Well, I had 5 minutes before work to test it. Loaded a save and Amplified Wave was perfectly castable on cipher herself now) Btw, I have followed this guide. Maybe you have skipped some step? I have found this enumeration in AttackBase.cs (which I've got via ILSpy) That's strange. Seems like it probably means instead of "friendly including charmed enemies" -> "friendly including figurines, summons and charmed allies". Hmm, creation screen uses some predefined values instead of checking the actual <power>.unity3d files? -

There you go: - download link - Drop the modded assets into PillarsOfEternity_Data/assetbundles/prefabs/objectbundle folder. I was seeing Body Attunement more of DR debuff tool actually. Like when you are facing a target with really high DR and have hard time building focus. But due to encounter design, there are always some squishier minions around, so I just build focus attacking them instead. It indeed is. But so long as balance is not disturbed, nor there is an explicit contradiction from lore perspective, I feel free to do whatever I want, as I can just rationalize/retcon it Actually there is a solid chance that this is possible. What I did is changed (via UABE) the powers validTarget parameter: 10 (AllyNotSelf) => 9 (Ally). And there is also FriendlyIncludingCharmed option. -
Well... you: - either build a sturdy party, use buffs, kill everyone over time, and do not charm/dominate (except in emergency) - or instead of focusing on buffing, build a high cc / high dps team => paralyze immediate targets while charming nasty stuff and in a way use them as your figurines. On hard it would work. On upscaled PotD, not so much. You will be able to reach decent (like 40-60%) crit rate only after durganizing your weapons. Not to mention that I was often attacking enemies with already debuffed defenses...

Aaa, remember when I was speaking of unexpected/unreliable nature of gyrd's cc On other hand these random dominates are ok, if you have chanters, as the enemies will continue to take Dragon Trashed damage if they were afflicted before changing sides. Mental Binding their frontliners I intend to kill. Whisper of Treason their nasties (especially druids). Plus wizard's Slicken, Shadowflame and Confusion.

For a rogue I'd say definitely. Let's say you made a swing and rolled 50 preDR damage. Without talent: - you deal: [50 - targetedDR] + (50 - lashDR)/4 With talent: - you deal: [50 - targetedDR] + (1.25 * 50 - lashDR)/4 If we assume that targeted by lash DR is the same as the one targeted by weapon, and: - [DR=0]: 62.5 => 65.625 | i.e. 5% increase - [DR=10]: 50 => 53.125 | i.e. 6.25% increase - [DR=20]: 37.5 => 40.625 | i.e. 8.33% increase - [DR=50]: 10 (min) => 13.125 | i.e. 31.25% increase - [DR=65]: 10 (min) => 10.000 | i.e. 0% increase > The good thing: elemental talents boost your lash which is a multiplicative bonus damage, and if you have a high enough damage coefficient has potential to result in higher damage increase than let's say from ApprenticeSneakAttack talent. > The bad thing: elemental lash does not deal 'min' damage and can be completely mitigated by DR (and afaik lash also does not benefit from DR bypass stuff) (although so far as you are attacking low-DR targets you are good)

I have just installed it last evening. And tbh I've found the camera controls weird as well. It took me awhile to find the option for edge panning. But am still looking how to rotate camera while right mousebutton is kept pressed. Plus the option for bigger font size. P.S. I got used to the abomination of NWN2 camera relatively fast. It ended up more like 3rd person, than the isometric though.

It was mentioned that carnage will not generate focus in Deadfire. Actually carnage doesn't generate focus in PoE1, if you add it via console, as well. On the other hand wizard's Blast - does. And FoD as well - as this is a modifier to existing attack. Edit: I have retested the striked-through part, scroll-down for the actual results in v3.06.

Agreed. Having two ciphers and a barbarian in party, I haven't casted Reaping Knives on another cipher yet, and only casted it twice on barbarian so far just to see what happens when he uses Heart of Fury. There was no dps increase (over dual-Bittercuts). The only good thing is that cipher was regaining the lost focus on RK almost immediately, and after that had a nice "passive" gain, although not that big compared to his own focus generation rate when at zero recovery. -
^ Call me a maniac, but I always hide cloaks and helmets (aside from headbands and scarf masks) on my dps characters. Back in the WoW days, I was even using this as a sort of what-to-expect-metric when I was going to face someone for the first time. Best dueling rogues never had their cloaks visible. #truestory

Yeap it's possible, and afaik it doesn't contradict the lore?: "From the brîshalgwin, the animancers learned that Glanfathans had developed mental abilities that allowed them to perceive and contact what animancers categorized as "housed" souls, i.e., souls held within a physical vessel." - i.e. the soul should be housed, but it's not mentioned anywhere if the own soul is ruled out. So the only concern is balance. Personally I don't see what would change in a full party environment, but it would definitely buff cipher's solo capabilities. Is this ok? Also, what's your stance on Reaping Knives and Stasis Shell? -
The idea was to increase INT and DEX (not PER) - for better and faster buff delivery. PER - is mostly needed for Painful Interdiction, or occasional Shining Beacons - in the fights were you didn't buff your party accuracy. On PotD enemies spawn in greater numbers/quality. You will sure have some fun when meeting 3 Sirens at once in the Battery

Yeap. This, helwalker's increased incoming damage, and wizard subclass details were not reflected in the text list of update #40. Personally I understood it as if their power level remained the same, but the resource pool (max zeal) was lowered. But now that I re-read it: "Lay on Hands (Flames of Darcozzi Palace) creates a flame shield around the paladin. Lower Zeal power." - I find it ambiguous. The new multi-classing system does not need as aggressive [power-level related scaling] as the previously announced system did, because it's no longer possible to dip into another class. Having +1 power level could as well increase the damage by just 5-10%. We will need to know the exact numbers in order to make accurate conclusions on balance...

Sidekick potraits
MaxQuest replied to Heijoushin's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Out of those 4 I like Rekke most for example) I mean all those are quality portrais, but I personally don't feel eager to have companions with Ydwin and Radora facial expressions, or the eyes of Bonteru... (e.g. looking at Radora's mouth/eyes I get a feeling that she feels frustration/disgust/fear) Agreed, Ydwin's portrait is great, but she looks like a tired and overly serious vampire professor. I was expecting her to be more enthusiastic. Think of Elise Trailblazer from Hearthstone (but bleached out): image + pixie haircut + round glasses. All in all, I will maybe use a custom portrait as well (khm, something like this quick collage), or at least slightly edit current version: #madpaintnetskills -
Hmm, personally I like specialization. I mean if you want to deal damage, you need high MIG and decent PER. PER is also important if you want to land Painful Interdiction. At the same time every time you cast a buff, points invested in this attributes are wasted... A somewhat compromise could be a 12/10/17/10/19/10 pale elf or 15/10/17/7/19/10 boreal dwarf. I think finishing act 2 will be easier. Doing that plus a few bounties will net you 1-2 levels. As for Durgan's line... those upscaled Battery Sirens are annoying...
