Allow the change of colors of circles beneath characters. The green kind of destroy the art of the game. I want gold and opacity. Thanks! -
Feedback on game
Archaven replied to Suna's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
No full voice acting to me is fine. The initial voice acting already have me memorized how the NPC character sound and immediately know his or her personality. I can even portray how each text were spoken based on the initial voice over. And that leave more immersion to me. -
How to zoom in close?
Archaven replied to Justinian's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Everyone have a mouse with scroll >.<. But it makes no difference if you use a mouse or keyboard. I tried both. The problem is that when running the game at high resolution, everything seems small, especially you can't zoom in close. And BIGGEST issue for me you can't ROTATE. -
Installing pillars on 2 pc's
Archaven replied to budyn's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Food analogies, awesome. Regardless of what the EULA says it's perfectly reasonable to suppose that a person may wish to use software he has licensed on more than one device. That this is expressly prohibited in EULAs just goes to show how anti consumer they are. Your response to this state of affairs shouldn't be to offer a food analogy and leap heroically to the defense of corporations who have strong-armed lawmakers into legislating support for product and service T&Cs that are hostile, unreasonable and unenforceable just so that their profiteering can continue unhindered by pesky things such as by robust consumer rights and protections. Nobody is asking for FREE anything, in fact if it weren't for peoples generosity, giving freely of their own money there wouldn't be a product for Paradox, Obsidian, GoG and Steam to attach a EULA that admonishes and restricts the use of for those very same people. For me i see no differences as piracy. You can licensed a copy does that means you are entitled to share it to your friends, relatives and families? Which probably more than 10 if that's a good example? You licensed a copy then i think it's perfectly acceptable if you are going to use it for yourself not for others. -
Plans for expansion?

Installing pillars on 2 pc's
Archaven replied to budyn's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
If you intend to play the game on 2 devices that you should buy 2 copies. Are you entitled for a FREE snack plate for your daughter if you just ordered 1 KFC snack plate? -
1) Are you... are you actually equating console players to racists? That's really ****ing offensive. 2) Forums are nowhere near a good sample of your audience. 3) Well, there's a reason consoles get games first. It's because the majority of pirated games are PC. That's a statistical fact. 4) By projecting all the cons of console gaming on to the audience for it, you are being as "racist" as those you claim to hate. 1) Yes i'm equating some console players to racists and they are worst than ****ing offensive as i've seen not one but many of them. 2) Forums are nowhere near good sample for biased fanboy as well. 3) I agree with you. The problem that botched PC gaming are piracy. 4) I'm stating the cons on console gaming and i'm the one racist? Not the one that call you pirates or beggars?

The game looks awesome in most places that i've seen. However, i saw some videos in outdoor areas where there are tall long static grasses that don't move. I understand it's a 2D painted background but my thoughts are it would look better when you keep it short. Because when it's long and it's static it kinds off put off immersion for me. Also, in indoors like taverns and rooms you often see a round or square room where all other parts of the screen are blacks. I recently saw a video teaser for Swordcoast Legends. The tavern looks awesome to me simply that you don't see much black empty screen around. I think this empty screen can be better improved with bigger rooms or spaces just ilke Swordcoast Legend. I'm not sure if it's by design that to mimic the feel of older Baldur's Gate games. But if there's going to be a remake of older titles, i would have hoped for less empty black screens. Just my thoughts for improving the game. This is not a complain thread but a thoughts for enhancing the game. Thanks.

Please DO NOT port this game to consoles. I find consoler gamers are the worst racist ever. I don't hate consoles myself but the biggest problems are games have to be watered down, gimped, simplified and made actioney to cater to the masses that has no interest in the genre at all. Developers end up gimping gameplay and sacrificing their core fans for the risks they are taking. Yeah consoles sounds like big money. But if the majority of the crowds are Destiny and Call of Duty crowd, you are just slapping yourself in the face. We've all seen truth how games turnt out to be when they go consoles and multi-platform. Sacred 3, Dungeon Siege 3, Dragon Age Inquisition, Mass Effect 3, Diablo 3 and Witcher 3 as well. If you follow Witcher 3 or Dragon Age Inquisition in the official forum, then you are well informed of how much outcries it caused to their original fans. Controller itself is a flawed input device in my opinion. It's good for playing "casual" games, 2D side scrollers like Mario Bros, third person action games. Controllers for FPS? That must be the biggest joke as gameplay has to kicks in "Auto Aim Assist" and what's more being promoted in e-Sports are the biggest joke. I don't mind games in multi-platform as long there are no sacrifices made on PC. But that's not going to happen. We all know that. Console gamers often brand PC gamers as "pirates" and "beggars" and laugh at you because i got this "exclusives". So please buy a PayStation if you want to play Last of Us you filthy beggars hahahah... when you see PC gamer ask for such games to come to PC. Their elitism is as worst as racist. If developers promised no sacrifices on PC gameplay on next sequel then all props to devs. More people enjoy your games and more money you make it's a win-win for all of us. But i really don't want to be forced with botched PC UI, menus and controls, 8 skill limits, no AI tactics, watered down RPGs mechanics and it's all about the "button awesome". I rather have this game stays as a PC exclusive. Console gamers please stop ruining PC franchise.

Sorry i'm not sure if this was asked. Is there a rulebook that will be included in the manual or something? Are there rules in PoE? I'm not quite sure actually. Since it's RTwP, i'm not sure if there's still round or turn. Have it been completely eliminated? Also, are there saving throws, etc. and how it works? Are there initiatives during combat? LIke a Dagger wielding rogue has higher initiative than a Paladin so the rogue will get strike first or something. As for to hit, does it roll any dice anymore? Is it D20 or D100 or whatever? How does damage gets applied, etc.? Does magic fail or magic resist applies? Thanks

Mana vs skill cooldown
Archaven replied to kryadan's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I actually prefer a mixed system: 1) some ability that uses mana/stamina 2) some ability that has x per use/rest 3) some ability that has cooldowns 4) some ability that has x uses per cooldowns -
Can you respec?
Archaven replied to PBJam's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I hate respec in games but i understand why is it for. No harm allowing options in my opinion. You hate it you don't have to use it. -
I'm a bit worried
Archaven replied to Sensuki's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
6 days before release.. that sounds a little worrying.. -
I'm looking to get the Royal Edition after watching the PAX East 2015 presentation. It looks great on what i saw. But i like some feedbacks from the backers themselves if this game live up to its expectations? In terms of art, visuals and contents, are they consistent across locales? Where some locations looks very polished and some locations look very dated, etc. Just wondering if it's safe to pre-order it or just wait for reviews when the game's out? Ya know there's many bad games that relies on hype and marketing to sell games.

Only digital game?
Archaven replied to minijnk's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Never say never. Look at Wasteland 2. It's going to the consoles. Look at Divinity Original Sins. They are constantly flashing the xbox and ps controllers in their interview. Pillars will eventually goes to consoles anyway. Just hope when it sells big, and PoE2 announced for multiplatform, pray hard PC version especially the UIs and Menus are not gimped for parity as well as spells and tactics. I really like physical for PC games especially games like PoE. But PC gaming has gone to the trend of digital and hoping a physical PC version in my country, that's certainly not going to happen. So Steam and GOG are the only options for me. -
Only digital game?
Archaven replied to minijnk's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Wait for the console version then you can collect the physical. This will no doubt come to consoles. See the UI and the big text, it will be easily ported over. After all, which developer doesn't like money?
