DEV1: I think we should buff Ranger's pets, they are mostly bad at the moment, especially on higher difficulties. DEV2: So you're saying we should give charges to figurines? DEV1: Yes, we must remove Heart of Fury from default Barbarian Aggresive Behavior set. DEV2: Great. I'm off to give some Penetration to Thorny Roots.

I set Ishiza to Passive and keep her away from combat. That's the only way to make her useful.

^ this is why. The figurines were pretty much a fun addition when you run around with a group, but an essential part of gameplay when you solo.

Patch 1.2.0 Updates Thread
Manveru123 replied to David Benefield's question in Patch Beta Bugs and Support
Why do you hate Minoletta's Concussive Missiles so much? This spell is decent at best already, and you're nerfing it again. Come on. Virtuous Triumph nerf is ridiculous, at least make it 50%, don't just make the skill completely worthless. A bunch of nerfs and no consideration for the fact that most mid-to-high tier Paladin abilities are garbage? Sure, I guess nerfing is easier. Fortunately, there are some good things here. DAoM is now a decent buff. And Ciphers feel like auto-include in any group now due to Ancestor's Memory. -
Best tank?
Manveru123 replied to no1fanboy's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I feel like a pure tank is a waste of space. It's much more efficient to run around with a bunch of tanky DPS characters instead. -
Backstabbing with a huge two-handed sword kicks my immersion in the balls :D But I realize that it's effective. I was actually considering a "dot" build. Single class Assassin with True Lover's Kiss and Rust's Poignard, spamming Gambit from Stealth, but I'm not sure how good would that be considering that I'd have to spend Guile to re-stealth during combat.

Crusaders are walking whirlwinds of destruction, one of the strongest classes for sure, combining great damage with survivability. But I personally like Votary the most. Build for Fire damage. Use only support companions, treat them like buff fodder (fantastic Bleak Walker RP potential btw). I might have a Fire fetish though. I'm not sure. I'm still working on a Monk who actually uses fists for damage without feeling clearly inferior to the same character but with weapons. Not much luck.. yet.

The difference is, with Pallegina you have to be very careful about how you approach quests, because I feel like there's many ways to get her to leave by accident.. while Xoti sticks around at least. Also Xoti can easily be replaced, Priests are not as good as they used to be, especially after 1.1 nerfs, while Pallegina's sub class is simply too strong to ignore
-
Not all single classes are bad compared to multis. Like for example I don't really feel like another class would add anything spectacular to my current Evoker. I'd rather have the higher levels spells and more PL (especially after Empower nerfs every PL will count for offensive casters). Also pure Chanters have the only source of resource restoration.
-
You're just wasting your time because neither will leave because of difference in opinion. All you need to do is be careful how you do quests because it feels like Pallegina is just waiting for an opportunity to leave if you make one questionable choice. But if she leaves, it won't be because of Xoti.

rymgard debuff curse
Manveru123 replied to Bugsreporter's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
This is still bugged in 1.1. Maybe not 100% repro rate but my Wizard's been stuck with this debuff for a while now. Just give it a duration already :/ -
Okay so do you remember that in those "old IE games" resting was not limited by anything, and you could rest after each and every fight, effectively making all of your abilities and spells "per encounter"? Now instead of you having to press two buttons, your health and abilities are restored automatically. Sounds good to me
