Scrolling bug
Archaven posted a question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
hi i'm not sure if this was just me but a weird bug happened to me where in dialogues conversation just kept on scroll to the top. No matter what i do with my mouse wheel or scroll down the conversation it just scroll to the top. I can't proceed with the conversation at all and i can only guess and press 1-5 blindly. -
Easy Mode is to hard
Archaven replied to Judah's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Played on Hard game is nice. And it's not too hard at all. I understand some people who just want to play games for the story. Maybe they should add a Very Easy difficulty for people like you. But if you really want cheesy perhaps why not just cheat? -
Obsidian, why isn't there any hotfix yet?
Archaven replied to Jazou's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Have you even tried reading anything in this thread, or you just came in to throw a tantrum? I have and i came in to vent my frustration because i can't play the game as every saves my character became godlier. It's more than a week already. At least they make an official statement or update about the status of patching. -

Obsidian suxs! It's over a week already and still no quick hotfix for the game breaking bugs :/ -
Playing as Mage or Spellcasters it's about aggressive, positioning and timing. If your spellcasters are timed and positioned correctly, after unleashing his/her AOEs to soften the enemy mobs a little, he can still retreat with some support from other characters that can AOE stun, tangle, blind for a short period.

This is actually a problem. I once quick saved and then suddenly the screen paused and i see red circles. When i reloaded it happened exactly and there's no way to run other than finish the combat or not able to beat it.

Why the hype?
Archaven replied to SKull's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Sorry TLDR. There's no hype but the game is awesome especially the combat. -
General tweaks and improvements
Archaven replied to Bootsy81's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
1. Patch the breaking bugs 2. I'm currently playing with the circles beneath characters off. Looks much better without. I had like to able to change it to gold color instead and change the opacity. 3. Sorting in stores doesn't work? 4. Fine tune certain classes that relies more heavily on resting giving them more per encounter abilities. 5. Name save games will be awesome. 6. Allow change of portraits of PC after started the game. That's all for now. -
Bioware Cookies!
Archaven replied to TheisEjsing's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Bioware said Baldur's Gate is the thing of the PAST. Glad Obsidian shows them Otherwise. -
Earlier after like 8 hours in the game i have heard of the missing racial bonus and stats when double click to equip bug.. Then today i read about the Eder stacking stats permanent bonus by just save and reloading. I have restarted the game once after some 8 hours and i restarted it because of the equip bug. Now i'm already at another 12 hours in the game and with this bug, i have to stop playing the game already. God knows what other more game breaking bug that has yet to be discovered. I can't play the game with this state. Any idea when is Obsidian going to release the patch? This hard breaking bug is really unacceptable.

I think the idea for this limited camping supplies was to add a layer of difficulty, challenge and introduces proper planning or strategy for say a location or level. It's also to add a sense of achievement as a reward if let's say you are limited to 3 camping supplies and you enter this cave, and once entered the cave, rocks fell and block the entrance and you can't go back until you clear all the cave and find a way out with that limited 3 camping supplies. With such restrictions, this will forced players to plan and strategize every battle and encounters while inside the cave and play in best efficiency to make it out. This provides a sense of challenge and satisfactions if players managed to complete the cave. But i don't see this working with some classes that are underwhelmingly useless like Wizard compared to other classes such as Cipher and with that limited 2 camping supplies. Its just more hassle than adding a sense of challenge.

This seems more ilke a hassle than increasing the difficulty for the players. Some character classes such as wizard after using all his/her spells they are just plain useless acting as meat slaughters. I understand the camping supplies are supposed to add a layer of difficulty where when you enter this location and you are limited to x amount of supplies. If you can't make it out then you will have to start and plan all over with your limited supplies. But this is not working at all for Wizards. I would suggest that maybe they can increase Wizard mechanics like doubling or tripling their castings per rest and increase the camping supplies limit. But they are still fricking useless compared to a Cipher. Just why not allow their low-mid spells to be per encounter and high level ones per rest?

I'm playing Cipher as PC and i'm loving it much. But Wizard on the other hand seems totally useless after he spent all his spells? For Aloth, the only thing he can do is do a close range slam on floor twice per encounter. When playing on Hard, the only way to continue is just go back to inn and restock the 2 camping supplies. That's seems more like hassle than hard.
