I felt like I was watching a Habs game... I feel sad, angry and happy the slaughter is over, all at the same time.
  2. I said 9 weeks because the updated insurance policy for Mr. Silverstein took effect 9 weeks before the attack. A policy that prominently covered terrorist attacks and that is pretty much what smells fishy to me. It looks like he new something was about to happen but didn't say anything. Last game is on tonight and I have a party to prepare for when the Oilers wipe the ice with some Hurry canes. So goodnight everyone.
  3. They had 9 weeks to prepare.
  4. 1- According to "Loose Change" and other sources, it was in the best interest of Mr. Silverstein. 2- You sure you know all the relevant facts and that none of them are fabricated/wrong? 3- I was hoping you didn't. I'm glad. 4- I'm not letting my gut feeling dictate my arguments. Something does smell fishy or else this thread(and others) wouldn't be up. But I actually don't really care. Because no matter if it is a cover up or not, history will remember 9/11 as a terrorist attack that produced a war with Iraq which turned into Vietnam 2. Everything else we say is pure uselessness, speculation and conspiracy theories, unless we're working for the CIA or NSA or whatever. 5- Whatever. The end before the start, the dessert before the main course, the kum before the suck. Who cares about such details, you knew what I meant. Astr0.
  5. no, but even a self-serving politician is smart enough to understand what could have happened. the details are everywhere. so no, not true, i do know the details. that's a bunch of conspiracist nonsense. we do know. stating otherwise is, again, putting the cart before the horse. you assume "we'll never know" then justify the same conspiracy with even more conspiracy. taks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1- Perhaps they knew nothing would happen, since money is electronic and it only takes a few hours/days to backup a system. 2- You sure you know all the details? 3- If you watch news broadcasts from other countries you will see how subjective the American media is. Especially news services. You can grab extra pieces of information that are never shown on American television(I'm not saying medias from other countries are not subjective, Oh God no!). 4- We only know what they(the media) let us know. Not necessarily lies but not necessarily the whole truth either. We interpret conclusions based on what we know. My interpretation is different than yours but it is just as valid because we know the same things. Putting the cart before the horse is what speculation is.
  6. But it didn't... Taks, I'm only speculating. I don't know the details of what happened and neither do you. We only know what the media show us and the media is controlled by the government in power. We'll never know what really happened and even if someone tells us without any shadow of a doubt, we would still question the possiblity of a government conspiracy.

  8. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  9. The original Battlestar Galactica!
  10. because in the end, the military is designed to go to war and result in death, whereas the civilians in the towers are those the military is designed to go to war to defend. taks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wasn't talking about the soldiers' deaths. Innocent civilians die in wars(any war, not just Iraq and I don't want to go there either Moose) also. Thousands of them. I'm just saying that thinking politicians wouldn't kill innocent civilians to protect material things and interests of great monetary value is simply ignoring the horrible thruth. We are sheep.
  11. Why not? The decision to blow up the towers or to go to war implies the death of thousands. And who says the war hadn't started yet?
  12. And yet they send tens of thousands to war.
  13. This vid is so lame I'm actually tempted to enroll in the pirate academy out of spite.
  14. For me: Original Trilogy (w00t) FTW KotOR games Prequel Trilogy <_< And I barely consider the prequel trilogy because it's just so damn bad. Sorry.
  15. You're an alien, aren't you?
  16. Religious zealotism: How influenced you are faced by religious people trying to enroll you in their galaxy-conquering cult. Addictiveness: How susceptible you are to chemicals of all sorts and how they affect you. Resistance: How your body deals with physical injury and implant installation(if it's sci-fi you gotta have implants!) Psychic: Deals with psychic powers and how they affect you. Interaction: How you handle conversations, negociations and da ladies. Power: Strength.
  17. Although my passion for minesweeper has no bounds, I reinstalled Farcry last night. I want to beat it without cheating.
  18. Canderous can only be played by either Ron Perlman or Adam Baldwin. In fact, most of the cast of Firefly/Serenity would do quite nicely for a KotOR movie.
  19. You are a Social Liberal (61% permissive) and an... Economic Liberal (21% permissive) You are best described as a: Democrat You exhibit a very well-developed sense of Right and Wrong and believe in economic fairness.
  20. They weren't. I very clearly remember seeing explosions just before the towers crumbled down in a relatively clean way, live on tv. I was even taking notes... It actually shocked me more than the impacts of the planes because my first thought was that they destroyed the towers in a controlled fashion(they both fall straight down, pro-demo style) to avoid collateral damage to other buildings and killed all those people in the process. I haven't seen the footage of the explosions until Loose Change and everytime I tell someone they just think I'm crazy. I could be but not about this.
  21. Why does this make you cry? It makes me cheer. I'm like "YEAH, ALRIIIIIGHT!" *pumps fist* ...yeah, I get into movies really badly. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I cry for the pure joy it induces to see Gandalf be super badass and save the day by jumping in a sea of orcs with a thousand-men strong column of horsemasters with the sun exploding in a wall of salvation behind them. I cry because it's a (w00t) overload.
  22. Firewall. Decent run of the mill b-grade investigative thriller. They took that rather intense computer scene from Clear and Present Danger and made a 2hour film with it. Not great, but ok. And Virginia Madsen is still hot
  23. So true, so true. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Women should cry less often... it might make them less emotionally retarded. That said, I also cry when Optimus dies When the flower blooms again in E.T. When Eomer and Gandalf charge down that hill at the end of Two Towers(I get chills just by typing this). When I see a cat or dog that has become roadkill(I think about that kid who's waiting for his best friend to come home...). Both times my sister gave birth, after leaving the hospital on my way to the car. When a species is about to be wiped off the face of the earth, especially when it comes to polar bears, tigers and whales(cursing to hell those damn Japanese whalers). Extreme Home Makeovers also do it for me. By the way, I'm not a sissy. I'm diabetic.
  24. Did you even play San Andreas? Are you aware it has very decent RPG elements and that it is way beyond Vice City? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I did play San Andreas, and although I liked the story missions and conquering territories was nice, I didn't like the "Keeping fit" and keeping the girlfriend happy jobs. Although that could be because I'm only 14 years old as of now, and I prefer more fast-paced things. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You mean like "driving a motorcycle behind a train and shooting at guys on top with 2 uzis as they lob grenades at you" fast-paced or "Burnout" fast-paced? Or maybe it was KotOR fast-paced? Admit it, those 2 games can't be compared rationally to each other. All one can say is "I prefer GTA:SA style games over KotOR style games". There is nothing else to say, which makes this argument and this thread pointless.
  25. Exile is canonically LSM as well.
