOW2 if given the opportunity, and have a rough idea what they'd want to do in it. But beyond that, there's no new rumors about whatever the next big thing might be, presumably codenamed "Project Mississippi".
  15. I'm not even sure how a survival mode would thematically fit with what we've been shown so far. Sure, it's a dystopia, but food scarcity doesn't seem to among the chief issues, and you never seem too far away from your ship or a local saloon. It feels like a safe assumption that if your spacer can afford to hop from planet to planet, they also have the means to keep the ship's freezer fully-stocked with burritos and pizza.
  16. Exclusive Combat Gameplay And Details For The Outer Worlds
  17. Don't worry, it will be pulled of Steam two weeks before release. And then somehow exclusively released as a Netflix Original Series!
  18. Jean Giraud, a.k.a. Moebius? If you're going for retro-future, he's certainly got the style.
  19. Hey, years later, the answer is now yes! The same process outlined in [How To: Merging Desktop and Mobile Accounts] will work mobile-to-mobile. A couple things to note as you give it a try: - Check that the iPad is logged into Game Center, and the android phone is logged into the Google Play store. It won't work otherwise. - If you haven't already created an Asmodee account, don't. There's been little incentive to create one, and it often seems to cause problems during merges. - Generate the code on the iPad, input it on Android. You can do it the other way around, but the side that generates the code is the one that gets to be the "master" in the merge process.
  20. Per Deadfire Update #60, The Turn-Based beta is taking feedback through the end of February. Aside from maybe a quick patch to fix some things that recently broke, I wouldn't expect any major changes to Turn Based mode for at least another month.
  21. I know, right? The latest version installed drivers for a "Citrix Indirect Display Adapter" and has been causing problems for Unity games for the last couple months. It's a feature most people probably wouldn't ever use, but hey, Citrix wants to make sure their software works with every possible use case. Glad you were able to solve the problem!
  22. Per your DxDiag, it looks like may have recently updated your copy of Citrix to the newer Citrix Workspace. There is a known issue with Unity and the new Virtual Display drivers that were recently introduced into Citrix Workspace. Until some sort of fix eventually works it's way from Unity into a Deadfire patch, your options are: - Uninstall Citrix Workspace - Uninstall Citrix Workspace and roll back to an earlier version (v. 1810 and earlier should work) - Uninstall Citrix Workspace and reinstall the newest version with these instructions I just had the same issue myself, and the third option got things back to normal pretty quickly.
