  1. The plot and pacing of that show is actually 20x better than Superman Returns.
  2. Devil May Cry 3. Special Edition. :">
  3. The only spoiler I've heard of is that in the first 4 episodes of season 3, 1 or 2 major characters will die. Most rumors point to Dualla though, who is not a major character. James Callis, who plays Baltar, said in an interview a while back that season 3 will be very dark and "unforgiving" for the survivors. Apparently the writers did something special, almost evil, for the characters... Meh.
  4. I saw Pirates of the Carribbean Dead Man's Chest yesterday. Pretty good overall but some parts felt taked on for length... Keira's character is waisted but the baddies are really great. I didn't feel the FX were too overbearing like I've read in some reviews. This one is much more fantasyish than the first. So far it's the best of this summer's "blockbusters" Really good ending!
  5. That's the season 2 finale entitled Lay Down Your Burdens Part 2. In that episode, Gaius Baltar is elected President of the colonies after former President Roslin, with the aid of Col Tigh, tried to steal the election. We then get a one year jump in the future, where Baltar's rule is failing for obvious reasons. Then the Cylons land and take over, after Baltar surrenders the colonies to them. :D
  6. Chronological internal or chronological real world? i.e. numerical order (I-VI) or order of production (IV-VI, I-III). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Numerical, from episode 1 to episode 6. I find the prequel trilogy to be better when viewed in one shot rather than one episode once in a while. And it is still surprising how good the original still is. It aged quite well imo.
  7. Since I have a lot of time on my hands, the last couple of days i've watched the entire Star Wars saga in chronological order, Batman Begins, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. In a few minutes I'll start The Last Crusade, followed by Serenity and then delve deep in the Lord Of the Rings Extended editions. I also managed to watch Ultraviolet(sucked) and Click(ok).
  8. I spent 90% of my days sleeping. Because I'm sick. Once that is done it's back to work for me. I haven't had a decent summertime since I finished school... so you guys enjoy it while you can
  9. You could also try a level design position. Those aren't that much harder to get than QA jobs but the pay is much better and you are usually treated more like a human than a piece of gum under somebody's shoe. You do need more skills though, like the knowledge of at least one 3D modeling/animation software and you need to make a few mods to hone those skills. QA isn't just playing through a level and describing bugs. Most of the time the work consists of making those bugs happen, by going out of the usual path and breaking the system. That said, a good tester will know or find out how the system(program) works and will learn ways to break it. The "quality" of most QA jobs is also largely dependendant on the game itself. I tested little, ultra simple kiddy games for months and big scale RTS & RPGs. Guess which ones are more enjoyable to work on? If you really want to get into the industry through QA but are having problems getting into the big game companies, you could try an external QA firm.
  10. I said: "3 action sequences, including the "climax" which is little more than "Lift the big bad thing Superman, nevermind the villain, ooooh special effects!" It looks good but what happens? He lifts an island into space. The plane scene was much more intense, fast and the effects were better. A climax should always be the top scene in any movie and in a film that is built on special effects, we want to see Superman fly around at blinding speeds and kicking butt. Not slowly pushing a rock into space. The movie was slow enough.
  11. I worked on a game for that movie. It was cancelled due to crappage but apparently the game project was a go because Torque is one the top 100 money makers of all time... No kidding...
  12. I didn't like Superman Returns. It was too long and boring and we spent half the movie listening to Lois Lane bitch about her job. 3 action sequences, including the "climax" which is little more than "Lift the big bad thing Superman, nevermind the villain, ooooh special effects!" In between we get the blah, blah, blah, Supes flies romantically with Lois, Clark eats a sandwich, the kid is cute and opens the door for one very crappy sequel, Lex is devious but not smart enough to actually change is plan from the previous films(he wants new land), Cyclops saves the day cuz he can fly too... Everything falls completely flat. Good things? The plane rescue scene was amazing and the very best part of the movie. Too bad this happens during the first 15 minutes of a 2h45 movie and nothing else is better afterwards. Lex Luthor is very evil in that one. His insanity makes him a bit comical but most of the character is just pure evil. I liked that. It makes Superman The Movie and Superman 2 even better movies, despite their age. I would've prefered a completely "new" take on Superman, similar to what was done in Batman Begins. A larger connection to the the comics instead of the movies, a more complex Superman than the simple "I am good, I do only good deeds". I mean, if Supes helps some officers arrest a speeding criminal but in fact, that speeder was not the criminal but running from dirty cops? Anyway, it sucked. Go rent Incedibles instead. PS: No, I'm not feeling better.
  13. Meh. Mono
  14. I cried yesterday because I have a rather severe case of mono and everyday/night is so long and painful it feels like it's my last.
  15. Just finished The Phantom Menace.
  16. I have a hard time believing that. This is like a lot of people on this forum that were thrashing Oblivion before it came out and most people here ended up buying and playing it. Hype is hard to resist because it's basically brainwashing. 3 months ago there were already Superman Doritos in grocery stores and threads like this one only feed the hype. You may not go see it on release day, but you'll go see it. I'd bet a pseudo cookie on that but Dark Raven already won the only one I had... :D

He gave that up for The Whore:
  18. For some reason I really like this thead. I'm not being sarcastic, I really do.
  19. What exactly will Blue-Ray versions of a movie have that their DVD counterparts won't, anyway? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A bigger price tag.
  20. All hail Joss Whedon!
  21. That is what we "in the biz" call a "feature".
  22. "Kinda off"? Try "Completely". <_<
  23. You mean there's a bug in an Elder Scrolls game?!
