  1. Double-check that you are connected to Game Center on your iOS device. The usual hangup is when your account gets logged out after a software update, or was never really set up in the first place. On your iOS device: Settings --> Game Center If you're already logged in, you can try logging out and then sign back in with your Apple ID. On iOS, your Pathfinder profile depends on which Game Center account is actively in use. If that still doesn't work, support@obsidian.net can guide you through the process or establish the link manually.
  2. I can’t say for sure without the dxdiag log, but if you have Citrix installed on your computer, the error you described has all the usual signs. If you use Citrix, or recently upgraded it, try uninstalling Citrix to see if Deadfire works correctly. If you still require Citrix for work/school reasons, search the Windows Store, and install the version of Citrix found there. The version on the Windows Store omits a certain video driver that causes crashes like you are experiencing.
  3. I guess there are a bunch of different ways to parse "realistic scopes". If we're just taking about simulating the loss of peripheral vision as the character uses a long-range scope, sure. Black out the screen and minimize the HUD. I'd imagine reflex scopes would leave the UI relatively unchanged due to two-eyed use. But if this is just about scopes in general.... I say bring on the sci-fi weapons! The game is set 250 years in the future, in space, and on multiple planets. It would be immersion-breaking in a whole host of different ways if our space optics behaved in ways comparable to contemporary glass. Projectile vs. Energy Weapons, varying gravities and atmospheric densities; it would be hard for future weapons remain practical without some technological magic assisting the user. We're already on the leading edge of that with TrackingPoint, which automatically calculates range to estimate drop and drag. The future of scopes is already here, and it's got a colorful HUD... and wifi!
  4. The way the game does multi-platform stuff, the Asmodee account seems to cause problems more often than not. It is generally better to manually link platforms by clicking on your account then "Link Devices". On whichever platform you have the saves you care about the most you click "Link Devices" then pick a target. Those codes are then entered into the target platform with the "Enter a Link Code" button. For example, link iOS to Android, then iOS to Steam. Once you do that, it should merge all the DLC content you own into one account. The Asmodee-only link does do some cross-play functions, but seems to have issues resolving new steam content. While it should work just fine, it is recommended that you copy down your account information before each merge. In each version of the game, go to "Options" --> "Settings" and make a note of the PFID number at the bottom of the screen. Should you have issues, support@obsidian.net will sort you out. Having the PFIDs handy will speed up the process a little if there is a need to investigate the original accounts and what happened during the merge.
  5. I think it's time to rename this thread. Who's with me? Are Obsidian forum users publicly undercutting needlessly-speculative The Outer Worlds drama?
  6. It is still a UE4 game. Without some sort of built-in modding framework, it almost doesn't make a difference whether it is a UWP or WIN32 build. The developers know that modding is something fans are asking for, but it's the kind of thing that might have to wait until TOW2 (or a late-stage DLC/update). Don't bet on seeing mods anytime soon.
  7. [pulls out internet outrage checklist] Nope. This discussion is still in the "Making assumptions about other assumptions" phase. With any luck, we might be able to pull together a cogent hypothesis in... [looks at watch] about eighteen months. Anyhow, we still know relatively little about the game other than everyone at E3 seemed to enjoy their demos. Mashing a couple out-of-context statements together until it generates traction seems to be all we've got to work with until more extensive pre-release reviews hit the press.
  8. I'm viewing Tim's interview in a similar context. From the standpoint of a present-day American, he seems to be trying to convey that: no matter where you are on today's political spectrum, you should be able to enjoy The Outer Worlds, and not feel particularly alienated by the pro/anti-capitalism themes or satire found in the game. The goal appears to be to give the players as much room as possible to explore the narrative regardless of whether the staff, studio, or Tim Cain himself personally ascribes any truth to the notion that such opposing viewpoints carry equal validity. The fact that individuals at the company may have particularly liberal views shouldn't surprise anyone. The LA metro area is a solidly progressive corner of the United States.
  9. Q: Is Obsidian publicly undercutting The Outer Worlds' game director, Leonard Boyarsky? A: No Not entirely sure what the target of the the manufactured outrage is. If ten years ago someone tweeted: no one would have paid it any mind. I don't know how a single personal tweet is being played out as some sneak peak at internal conflict among the developers.
  10. No physical release is to be expected for TOW on PC. Epic, Microsoft, and (eventually) Steam only. The Outer Worlds Coming To Physical Media, Sets Price
  11. I'm pretty hyped with the big changes to USB and Ethernet: The frustrating IO bottleneck where networking and USB shared a chip (and bandwidth) is finally gone. The RPi 4 has a solid future capable little server.
  12. Yeah. I'm beginning to wonder if the lack of a Collectors Edition or or similar merch might be related to TOW being available on Games Pass. It's possible that the decision was made that it's hard to justify creating and distributing a special-er $90 version of TOW when Microsoft is trying to entice players into picking up the monthly subscription and getting it part of the Games Pass library.
  13. I'm totally going the Ubiquiti route next time I'm upgrading. I currently have a Synology RT2600 and MR2600 providing wireless across across a pretty large space, but the gear isn't ideally located based on how this 100-year-old house has been wired-up. Things would be a lot cleaner if I could put the cable modem and router at the point-of-entry in the basement instead of 100 feet of coax and two splitters deep into the house. Being able to separate your router from your access points has some nice physical advantages.
  14. Sure thing! TOW looks to be the kind of game that is super-enjoyable on console. Maybe if we're lucky a mod framework ride along with a DLC pack or a surprise mega-patch, but it's been made pretty clear that it wasn't in the time and scope of the TOW's initial release. The devs know the community is very interested in mods, so here's hoping that TOW2 will have some more of the features fans are looking for.
  15. That's actually a weird and easily-reproducible bug... I'm not sure why it happens. As I poke at some of the internals for the cards, the Splash cards are indeed lacking the Attack trait, and the Amulet shouldn't be scripted to block their use. That being said, even though the cards lack the Attack trait, it appears to be an oversight. Other cards with a similar set of powers (e.g. AD1 Fiery Weapon or AD2 Heat Metal) are considered Attack spells. It's possible the issued you found is some combination of bug and typo, but the overall result is still in keeping with the intended mechanics of the game.
  16. Congrats! And I, for one, welcome our new mod overlord!
  17. Going back to the Game Informer interviews, and statements by Mikey after the initial announcement, TOW will not ship with official mod support. The developers further clarified that they will not prevent players from creating mods, but games developed in Unreal Engine 4 are extraordinarily hard to alter in meaningful ways without an official framework. Expect the usual assortment of cheats and binary hacks, but don't bet on TOW having a mod scene like New Vegas anytime soon. I appears that DLC is already in the works, though no official announcements have been made. Observant fans have spotted LinkedIn pages or personal Twitters/Instagrams where devs casually mentioned their involvement in unnamed TOW DLCs. Though, no word about season passes as of yet.
  18. @dodger2020 In case you haven't found the thread of recommended solutions for Citrix-related problems, the easiest thing right now is to completely uninstall Citrix, then reinstall Citrix Workspace through the Microsoft Store. The App store version omits the virtual video drivers that currently crash Unity 5.6 games. It does the same thing as workarounds like this, but does not need to be repeated every time Citrix releases an update. If you're just remoting into systems for work, you are unlikely to need the drivers or the "Citrix Casting" feature. It is designed for a very specific set of use cases, like mobile roaming or logging into a projection system via QR codes.
