  1. The expected (and current) behaviour is that it gets removed after a successful hit. What's not expected is that it still doesn't work with Spirit of Decay.
  2. OR - you die, but do a 360°-Thaos and remember your past life. There, I did it. You can thank my later... "I'll take rebirth for 2000!"
  3. Or (since we are speaking about PL9) you take 5 Berserkers, take Blood Storm, Bloodlust, Driving Roar and Blood Surge, go frenzy and cast Driving Roar for one flipping Rage on everything that comes along your way. Nobody moves, everybody gets hurt. Or you take 5 Druids and cast 5 Great Maelstroms. Or you take 5 Chanters and cast 5 Eld Nary's Curses. Wait - doesn't count. It's PL8 only. Or you take 5 Paladins with Divine Immolation who dance ring-around-a-rosy... Or... wait for it... that's totally revolutionary for a party-based RPG: you mix it all up! I guess the lesson is that PL9 stuff isn't too bad generally...
  4. That, too. But with Deadfire I don't think I can ever accumulate that many hours. Work just takes up too much time dangit!
  5. I hold a science degree in being awesome - but nobody cares because my arguments are usually shyte.
  6. Can't remember. I just found it was one of the most nonsensical but at the same time funnily bizarre sentences I ever read.
  7. It procs when you kill them yourself with Grave Calling, creating a foe-only Chillfog. A Berserker can kill skeletons very quickly since his Carnage is friendly fire AND he procs Bloodlust and Blood Thirst on kill. But his Chillfog will hurt friends as well until you remove Confused. As a Berserker you might think about picking the other enchantment that summons an imp from your killed skeleton. The imp has no summon limit and thus you can create hundreds of imps while triggering Blood Thirst + Bloodlust. With ancient brittle bones you can produce three imps from one skeleton. Chillfog is more crazy though.
  8. By the way: if you have a subclass that has increased resource costs - for example Corpse Eater - and you use an ability with refund - for example Barbaric Blow - you will not get all the costs back. In this case it costs 3 but the refund is only 2.
  9. Maybe you had an injury at that time or so? Or you removed Gauntlets of Accuracy?
  10. It's pretty bonkers if you have a Beckoner who does "Wall of Skeleton" all the time. Or (of course) the notorious Berserker/Beckoner with Grave Calling. You can't spend your Zeal fast enough. FoD with Sun & Moon + Magran's Favor + Ring of Focused Flames is strong if you stack lots of Power Levels. With Prestige you can have base dmg*1.7 (PL bonus)*(1 + 0.6 legendary + 0.3 MIG + 0.25 crit + 0.1 improved crit and so on) * lashes... Or just give everybody one of your ridiculously expensive Exhortations - who cares if Zeal is endless, right?
  11. Barb: Barbaric Blow upgrade: get 2 Rage on kill Single class Barb: Blood Surge, get Rage on kill (25% chance). Single class Paladin: get Zeal when allies (including summons) get killed Tactician: interrupt an ability = get Discipline, flank all enemies and don't get flanked yourself: get Brilliant Blood Mage: Blood Sacrifice Items: search wiki for "on kill" and "+1 of each resource" and "Brilliant". There aren't too many though. The Cloak that has "Mind over Matter" and "Living Illusions" - I think it's called Shroud of Phantasm - is your best bet. If you are a Priest or Wizard you can cheese the heck out of it.
  12. Priest of Skaen/Blood Mage sounds great. I don't like the Mind-over-Matter cheese too much, even for solo. That cape is bonkers anyways. I once equipped all the "do x AoE dmg on unconscious" items on myself and added Citzal's Spirit Lance or Draining Touch. When you summon the Living Illusions (and they sometimes cast Essential Phantom themselves) and suddenly have 7+ Citzal's or permanent Draining Touches on the field who do big AoE dmg when they get killed - it wipes most ads. And on top you get Brilliant occasionally. I wish they had nerfed Brilliant as suggested (different ticks for different resources, e.g. longer ticks for spell replenishment etc.) instead of removing it from most abilities and then introducing it on items and as lvl-1 passive on a subclass. *sigh*
  13. It's great in a lot of cases because: a) it's one handed and thus you will get +12 ACC b) it has an average base damage of 28 (from memory), Great Sword only has 21. c) it targets Will instead of Deflection (can be debuffed to the ground with Miasma + clubs' Bewildering Blows or The Willbreaker) d) it weakens the target on hit (for base 15 sec I believe?) e) it drains 20% of damage done as health. That's not too much, but with Assassinate + Backstab it's okish f) you can summon it and then summon an Essential Phantom which will use it until its summoning time is over (Draining Touch will not get removed after a hit) Cons: 1) gets removed after successful attack 2) you have to use a spell slot 3) you have either to pick the ability or carry a grimoire with it 4) You have to summon it (costs time) Of course the biggest downside is that it is gone after a successful attack. I would have liked it better if it had a normal summoning time - shorter than the other summoned weapons though. But most of all it's just fun to use. The screen shakes a bit when you crit with it and the damage numbers after a crit from stealth with all the Assassin's dmg bonuses are cool. With the right equipment I get ~140 crit damage with an auto-attack. With Zandethus Draconic Fury it's over 200. With all that + Crippling Strike I get ~250 - up to 300. Then add Deep Wounds (although it says pierce/crush/slash damage it works with Draining Touch which does corrode damage)... It won't kill the big monsters with those high health pools, but it will take out the squishies reliably. It's just fun to sneak in, kill some casters, become invisible and repeat - before you storm in with the rest of the crew. It's not the usual "moar dps!" apporach but a sneaky one. Also powerful because the enemy can't get you. Takes some time though...
  14. Firearm will only give you reload and no recovery. And yes, recovery penalty from armor will also apply to reloading (unlike PoE1).
  15. Any news from the Systems Design Team? This wasn't addressed in the new beta patch.
  16. +9 ist the number of a lvl-3 phantom I think. At lvl 20 it should have +60 or so? It seems like all summons suffer from this now...
  17. Hi, as title: when you pick the PL 9 ability Empowered Strikes on a Monk and use (empowered) Whispers of the Wind nothing special will happen. No +100 PEN and no +100 ACC. Nor on the first attack neither the following. If I use Stunning Surge (for example) it works. In addition, the other "Empower-Abilites" (+1 PEN, +10 ACC and so on) that you can take at PL 7 also do nothing with Whispers of the Wind. Find a Monk (MC) with those abilities here in my savegame and try it out: https://www.dropbox.com/s/tcwpf6g07ik0k5t/Hyleon%20%28f9c897b3-bd46-4c0e-9148-d236ebfea8c2%29%20%28LAX-123ABCDEFG%29%20quicksave.savegame?dl=0
