As Hannibal mentioned, iOS linking is done with your Apple ID (specifically, the Game Center login), not any per-device method. Just go to Settings --> Game Center, and check that your new iPad is logged into Game Center with the same Apple ID as the old iPad. Relaunch pathfinder, and you should be be all set. Any further account problems can be sorted out with an email to support@obsidian.net.

A Special Thank You From Obsidian
Ethics Gradient replied to Shyla's topic in The Outer Worlds: Announcements & News
DLC? -
You probably got awarded one or more Treasure Chests. There are a few flaky weekly challenges, and whenever the advertised reward doesn't line up with what is received, it is usually giving out Treasure Chests. Feel free to drop them a line at support@obsidian.net . They should take care of you and hook you up with some gold for your troubles.

Agreed. Something floopy happened with mobile formatting. Unless... Re ad in g. Li ke t hi s is n or ma l.

So which state is this project?
Ethics Gradient replied to Flouride's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Maine. That implies there are three other projects (Mississippi, Illinois, and Alabama) potentially under consideration. Check it out. Grab a copy of the video loop from https://grounded.obsidian.net --->> https://d1079ywfijtdjs.cloudfront.net/images/grounded/videos/grounded-looping-video.mp4 Parse it for strings, and you'll find: <creatorAtom:windowsAtom creatorAtom:extension=".prproj" creatorAtom:invocationFlags="/L" creatorAtom:uncProjectPath="\\?\C:\Users\mmiranda\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\13.0\Maine 15 Sec Loop.prproj"/> -
I was thinking it could be a bike-related puzzle game where you have to organize your assorted bike tools on ever-more-challenging peg boards or in small garages. The higher levels would slowly add in all the weirdo tools necessary to fix vintage Italian bikes. I guess it would feel a little like Tetris, except that each piece costs $120 and was last produced in the early 1970s.

And whatever that gap is, one still has to remember that PC sales are just one piece in the profitability of a multi-platform game. Big money is still coming in via Xbox, PS4 (and Switch, eventually). It likely doesn't take a colossal Epic Game Store incentive to make the game a financial success. If we had the raw numbers to analyze, I would not be too surprised if the effect of all this EGS drama was a quantifiably small piece of the overall sales pie chart.

Third person view
Ethics Gradient replied to Lord Grievous's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Mikey Dowling has been doing a bit of Q&A in Discord this morning. Interpret it how you will, but it appears the issue has been decided with some measure of finality. -
Third person view
Ethics Gradient replied to Lord Grievous's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
The feature is neither impossible or undesirable. However they told us nearly a year ago not to expect it, and as recently as a week ago said again that it wasn't going to happen. The good news is that TOW seems to have been a success, and things like mod support and third-person cameras are solidly on the radar as they contemplate further entries in the series. -
Third person view
Ethics Gradient replied to Lord Grievous's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
While you can view your character model via the idle animation or using the dev console mod to enable the free cam, your player still doesn't have the animations it needs to move about the game. I'm not saying this because I hate 3rd person modes, it is just information that the devs have told me and others when asked. Third person, by offsetting the camera behind the player, would more or less look like the below video. For it to be an official feature, the character would need new animations, and levels would have to be QA'd to ensure things still work then the viewport is no longer at a predictable height/angle. It's just not something that the devs can flip on in its present state, and have further stated that it is a feature they do not intend to implement in this game. -
Third person view
Ethics Gradient replied to Lord Grievous's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
And for what it's worth, the player character doesn't have the full set of animations needed to make the 3rd person view look particularly smooth. It's possible that some enterprising modder could "enable" such a mode, but everyone will probably note the player movements are janky and the camera keeps clipping out of bounds. For third person to be done right, those animations and camera rigging would have to be added to the game first, and that's not taking into account QA or possible level redesign. Since it's much more than an On/Off toggle in the options menu, the official stance is currently: not going to happen -
Oh man. Thanks for pulling all that information that together! I've been using that page the last few days to point people towards various tweaks and fixes because it was getting a bit unmanageable to remember which thread on reddit had the solution they were looking for. It's been extremely helpful to have all the current tips and workarounds in a single spot.

What the game could use
Ethics Gradient replied to Muze's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Aside from some early expectation management from the developer team, there were a few knowledgable posters explaining some perspectives in this thread. It really came down to how the team wanted to limit the scope of the game, and the requirements to implement a third person camera was more than just programming an on/off switch. It can affect level design, character modeling, and QA in ways they didn't have the resources to support. -
What the game could use
Ethics Gradient replied to Muze's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
The decision about third person was explained pretty well a while ago. It was more about managing the size and scope of the game than forgetting to add a feature. -

Honestly, given the ridiculous advertising budget something like a COD has, I could also say the same about their advertising strategy. Apart from the recent news about 150+ GB installs, I've seen almost zero regarding the new COD. It really just depends on whether your primary media sources are in the target demographic for the ad buys.

Not really. The stash is shared space across all parties. Storage outside the party inventory doesn't really exist in the tabletop rules of the game, and was mostly added to help you trade between parties or swap characters around. Since there is no per-party stash, your only real option to clean it out is to sell those cards off.
